Mera Delwiche

A young prince must flee for his life when jealous brothers try to kill him. His journey leads him to examine himself, to discover the difference between right and wrong, and to question whether he really wants to fight for what is his own. In the process he discovers love and is faced with the challenge of duty versus desire.“The Cygnet grows into a Swan...and the Falcon shall not hunt forever.”Teenage Sheiji-Yueng is the youngest prince in the Imatsuran palace. Accustomed to complete freedom and being ignored by the rest of the palace inhabitants, he has little need—or desire—to grow up. When his father, on his deathbed, unexpectedly names him successor to the throne, Sheiji must cross the line from childhood into adulthood. Guided by the gentle hand of the late king’s advisor, Sheiji finds himself looking forward to the day he will rule Imatsuro. However, two jealous brothers stand in the way and won’t give up the kingdom without a fight.Forced to flee for his life, Sheiji is suddenly driven into the outside world with little knowledge of its people or customs. As a pampered prince, Sheiji has never needed the skills his life now depends upon—quick thinking, innate instincts, even just the will to survive. Beginning to enjoy his new life a little too much, he must make a decision. Does he continue his carefree life as a street boy with his newfound soul mate, or return to his own people who are counting on their king to save them from a tyrannical usurper?

Double Diamond

Double Diamond

Tanya Hess

Tanya Hess

Andrew Peterson crashed into Casey Adams' life, literally, and shook up her carefully mapped out future. Even with his love of travel and her need for permanence, Casey finds herself incapable of resisting his charm. Will they be able to overcome their differences and make this relationship work, or crash and burn like other casualties of the Double Diamond.Casey Adams had her life all mapped out. As an army brat, growing up with no fixed address or time to develop close relationships, she was finally where she wanted to be for the rest of her life. Here, in North Vancouver, she would grow her small local book store/café to be one of the best in the downtown area, save enough to buy the cottage she had her eye on, meet the man of her dreams, and have 2.1 children and a dog, and then spend her golden years setting down deep roots and nurturing her family. It was the perfect plan. That is until, one rainy day on the ski hill where Casey was volunteering, Andrew Peterson, sexy, attractive and oozing confidence; corporate Bigwig; and self proclaimed wanderer, crashed into her life, literally, and shook up her carefully mapped out future. Intrigued by the quiet, shy ski patroller who helped him after his accident on the hill, Andrew found himself looking for any excuse to be with Casey. Even knowing his disdain for permanence and his desire to keep all relationships light, and her realization that her heart may not be able to survive a short term relationship, Casey still finds herself incapable of resisting his charm. Will they be able to overcome their differences and make a relationship work? Or are they destined to crash and burn like the other casualties of the Double Diamond?

The Harlan Ellison Hornbook / Harlan Ellison's Movie

The Harlan Ellison Hornbook / Harlan Ellison's Movie

Harlan Ellison

Science Fiction & Fantasy / Mystery & Thrillers / Horror

We come now to Volume 3 of the ambitions Edgeworks program, in which White Wolf and its Borealis Legends imprint continue to release damned near every book ever written by Harlan Ellison. And this time, in yet another gigantic volume featuring two complete Ellison titles, we combine a major collection of his incomparable, troublemaking, uncompromising, confrontational essays, plus a foreword by award-winning author Robert Crais, with a rare, previously unavailable (except in a $100 very limited edition) publication of Harlan Ellison's Movie, the full-length feature film he created when a producer at 20th Century-Fox said to him, "If we gave you the money, and no interference, what sort of movie would you write?" Well, that producer is not only no longer at 20th, he left the whole entire venue of moviemaking after Harlan Ellison's Movie was seen by the Suits at the studio. There's no use even trying to describe what this film is about, except to confirm the long-standing rumor that it contains a scene in which a 70-foot-tall boll weevil chews and swallows an entire farmhouse and silo on camera. (It's Scene 33C.) What you might want to do, if you have a moment before carrying this swell book to the cash register up front, is to grab the book clerk who filed Edgeworks 3 in with the crappy Star Trek novelizations and all those dumb books with unicorns lifting their legs to pee golden on an elm tree, and say to that clerk, "You really ought to cross-file this lovely volume with Current Affairs or Pop Culture or Essays or Film of Books About Movies." Because if they've got it in a section that employs the letter "s" and "f"--well, that's just the behavior of zombies.
