With her fingers rubbing my clitoris fast and hard, I hung on for dear life as she suckled the skin on my neck, not quite biting, but enough to leave her mark.

The moment was intense, as the neck was significant to us as wolves. It was where we would claim one another, and it was sensitive and even the fact that I’d bared my neck in the first place was a little much to rationalise. Doing that was a sign of submission; I was literally offering myself to her, which I didn’t even want to think about right now.

Giving into her touch, I let myself slump and as she rubbed in constant motion, my body rose with passion and I felt myself tighten before I came hard, arching and crying out her name as my whole body exploded with pleasure.

Kash held me while I came down from the intensity of my orgasm. When I could, I moved a little, pushing a hand down in between us and fumbling with the button and zipper of the jeans she wore before edging my hand inside to slide into her slickness below.

She bent her head and kissed me as I started touching her; focused on making it her turn now. She gave me such incredible pleasure; I wanted her to feel as good as I did.

‘Callie,’ she groaned, against my mouth before swooping back down and kissing me languidly. I struggled to stay focus on pleasuring her as her mouth was driving me crazy but somehow, I managed it, pushing her upwards and to the edge before she tensed and then came with a cry of my name, her mouth tearing from mine. She groaned and held me close, her heart hammering in her chest and we stayed like that for long moments, recovering from the sensations of enjoying being in each other’s arms.

‘Callie…’ she said, lifting her head.

I looked up, met stormy eyes. ‘Don’t…’

‘Callie, I…’ she began, but I cut her off.

‘Can we not talk about this?’ I said, pushing her off.

‘Please don’t react like this every time,’ she frowned. ‘I don’t like getting so close to you and then not being able to enjoy it afterwards. You push me away the second we’re done, and it hurts.’

‘I’m sorry, but yet again, I didn’t intend on doing this,’ I told her. ‘I’m confused-like I told you. I need time to think and process this.’

She huffed at me. ‘Time to think of more reasons to stay away from me, more like!’ she exclaimed. ‘Tell you what; I’ll leave you to it, but if you come to me, I’ll be waiting. I’m here and willing, I want to spend time with you be with you like this, but I’m not going to keep chasing you when you treat me like this afterwards. I’ll be at the house if you want to see me,’ she informed me.

  ‘The house?’ I frowned.

‘Yeah…I’m getting more done…trying to get it habitable enough for you to enjoy being there.’

  ‘But I…’ I broke off.

‘I’m going,’ she said, stopping me by raising her hand, as if to say, ‘no more.’

‘Kash…’ I called, as she was leaving.

She paused, turning back to look at me. ‘What?’

‘I…’ I couldn’t say what I was thinking, didn’t know where to even begin.

‘I thought so…when you can talk to me about this, I’ll be waiting. Bye Callie,’ she said, and her eyes were sad.

Watching her go, I knew I’d hurt her, and that aggrieved me. I didn’t want to hurt her, I realised. I wanted to spend more time with her, I wanted this to feel okay, not just during the event but afterwards too. I didn’t know how to get to that point, but I immediately knew I needed to apologise. Leaving the cave, I resolved to go home and think for a while before deciding whether I could go to her, like she wanted me too. Sighing, I slowly walked out of the cave and back through the gap in the cliff before heading up the beach. The crowds were still gathered and watching the events so I could slip away unseen.

I went back to my house and found it empty. My mother and brother were presumably at the games, so I had the space to myself.

Heading upstairs, I stripped and then stepped in the shower, washing myself clean. I stayed in a long time, until my skin was red and hot and my body thoroughly cleansed. After drying myself, I dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt before heading downstairs to make a drink. Sitting in the lounge in the silent house, I considered the past few days. It had been like a whirlwind and I couldn’t wrap my head around the knowledge that I’d become intimately involved with a female sister pack member. It was unheard of and completely baffled me that I had done any of it. Lying back against the sofa, I felt my body respond to the memories of the events that had happened between us in the past few days. We’d become so close so quickly and I’d done things with Kash that I’d only ever dreamed of experiencing. She’d made me feel incredible and I’d never thought I was a remotely sexual person until I’d been in her arms and responding to her every touch.

Sighing to myself, I realised with startling clarity, that I wanted to keep seeing Kash. I didn’t want this to end, in fact I wanted the opposite. I wanted the opportunity to get to know her more and the knowledge that she wasn’t after more than just an affair was beginning to make me feel more comfortable with the idea, as I’d never wanted to be claimed, so the idea worked out well in most ways.

I thought about the house and how I felt about her buying it for me. That, I was uncomfortable with, I decided. It was too much. Way too much. I’d suggest she kept it as her home once she arrived back in Three Cliffs, I decided. She could set herself up there, as I knew she liked it as much as I did. That much was clear in the excitement in her eyes when she talked about what she was doing to make it habitable.

Resolving to clear the air and apologise, I got to my feet and headed out. I decided not to shift and instead enjoyed the long walk over to the headland house, where I knew she was likely to be. It took me about forty-five minutes to get there, but that was positive because it allowed me more time to think. I could have backed out and turned around many times, but I knew I didn’t want to. I wanted to see her-and most of all, I wanted to apologise.

By the time I got to the house, I was feeling guilty about earlier and desperate to tell her I was sorry. It wasn’t okay that I kept hurting her-and it was only because I was so confused in my own head about how I felt about what was happening between us.

As the house came into view, I felt nerves skip through my system. Approaching the door, I knocked-to no response. My heart was tripping along merrily, and my stomach was twisting with butterflies skipping merrily through my body.

‘Kash?’ I called when she didn’t answer my second knock.

When she didn’t answer, I carefully tried the doorknob and it opened, unlocked. Pushing it open, I stepped inside, cautiously.

‘Kash?’ I called, into the quiet house. I heard movement upstairs.

‘Callie?’ she responded, from a distance.

  ‘Kash?’ I called again.

Kash appeared at the top of the stairs, looking down, astonished. ‘Oh my God! You’re here!’ she exclaimed.

I headed quickly up the stairs as she watched me progress towards her. ‘Hey,’ I said, heading to her.

‘What are you doing here?’ she asked, shocked.

‘I, uh…’ I took a deep breath. ‘I came here to say I’m sorry,’ I told her, feeling sad.

‘Oh Callie!’ she murmured, scanning my eyes.

‘I’ve been thinking…and I, uh…I’ve felt guilty since we parted this morning, and I just want to say I’m sorry. I’ve been confused and messed up about all this and I know that doesn’t excuse this, but I am sorry.’

‘Ah Callie, come here,’ she said, stepping closer and dragging me into a close embrace.

‘Do you accept my apology?’ I questioned, against her shoulder.

‘Of course I do…thank you for saying sorry. I understand though. This must all be so overwhelming for you,’ she said, meeting my eyes as she moved back.

I nodded. ‘Just a bit!’ I exclaimed. ‘It’s been a shock, but that doesn’t excuse me being rude or upsetting you. I’m sorry I ran off on you like that…again.’

‘It’s fine,’ she murmured, scanning my eyes. ‘You’re here now, right?’ she smiled.

  ‘I am,’ I nodded.

‘Do you want to see what I’ve been doing?’ she asked.

  I nodded, ‘Sure.’

‘Come on…I’ve been adding stuff to the bedroom. I’m currently making flat pack furniture, which I can tell you, is not my favourite thing to do!’

I laughed. ‘Oh, same here. It’s so confusing!’ I laughed, remembering the last time I had put a flat pack table together.

‘Let me show you,’ she smiled.

We went into the bedroom, and I saw she was making the second of two bedside tables-presumably, in her mind, for me.

  ‘Wow…’

‘I mean, there’s a bit of disarray at the moment but when this one is done, it’ll be good.’

  ‘It’s amazing…what you’re doing here…but, about that…’ I murmured, blushing as I looked up at her.

‘What? Please don’t start the ‘it’s too much’ thing again, Callie. I’ve explained to you-it’s not a big deal, and we’re pack now. We help each other, right?’

‘Yes, we do, but there’s helping someone with some groceries because they’re a bit short that month and then there’s buying someone a house, Kash!’ I exclaimed.

‘So, you’re not going for it…?’

I shook my head. ‘Let it be yours…once you move here. You’re going to need a place, right? And you clearly like it here as much as I do,’ I told her.

She gave me a rueful look. ‘I mean, I do love it-and would happily live here, but I bought it for you…with the hope that if I was seeing you, I’d get to come here as well,’ she smiled.

‘Well, we can just reverse that around. You live here-and I’ll come and see you instead,’ I told her.

She smiled at me, happily. ‘You’ll come and see me?’

‘I want us to be friends, Kash.’

  ‘Just friends?’ she questioned.

  ‘Well…maybe friends who…well, who…’ I couldn’t say it, it seemed too intimate…too much.

‘Friends who sleep together?’ she questioned.

I shrugged. ‘I don’t know. I thought that was what you were suggesting earlier.’

‘What I want from you is everything apart from the claiming deal,’ she told me, silkily.

‘But, uh…we can keep this casual, right? Not publicise it…’

‘This can be whatever you want it to be, Callie. I’m just overjoyed you’re here, if I’m honest. I didn’t think you’d come back to me-at least not without a little badgering from me first,’ she chuckled.

‘I thought you’d given up on chasing me,’ I murmured, remembering how annoyed she’d been earlier and what she’d said.

‘Well, let’s face it, I don’t do well at that. An hour away from you and I’m twitchy at the moment. It’s too much to stay away from you.’

I sighed. ‘Look, Kash, although I’m here, I will admit that I’m still not completely…well, I’m still not completely comfortable with all of this,’ I told her. ‘Do you understand that? Will you be patient with me?’ I asked.

‘Of course, sweetie! You can set the pace! I can imagine me bulldozing into your life has been more than a little bit overwhelming. If you’re accepting of this now, we can slow down and just spend a little time being together. It doesn’t have to be as fast as it has been…we can be calm and slow now.’

I cocked my head at her. ‘Really? The second you get in my personal space, it’s all over!’ I chuckled.

She smiled at me, eyes scanning mine in a way which told me just how much she liked me. ‘Well, that’s true, but you just let me know…like, what did you come here for today?’ she asked me.

  ‘To apologise,’ I said, simply.

‘And now you’ve apologised. What do you want now?’ she questioned.

  ‘I hadn’t thought that far,’ I admitted.

‘No?’ she said, tilting her head towards me.

  ‘Well, I mean…’ I murmured, blushing.

Her eyebrows rose and she took a step towards me. ‘Please finish whatever that sentence was about to be,’ she said, huskily.

  ‘What? Why?’

‘Because your face, Callie! God, you’re gorgeous anyway but when your eyes change like that and the blush fills your cheeks…you’re so adorably stunning,’ she sighed.

‘I, uh…I was going to say, uh…’ I glanced towards the big, comfy looking bed. ‘Well, uh…it’d be nice to, uh…well to actually be in a comfortable bed with you.’

Her eyes widened as she stared at me. ‘You going to run out on me afterwards?’ she questioned.

  I shook my head.

‘I need to hear you say it,’ she said, seriously.

  ‘No,’ I said, clearly.

‘And you’ll stay the night?’ she questioned, looking afraid that I might say no.

  ‘I, uh…if you want me to…I guess…yeah…’ I said, unsure of myself.

‘Callie…’ she breathed. ‘I wasn’t expecting you to come here, let alone grant me a whole night with you,’ she said, huskily.

‘That makes you happy?’ I asked, holding her eyes.

‘That makes me deliriously happy,’ she told me, stepping closer.

I felt my blush deepen on my cheeks. ‘I don’t exactly know how to do all this,’ I admitted, feeling shy with her now I’d agreed to stay.

‘Oh, believe me, Callie, you know exactly what you’re doing,’ she told me.

I shook my head, embarrassed to the core.

‘Come on,’ she encouraged. ‘Come and try out the new bed…see if it’s comfy,’ she offered.

I laughed. ‘I see what you’re doing there,’ I accused.

‘Can’t blame a girl for trying,’ she grinned.

‘True,’ I laughed. ‘Fine; let’s try out this bed you crazily bought for me!’

She smiled, reaching for my hand.

She led me to the bed and we both clambered onto it and lay down, meeting in the middle. She wrapped her arm around my waist and tugged me closer so that we were lying facing each other.

‘What do you think?’ she asked, snuggling even closer.

‘I think I never want to leave here,’ I murmured, closing my eyes and sighing with contentment.

  ‘Yeah? It’s nice, huh? Comfortable.’

‘It’s absolute bliss,’ I murmured, unable to stop myself from shifting closer myself, snaking a hand around her waist and easing a leg through hers to get warmer.

‘How about we chill here for a little bit then?’ she suggested.

‘I’d like that,’ I decided, sighing contentedly.

We lay there for some time, just resting and being quiet with each other. When I finally shifted, it was because I’d moved my head, and that had put my face into her neck, which immediately began to affect me. Her scent flooded through me, and I automatically felt my desire rising in response.

Inhaling her heady scent, I found my hips moving with interest against hers as I kept breathing her in and my head swam with dizziness.

Reaching up to my neck, I tugged at my necklace and let it drop to the floor behind me, letting it go and be away from us connecting. Immediately, as if I had flicked a switch, Kash tensed, and I heard her sharp intake of breath. Our simple embrace changed instantly and Kash moved, her mouth moving to my neck and nuzzling there, breathing me in and undulating against me with interest as I felt the heat growing between us.

With a dizzy mind and blurred vision, I lifted my head, in search of her mouth. I wanted to kiss her, and she didn’t disappoint. Meeting me halfway, her mouth captured mine and she kissed me softly. The electricity which crackled between us was instant, and I felt my body tensing and responding to her every move. I felt heightened and ready for her, nothing stopping me now that I’d chosen this rather than being shocked by it.

Her mouth closed over my lower lip and suckled, making me moan deep in my throat. She moved then, taking her time to kiss me thoroughly. As my mouth opened under hers and her tongue plundered my mouth, I gave myself up to her and kissed her back with a desperation which came from deep inside. It came from the intense connection between us, the intimacy of the moment and the way our scent mingled and affected us both.

As we kissed, her hands roamed and moved down to cup my breasts. Her hands slipped under my black t-shirt and up under my bra to cup soft, sensitive skin. Her fingers played with my nipples, which grew even harder under her touch.

‘Callie,’ she moaned, her voice sounding agonised and aching for me.

I groaned in response, loving the attention she paid me and how easy it was to melt into her embrace. Our kisses were endless, and she didn’t push me for more, just our mouths and hands searching each other, learning one another’s curves and enjoying the feeling of this closeness.

After some time, she lifted her head and just looked down at me, gorgeous eyes meeting mine.

‘You’re so beautiful, Callie,’ she murmured, scanning my eyes.

I felt my stomach tighten, but the way she was looking at me told me that I needn’t be embarrassed, because she believed the words she spoke. She was gazing at me with hearts in her eyes, like she couldn’t get enough of staring at me, like I was everything to her, when we’d said this was just going to be a casual thing. ‘Stop…’ I murmured, flushing.

‘I can’t tell you how gorgeous you are? How amazing you make me feel when I’m in your arms?’ she questioned.

‘Well, it uh…I’m just not used to it,’ I told her. ‘And the way you look at me makes me feel…’

‘Makes you feel what?’ she asked, scanning my eyes.

‘Like this is anything but casual,’ I admitted, squirming in her arms a little.

‘Baby; it is casual…but I have to admit, when I’m in your arms, I do lose a little sense of time, thought and rational thinking,’ she laughed.

  ‘You do?’

‘Yeah. In case you hadn’t noticed, you affect me pretty significantly, Callie. I can’t stay away from you, and I’ve never felt like this with anyone I’ve ever been with before.’
