The Dom’s Dungeon 5
Dungeon Solution
When the crap hit the fan and she was falsely accused of theft, Lacey Veldman had nowhere else to turn but to her sister, Nerida.
Ogden Evans, a Dom and a werewolf shape-shifter, who works as a barman at The Dom’s Dungeon, and Hugh McLennan, also a Dom and a wolf, who’s an attorney with Bailey and Bond Attorneys at Law, have both seen her and they both want her. But how can they get to know her when she’s in hiding, afraid for her life? And can they work together to win her, or are they more likely to fight each other for her? They’re from different packs, different worlds, different backgrounds. Can they even protect Lacey if she lets them date her?
Hugh lives at Carnal Connections, a BDSM and shape-shifter community. Surely Lacey will be safe there.

Chapter One
“Here, let me help you with that. It’s too heavy for you.”
Lacey turned and smiled at the totally delicious man, a friend of one of Nerida’s partners, as he lifted the cardboard box of plates and bowls from her arms. Because she was two years older than her sister Nerida, Lacey Veldman felt really guilty about dumping all her problems—and herself—on her sister. It was just that when the shit hit the fan she’d had nowhere else to turn.
Now Nerida had formed a relationship with two men, and they’d gone all Alpha and protective, insisting Lacey move in with them to their new condo. Gavan and Taj, Nerida’s men, were bringing the boxes up from the trailer downstairs, and Ogden, Gavan’s yummy friend, was helping Lacey and Nerida move them into the various rooms.
“We can unpack properly any time, but if the boxes are in the right room, that’ll save us spending hours looking for stuff in the wrong place,” said Nerida as she helped Lacey drag a pile of blankets into the main bedroom.
“You always were the organized one,” Lacey said, rubbing her sweaty face with the hem of her T-shirt.
Nerida gave her a quick hug. “I’m glad you’re here to help me. I didn’t know I had so much stuff.”
“Me either. Since you wouldn’t let me go back to my old apartment, I keep wondering if some of these boxes will contain someone else’s possessions, not mine. I’m sure I didn’t have so much junk.”
“If everything doesn’t fit in your room, you can share my closet space. I can’t imagine I’ll need it all. And if some of that luggage isn’t yours, Gavan can take it back again. I’d be more worried about some of your things getting missed and remaining at your old place. Taj said your roommates didn’t seem all that clued into what belonged to whom.”
Lacey grinned. “It doesn’t matter. I brought the few possessions I really care about with me to your place anyway.” She stretched her back up and unkinked her shoulders.
They were in the master bedroom, which had an entire wall of closets. Taj had piled trash bags of his clothing on the shelves at one end of the closet, and Nerida had set her suitcases in the middle. Despite all the piles of stuff in the second bedroom, which would be Lacey’s for now, she didn’t think she would need any of Nerida’s closet space.
“Likely it’ll be junk I’d forgotten about and will throw away. We’d better get back to the kitchen. It’s going to take forever to work out which of the ten-quart measuring jugs you want to keep.”
Nerida giggled. “Not to mention the four juice extractors.”
Ogden was staring out the living room window when they walked out of the bedroom.
“You have an amazing view,” he said.
The condo was on the tenth floor, and the living room looked out toward the river. It was a beautiful panorama. Nerida answered him, but Lacey was too busy looking at him. He was a solid, muscular man with brown hair and eyes. Lacey was sure all those muscles didn’t come from just carrying crates of beer or whatever barmen did. He looked as if he worked out every day. She gave a little shiver wondering what it’d feel like to be wrapped in such strong arms and to be kissed by his smiling lips.
Some days she wished she’d never said anything about her job. She hated that she’d endangered herself and Nerida—and by extension all Nerida’s friends—by refusing to take the blame for the stolen money. But fuck it, she hadn’t taken the money. She had no access, no passwords to those accounts. And she was damn well not taking the blame for whoever did it, no matter how often that slimy, disgusting attorney told her she’d go to jail anyway.
Thirty thousand dollars was a lot of money, and she wasn’t going to be the fall guy for her fucking boss just because he’d gotten his attorney to threaten her. The cops would just have to find the real thief, that was all.
Lacey smiled. Nerida was working so hard to help her nail the bastard who’d stolen the money. Nerida, the researcher. Her little sister with the skills she needed and the big, loving heart to help her and support her right now. The least she could do was work harder to get all this gear unpacked.
Sighing, Lacey grabbed another box and dragged it into the kitchen.

Ogden Evans shouldered yet another box of books and carried it from the open front door of the condo into the living room. The bookshelves were already sitting in the correct place, according to the neat layout map Nerida had given him, so he set the box down near them, on top of two other cardboard boxes he’d already brought there.
As he straightened, he looked around, hoping to catch another glimpse of Lacey. Damn, that chick was hot. He’d only seen her once before and had thought then he wouldn’t mind getting to know her bet ter. Now he wanted to know her a lot better. Know, as in naked and in his dungeon preferably.
He wondered if she was interested in BDSM. And shape-shifters. Like his boss, Gavan, Ogden was a wolf and a Dom and prepared to share the right woman with another man, but only one who appreciated his lifestyle. A second wolf would be best, seeing there was such a shortage of female wolves.
There were still two more boxes of books to move, which he did. They were far too heavy for the women to lift.
Feminine laughter had him turning his head toward the kitchen where Lacey and Nerida had arranged three toasters, four juice extractors, and a whole line of coffee pots and drip coffee machines along the counter.
He walked over to them. “So I’m guessing caffeine is the number one priority in this family.”
“I suspect the men’s next stop will be the thrift store. I can’t ever imagine needing this many coffee pots,” said Nerida.
“Oh I don’t know. One in the kitchen, one in your office, one in each bathroom…” Lacey began before succumbing to giggles.
Odgen stared into her sparkling hazel eyes and knew he was in love. Her hair was blonde and very short, but Gavan had told him that was part of the way she’d changed her appearance after the asshole attorney had tried to force her to accept the blame for her boss’s theft. He didn’t know what color her hair was naturally, but he didn’t care anyway. Her eyes were what drew him in. Such bright, shining, happy pools full of light and life.
Damn. I want her.
Nerida picked up one of the coffee machines and plugged it in, filling it with water and coffee. “We’ll test this one out. It looks shiny and newer than the others. Besides, everyone will need a drink after carrying all that stuff.”
“Hell, yes. Thank god for the elevators. I can’t imagine having to get all our possessions up to the tenth floor via the stairs,” said Lacey.
“It’s good there are two of them as well, in case one ever breaks down,” said Ogden.
Lacey leaned on the kitchen counter and grinned at him. “Absolutely. The elevator in the science building broke down just before exams in my final year at college. The lecture theatre was on the eighth floor and sat four hundred students. Maybe ten of us made it to class that week, and the professor took our names. I fucked up my final paper, and I’m pretty sure the only reason I passed that class was because the lecturer recognized my name.”
Ogden smiled at her. “That sounds exactly like how I passed French. I have a French grandfather, and he insisted I study it even though I’m useless at it. But the French teacher was a keen baseball fan, and I hit the winning home run that year. My official score on the final paper was fifty-one percent. Since I know for a fact I couldn’t answer half the questions, I’m convinced if I hadn’t hit that home run I’d have failed French as well.”
Taj and Gavan arrived then with the last of the luggage, shutting the front door and joining them at the counter. While Lacey dived into the refrigerator looking for some snacks, and Nerida poured more coffee, Ogden wondered how he could get to know Lacey better. She was sort of semi in hiding right now so the asshole attorney Mr. Lillington-Hall couldn’t keep harassing her. Also, Nerida was a researcher, and she kept her identity private as well. But he couldn’t really woo Lacey under the noses of her sister and his boss. How could he date a woman in hiding? Where could they go and still be safe? Apart from his dungeon. He’d make sure she was very safe there. Safe and hot and naked and… Shit. His dick was as hard as a rock already, and he hadn’t even held her hand yet.
After they’d finished their coffee, Taj headed off to return the trailer he and Gavan had borrowed. Ogden wondered if they’d tell him to leave, but he didn’t want to go yet. “Lacey, what do you need me to do now? I’m happy to stay and keep assisting you,” he said.
“There’s still a lot of kitchen equipment to put away. If you pass me things, I can do it much faster, and that’ll free Nerida to start unpacking books or DVDs.”
That sounded perfect to him, but he felt he ought to be a gentleman and offer to do the books. “I’d like to help you in the kitchen, but would you rather I do the books? They’re quite heavy.”
“I’m rather fussy about how they’re arranged. By author’s last name, and then in series order. So likely it’s best if I do them myself,” said Nerida.
“Oh yes. I’d get it wrong for sure.”
For the next hour he unwrapped plates, bowls, and mugs, handing them to Lacey to store away. That was followed by cans and boxes of food, bottles of spices, which smelled wonderful, and finally glassware, which all had to be washed and dried before being put away.
When Taj returned, he got out a box cutter, and they began deconstructing all the boxes and flattening the newspapers that had been used for protection of the china. Then they bagged the trash and took a surprising number of giant black bags downstairs and outside to the Dumpsters.
As they turned to reenter the building, Taj gripped his arm. Up until now Taj had been smiling and joking, but right now he was deadly serious. Ogden stared at him. What the fuck have I done wrong?
“You want Nerida’s sister, don’t you?”
“Yes, but I haven’t touched her. I’d never hurt her. You should know that.”
Taj held his fist up inches from Ogden’s face. “No. You should know this. Lacey’s life is in danger and so is Nerida’s. If you do anything, anything at all, that leads to either of them being hurt, you won’t just have to worry about Gavan and your job. You’ll have to answer to me as well. Capisce?
“Sí. Um, yes, sure. Truly, I like her a lot, and I understand.”
“Well, that’s all right then.” Taj thumped him on the shoulder so hard Ogden wondered if he’d broken it, but Taj was smiling again. He shook his head, trying to shake some sense into himself. “Fuck. Remind me never to upset you.”
“As long as you’re on the same page as Gavan and me, it’s all good.”
Same page? Right. Shit! Planning a date is going to be harder than ever now. I don’t just have to plan something to please Lacey and keep her safe, I also have to ensure Gavan and Taj don’t kill me. Sheesh.

Hugh McLennan had been headhunted by Bailey and Bond Attorneys at Law from the much smaller law firm where he’d worked ever since he was an intern. He’d been really surprised that anyone had wanted him, as he wasn’t particularly career-driven. He was a werewolf, of course, and keen to hide that part of himself. He was also a Dom in the BDSM lifestyle, and he didn’t talk about that out in the real world much either. So the fact that a law firm with the high reputation of Bailey and Bond had wanted him had shocked him somewhat.
He remembered the day.
Sierra Bond had called him into her office for an appointment and said, “You’re developing quite a talent in the area of bankruptcy litigation, Hugh.”
“Well, I guess, I, er, yes, ma’am. I’ve done a few courses in it and handle all the bankruptcy cases, ma’am.”
“Bailey and Bond needs a couple of attorneys with knowledge and skill in that specialty. We’d like you to join us.”
Inside he’d been saying, “Who? Me? Do you really want me?” but he’d made his mouth negotiate a higher salary than he already received and the opportunity for bonuses as well.
A month later he’d been installed in his new office working as part of Allegra Lee’s team. Bankruptcy was his primary focus, but he also handled other delicate cases for her from time to time and was enjoying his job more than he’d ever done before. All he needed now was a mate to complete his life.
Hugh lived at Carnal Connections. It had begun as a small community of practitioners of lifestyle BDSM who’d bought property well out of town at the height of the global financial crisis. Over the years they’d accepted a range of shape-shifters, including some wolves, and then a small pack of panthers whose women were being harassed by a rogue pack.
