Knox was in front of her so fast; she didn’t see him move. His body was hard, and his breathing was uneven. “Damn you, Blake,” was the last thing he said before he kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and opened her mouth for him. She lifted a leg around his backside, and he cupped her ass. She tilted her pelvis to try to rub herself against his erection, but he was too tall.
Knox fixed that by lifting her onto the counter.
“Mmm.”
This was much better. Pushing aside the blanket that was around his body, she went straight for his cock.
Knox hissed. “Please.” He swallowed.
“Please what?”
“You have to let go or …”
“Or you’ll what? Come in my hand?”
He shook his head. She squeezed; he groaned.
“I’ll take you. Right here. I am barely holding on by a thread.”
“And that’s a problem?” She did not understand why this guy fought their attraction so hard.
“You’ll hate me if I do.”
She laughed and pumped his dick in her fist. “Never,” she whispered against his mouth. “Now, take me. I’m all yours.”
Knox kissed her again, consuming her mouth in a hot, wet kiss. She almost didn’t notice how he lifted her whole body with one arm while pulling her shorts off with the other, the blanket now at his feet.
But, instead of setting her back on the counter, he set her down on his cock. Despite her wetness and readiness for him, he was large and didn’t go slow. She welcomed the bite of pain that came with him opening her up. That was the best part of being with someone for the first time.
“Oh, yes, please, Knox. Don’t stop.”
Knox bit her neck. “It’s too late now. Can’t stop.”
He set her ass on the counter and pulled her to the edge. He grabbed on to her hips as he pounded into her.
She’d known it would be like this. She’d known that he wouldn’t hold back once he let go of his restraint.
Knox kissed her throat and alternated between nipping at her and sucking on her skin. He seemed to really like that part of her body, so she tilted her head back to give him better access.
Hannah held on as she floated higher and higher toward orgasm. His shaft touched every part of her, and the head of him seemed to know right where her G-spot was.
“Knox.” She dug her nails into his back. “I think I’m going to come already.”
“Yes, Hannah. Come all over me. I want to feel it. I’ve been waiting years to feel it.”
She threw back her head as her climax hit her hard. She’d already had her legs crossed behind his ass, and she clasped them tight to keep their bodies from being separated.
She barely heard Knox speaking. Something about letting him go. He needed to pull out before it was too late. But she ignored him. She was riding this wave as long as she could.
Knox was barely holding off his own orgasm as Hannah squeezed his cock. Her pussy was tight and wet, and he wanted to let go so badly, but he didn’t have a condom on. It was bad enough that he was fucking her. He could not release his seed into her, too.
He tried to get her to loosen her legs, but she was strong for such a small thing, and he didn’t want to hurt her. Plus, all that moving around put more friction on his dick.
Deciding he should enjoy the moment when he first made Hannah come, he put all his focus into how beautiful she looked with her head flung back and her cheeks pink.
Her orgasm seemed to be waning, and he admired his strength and willpower at keeping his cock in check.
But then Hannah had to lift her head. She kissed his neck and rotated her hips. And then she bit him.
He was done for. His wolf was having no more of this trying-to-pull-out business, and he came like a freight train.
He cried out as he felt Hannah tighten around him again.
No, baby, don’t come again, he screamed in his head.
But it was too late. His orgasm shot his seed deep inside her while hers carried it to her awaiting egg.
Blake was going to kill him for knocking up his sister.
THREE WEEKS LATER
Hannah walked into her house after a long day at work and dropped her things at the door.
All she wanted to do was collapse into bed. She was so tired. It felt like every client at the clinic had brought their pet in with some emergency today, and with them short a tech, it had been a busy day.
It hadn’t helped that, for some strange reason, almost all the cats started to act up around her. It was the weirdest thing. And it wasn’t just at work. It was also at home. The last few days, her cats wouldn’t come out and greet her when she got home. And, if she tried to pet them, they would run away and look at her like she was a traitor.
Okay, so she had no idea what they actually thought, but they weren’t friendly to her.
Hannah dragged her feet to the bathroom and turned on the water. She was showering, then eating dinner, and then going to bed.
As she got under the water, she contemplated skipping the food, but if she did that, she wouldn’t feel good later. It was only a recent development, starving in the middle of the night, but she didn’t want to be woken up from her precious slumber to forage around in her kitchen for something to eat.
She finished her shower and threw a light robe around herself after drying off and combing out her hair.
She was just walking to the kitchen when her doorbell rang.
Hannah sighed. She really wasn’t in the mood for company.
When she opened the door, she was surprised to see her brother on the other side. “Blake? What are you doing, ringing the doorbell?”
He pointed behind him. “Knox insisted.”
She looked around her brother, and there was Knox all right. She hadn’t seen him since he came to her house with his injury. He’d fucked her all afternoon and all night, but he had been gone when she woke up in the morning.
She supposed it served her right. She had pushed him to have sex with her. He had tried to avoid it. She just hadn’t expected him to ghost her afterward. But she got what she’d asked for. Knox had never promised her roses and forever.
She opened the door. “Come in.”
The two men entered, and Knox held a bag of something that smelled heavenly.
He handed it to her. “I thought you might be hungry.”
“Thank you.” It was like flowers, but it was almost better. She took the food into her kitchen, and Blake and Knox followed. “So, what are you guys doing here?”
She unpacked the stuff from the bag and opened the container. Steak. Yum.
She turned around to see Blake shrug.
“I don’t know. Knox said he had to talk to us both about something.”
Hannah carried her dinner to the table and began to dig in. “You moving away or something?” she asked Knox.
His brow furrowed. “What? No? Why would you think that?”
She shrugged. “Because, after what happened, I haven’t heard from you at all. I thought you’d at least call.”
Now, Blake looked confused. “You mean, after you patched him up?”
“Sit down, Blake,” Knox said. “Please.”
Blake sat, and Hannah pointed to her food. Her brother shook his head.
“Sorry I’ve been MIA,” Knox said to Hannah. “I needed to do a few things before I came back to you. I didn’t want to come here without any answers.”
Hannah raised her eyebrows. “Cryptic much?”
Knox ran a hand down his face. “Hannah, I don’t know how else to tell you this, but I’m a werewolf.”
Hannah looked at Knox and then at Blake. Then, she burst out laughing. “What the hell? It’s not even April.”
Knox shook his head. “Hannah, I’m not joking.”
She looked at her brother.
“He’s not, Han. I don’t know why he’s telling you now, but it’s the truth.” Blake looked at Knox and lifted his chin. “Show her your chest.”
Knox pulled his shirt up. At first, Hannah was caught off guard by his six-pack. A six-pack that she had thoroughly kissed every inch of three weeks ago. But then her gaze moved north, and she saw his bullet wound. Or what should have been his bullet wound.
She stood and walked around the table. “No way.” She touched the completely healed area. “There’s no way that it healed that fast.” It had barely left a scar either.
Knox’s jaw was hard. “Please, you can’t touch me right now.”
Hurt, Hannah quickly dropped her hand and went back around to her chair.
“It’s because he’s a werewolf,” Blake said.
She shook her head. “I still don’t believe it.”
Blake shrugged. “If you’re really set on her knowing, I guess you’re going to have to show her.”
Hannah took another bite of her steak when Knox started stripping in her kitchen, and she almost choked. “What the hell?”
Blake patted her hand. “He doesn’t want to rip his clothes.”
Once Knox was naked, his body began to change, and moments later, a big black wolf stood in his place.
Hannah dropped her fork and almost passed out.
Knox shifted back into his human form and got dressed as Blake fanned his sister’s face with a piece of paper.
“I’m sorry, Hannah. I didn’t mean to make you almost pass out.”
She shook her head. “I’m surprised as well. I’m a doctor. Passing out is not something I do.”
“It’s probably the baby,” he said without thinking.
Two sets of green eyes looked at him.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Blake said. His narrowed gaze swung to Hannah.
She held up her hands.
Knox sighed, wanting to punch himself in the mouth. He pulled out the chair opposite Hannah and sat down. “I apologize. I didn’t mean to blurt that out.”
“What is going on, Knox?” Blake asked.
Knox swallowed. “Your sister is pregnant.”
“What?” Hannah said. “You are just pulling stuff out of your ass. There is no way you could know that.”
He sighed. He could tell her they’d been in this very room when it happened, but he didn’t think it would go over well. He needed to tell the whole story, so the two of them could understand what was fully going on.
“You both now know I’m a werewolf, but what you don’t know is that, when the moon is full, it affects me.”
“You always said you weren’t forced to shift, like the movies make it out to be,” Blake said.
“That’s true. But it does affect my arousal. Werewolves feel the pull of the moon and want to mate. It’s Mother Nature’s way of getting us to procreate.” He cleared his throat. “That’s why I needed you to pick me up after you brought me to Hannah’s when I was injured.”
“But then I got called to an assignment and couldn’t come to get you,” Blake said, his voice telling Knox his partner was catching on.
“Before I go further, Blake, I want you to know that I have liked your sister for a long time, and she has liked me, too.”
Hannah scoffed. “Bullshit.”
Knox tapped his nose. “Honey, I can smell how much you want me every time we’re together.”
Hannah turned red and crossed her arms. “I was actually talking about you liking me, but thank you for embarrassing me in front of my brother.”
Damn. This wasn’t going the way he’d planned it.
“I have wanted you since almost the first time I met you. But I stayed away because you’re human, and I’m not.”
“Really?” The look on her face was pure astonishment. But then she remembered she should be mad. “Don’t you think that’s my decision?”
He sighed. “I suppose, yes. But I never wanted to do that to you.”
“And, now, you’ve changed your mind?” she asked incredulously. “Now, you are giving me a choice?” She shrugged. “What’s changed?”
“You’re having my baby.”
She laughed while Blake looked like he wanted to kill Knox.
“It’s true. I knew the moment it happened, and I can smell that you’re with child now.”
Blake stood up and punched him in the face.
Hannah held a rag to Knox’s nose.
“I’m going to fucking kill you,” her brother said to his friend. He looked at her. “And you. You slept with him?”
Hannah picked up Knox’s hand, so he could hold the rag to his face, and she stood. “I appreciate you being protective of me, Blake, but this doesn’t concern you.” She pushed him back toward her front door.
“I trusted him,” Blake said with fire in his eyes.
She rolled her eyes. “And I’m sure you still can.” She opened her door. “Now, I need you to go, so I can talk to Knox. Alone.”
Blake shook his head.
“Get out of here, Blake. Now.”
“Fine. But I’m coming back in an hour.”
“Whatever,” she said and swung the door closed behind him.
She walked back to the kitchen to help Knox with his nose, but he was already standing at her sink with a clean face, rinsing out the rag she’d given him.
“How—”
He smiled warily. “Fast healer, remember?” He wrung out the piece of cloth and hung it on the edge of the sink. He stepped toward her. “I’m sorry.”
She tilted her head. “About what exactly? Getting me pregnant?” She still couldn’t quite believe she was going to have a baby. “Or telling me in front of my brother?”
Knox cleared his throat and shook his head. “I’m not sorry I got you pregnant.”
That answer shocked the hell out of her.
“I’m maybe a little sorry I told you and your brother at the same time. But he’s my friend and partner. I wanted him to know.” Knox took another step forward. “I’m sorry I sprang all this on you at once.” He pushed a lock of hair away from the side of her face.
She took a step back. “How about being sorry for sending me mixed messages?”
He frowned. “What are you talking about?”
“Earlier, you told me not to touch you. Now, you’re being all tender and touching me. What gives?”
Knox raised an eyebrow. “I don’t have much willpower when you touch me, especially now that I’ve been inside you and you’re carrying my child. I didn’t think you’d want me to start fucking you on the kitchen table in front of your brother.”
Hannah swallowed as warmth flooded her insides. “No, that wouldn’t have been good. Blake might have done more than punch you, and I really don’t want to see him go to jail.” She moved closer to him. “Do you really want me?”
Knox glided a hand under her robe and squeezed her hip. “Always.” The top slipped down on one side, and he sucked her nipple in his mouth. “God, I think you taste even better than I remembered.”
She should push him away, but he felt so good. She could question him while enjoying herself, couldn’t she? “Why did you disappear on me then?”
“I needed to speak with my elders,” Knox said against her chest.
“Elders?”
“Yes. They are a group of werewolves who make decisions and rulings for our species.” Knox kissed his way up her breastbone to her neck.
“And what did you have to talk to them about?”
“Taking you as my mate.”
Against her better judgment, hope bloomed in her chest, and she took a step back. “You can’t be serious.”
Knox grinned. “As a heart attack, baby.”
Hannah put her hands on his chest. “You have to know, you’re not going to win me over that easily. I’m going to make you work for it.”
Knox pulled her to him. “I wouldn’t dream of having it any other way. Just as long as I win in the end.” He swung her up in his arms. “I’d like to start pleading my case right now.”
Hannah laughed. “Okay, I suppose I can let you.”
EIGHT AND A HALF MONTHS LATER
Hannah rolled over and smacked Knox in the chest. He grabbed her hand and held it to him. She hadn’t been sleeping well lately with her big belly always in the way, and he rubbed his thumb over her palm in hopes she’d stay asleep.
He stared at the dark ceiling and smiled. A year ago, he had been avoiding this woman, and now, she was in his bed, as his mate, and ready to burst with his child.
If the guy who’d shot him wasn’t a lowlife drug dealer, Knox would almost thank him for bringing him and Hannah together.
Their love story was a little unconventional. It wasn’t every day a guy got the girl pregnant and then had to win her over, but he’d done it. It also wasn’t every day that a guy had to win over the girl’s brother.
Blake had come around when he saw that Knox really cared about his sister.
“Knox?” Hannah said.
He squeezed her hand. “Yeah, Han?”
“I love you.”
Knox grinned. “I love you, too.” He kissed her forehead. “Why don’t you try to get some more sleep?”
“Because your behemoth of a son thinks it’s time to party.”
Knox rolled over and put his hand on her huge belly. Their son was indeed kicking away in there. “Are you okay?”
She chuckled. “Yes, I’m fine. Why are you always so worried?”
“Because you have a werewolf baby in there. I don’t want him hurting you.”
“As long as he doesn’t shift when the doctor pulls him out of me, I’ll be fine.”
Knox sighed. “I told you, we don’t gain the ability to shift until we’re in our teens.”
Hannah put her hand on his. “Do you think he’ll be able to shift? Since he’s half-human?”
This conversation was not new, and his answer was still the same. “I don’t know. I guess we’ll find out when it happens.”
“I can’t wait to meet him.”
Knox smiled and pulled her close. “Me, too, baby. Me, too.”
