Pursuing the Madam

Prologue
Kaiah had run back home after the incident that had just happened to her. All she wanted was for Deonte to hold her and tell her that everything would be alright and he would take care of it for her. She heard Deonte yelling so she grabbed his gun, ready for whatever could possibly pop off. She slowly crept to her room and was ready for war.
She stood there with the gun aimed at the bitch that was laying in her bed. This was the same bitch that had turned her world upside down and she had the nerve to be looking at her wearing a smirk. Deonte stood on the other side of the room watching to see how this would play out; he felt like this shit was all his fault.
"You know what? You’re not even worth it," Kaiah said while dropping Deonte's gun and dashing for the door. She had to get out of there, suddenly she found it hard for her to breathe. She was done, she couldn't do it anymore. She gave her heart to this man only for him to say to hell with her.
She stopped and turned around and picked the gun up again. She aimed it at the girl who wore a lazy smirk on her face. She pulled the trigger and shot her right in the chest before dropping the gun again and running out the house.
"Baby, wait!" Deonte yelled running behind her, not even caring that someone just got shot.
She ignored him and continued running towards the front door. Deonte grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving, but she quickly turned around and punched him dead in his jaw which made him let her go. She jumped in her car wiping away the tears that escaped her eyes without her permission. She was pissed off because she allowed him to put her in this fucked up situation. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, she thought as she quickly pulled out of the driveway.
The tears blurred her vision so she never noticed the car that was speeding until they slammed into her on the driver's side. Her head bounced off the window and hit the steering wheel. That was all she remembered before everything went black.
1-How They Met
Kaiah was chilling at Club Onyx waiting for her brother to come out from the back. Her twin brother Kaison was managing the club for now until his best friend and right hand man, Zacorin, got home. She was sitting in her own booth nodding her head to the music when she finally noticed him coming her way, but he wasn't alone. It was dark in the club so she couldn't get a good look at the mystery man until he and Kaison where standing in front of her.
"About time," joked Kaiah. "I was about to come back there and get you."
She was talking to her brother but she felt the other dude’s eyes on her. She looked over at him and he was already staring at her and he didn't look away. His eyes roamed her body while he licked his lips.
"Who's this?" asked Kaiah.
"Damn, my bad. Kaiah this is D-Boy, D-Boy this is my twin sister Kaiah," introduced Kaison.
"Nice to meet you, but what's the name your mother gave you?" asked Kaiah, feeling bold.
"Deonte," he replied.
Kaiah nodded her head in approval. The sound of his baritone voice sent chills down her spine. "Love you Duke, but I have to get home. I have an early morning tomorrow, gotta take the girls to get checked out, but call me," she said, kissing her brother's cheek.
When she got up, Deonte got a good look at her ass. He had been admiring her since they walked over to her. It may have been dark in the club but he could still tell that she was beautiful. He watched as she walked over to some dude and they walked out of the club together.
"No disrespect, but ya sister is bad as fuck," Denote said as they sat in the booth Kaiah had previously been sitting in.
"Imma just give you the heads up now, Kaiah is a hard nut to crack. She cold as ice and don't let nobody in," warned Kaison.
He knew firsthand how his sister was. She refused to let anyone in and had a wall built up that seemed impossible to break down.
Deonte sat back thinking about how it would be nothing for him to crack the ice around Kaiah's heart. She seemed like a challenge and he loved challenges.
"So what's up with the connect?" Deonte asked.
"Me personally, I don't even like the nigga so I barely talk to his ass. I let my sister do all the talking for us."
"Your sister?" he asked confused.
"Yea, she used to fuck with him awhile back but they still talk so I let her do the communicating part since he so in love with her ass, he'll do whatever she ask."
Denote nodded his head, "That's what's up."
Kaiah left the club with her close friend, Black. They had been friends since the fifth grade and he was one of the few people she could trust.
"I found some potential girls for you tonight," Black said.
"That's cool, but you know I don't want no ratchet females working for me. They at least have to have some type of class."
Black laughed and shook his head at Kaiah. "Girl I know that, just chill and let me handle this. I'll be calling you, so be ready," he said as he pulled up to Kaiah's house.
Kaiah kissed Black's cheek before going into the house. It was already two in the morning and she had to be up at seven so she took a quick shower before jumping in the bed.
* * *
Kaiah pulled her Lexus up to the security booth and waited for the gates to open. She winked and blew kisses at the guards as she drove through to get to the mansion. Her ex, Cortez, bought it for her when she was just seventeen years old. She moved in with her cousin Kaily and they lived there until Kaily decided to move away to Atlanta.
Kaiah didn't see the point of her to living in this ten bedroom, ten bath mansion all by herself and told Cortez he should sell it; but he refused, saying he bought it for her and he would be damned if he let anyone else lay their heads in it. So when she turned eighteen, she followed in her father's footsteps and started her own little prostitution ring and moved her girls into the mansion.
Kaiah didn't consider herself to be the typical pimp or madam. She didn't use violence, she rarely raised her voice at them, and she never really cussed them out. Also, she picked the potential clients and did background checks on them before even introducing them to the girls. She took them monthly for checkups and to make sure that they were healthy, she gave them their own packs of condoms and even let them get on birth control if they wanted. The clients paid her off the bat before they paid the girls and she even let the girls set their own prices.
When she walked through the door, Angel, the baby of the house, came bouncing down the stairs. There were a total of five girls currently in the house with ages ranging from 22 to 19, with Angel being the youngest.
"Hey Mama Bear, how are you?” Angel asked, hugging Kaiah tight.
“I’m tired baby girl, what’s up with you? Y’all ready?” she asked.
"Yea, they're down in the theater room waiting on you."
"Alright, go get them and tell them to meet me in the garage," Kaiah said, walking towards the elevator that led to the underground garage that she kept a few of her cars in. Since all the girls were riding with her today, she decided on taking the Navigator. The girls climbed into the car and they headed to their monthly checkups.
Kaiah let the girls out to go ahead and get signed in while she checked her phone for any emails. Right when she hopped out of the car, she got a text from Kaison letting her know that he would be stopping by her house later so they could talk. She was busy texting her brother back and walking when she ran into something hard. Whoever she bumped into dropped their phone.
"I'm so sorry," Kaiah said as she bent down to pick up the phone.
"It's cool," a familiar voice said.
Kaiah looked up into a pair of coal black eyes that had long, curly eyelashes to match. Finally, she recognized the voice. It belonged to the man her brother introduced to her as D-Boy. Now that she got a better look at him in broad daylight, she had to admit that he is fine as hell. Chocolate colored skin, neat dreads that hung off his shoulders, juicy lips that weren't too big but just right.
"Sorry, D-Boy, I hope I didn't crack your screen," Kaiah said.
He smiled showing off his pearly whites and one deep dimple in his left cheek. "It wouldn't matter if you did, I been needing a new phone anyways, so you probably did me a favor. But what was the point of you asking me for my government name if you weren't going to use it?" asked Deonte as he looked Kaiah up and down, liking what he saw before him.
Kaiah was caught a little off guard by his question so she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "I didn't know you wanted me to."
"Well you should because we'll be seeing a lot of each other." He smiled.
"I'll keep that in mind."
A girl that looked to be about 14 or 15 walked over to them and looked from Kaiah to Deonte. "You're freaking gorgeous." The girl smiled, admiring Kaiah.
Kaiah stood at 5'3” with a peanut butter complexion that she inherited from her mother, long black hair that stopped in the middle of her back, almond-shaped brown eyes and a beautiful smile. She had a set of 34C perky breasts and a nice ass to fit her. Looking at her, you would never be able to tell she had dealt with low self-esteem a few years ago.
"She is huh?" Deonte smiled. "Synai this is Kaiah, Kaiah this is my very outspoken little sister, Synai," he introduced the two.
"Nice meeting you Synai and nice seeing you again Deonte." She smiled.
Kaiah was getting nervous because she felt butterflies in her stomach and she hadn’t felt them since the first time she laid eyes on Cortez many years ago.
"Alright, we will let you go on about your day," Deonte said, pulling Kaiah from her thoughts.
What the hell is wrong with me? thought Kaiah as she headed to check on her girls. She just couldn't shake the feeling that this man was giving her.
2-Diggin On You
Kaiah was sitting on her couch watching Real Housewives of Atlanta and eating her favorite ice cream, Superman, when her mind traveled back to Deonte. She didn't know what the hell was wrong with her because she hadn’t paid a male any attention since she was seventeen years old but it was something about Deonte that piqued her interest.
She heard keys rattling in the lock and knew it was nobody but her brother. He was the only person she trusted to have a key to her house, plus he always came to her place to crash whenever he wanted to get away from his trifling ass girlfriend.
"Honey we're home!" Kaison laughed as he walked through the door with Deonte right behind him. All of a sudden, she felt embarrassed. She had her hair on top of her head in a high ponytail with a tank top on and some short Soffe shorts.
"You didn't tell me we were having company, Duke," said Kaiah, calling Kaison by the nickname she gave him when they were little.
"Where the hell you see company?" Kaison asked looking around. "D-Boy is family girl."
Deonte flopped down on the couch next to Kaiah and hit her on the thigh. "Yea girl, I'm family," he said, taking the spoon and ice cream from her and digging in. Kaiah burst out laughing at him; she couldn't believe he was that bold.
"You are so nasty, you don't know where my mouth been," she laughed.
"I trust you...unless you don't think I should," he said still eating her ice cream.
“Whatever,” she said, getting off the couch.
From the moment she got up, Deonte had his eyes glued to her ass. His trance was broken by his vibrating phone. He took it out his pocket to see it was a text from Aaliyah, his ex-girl of a year that he had left in Atlanta. He up and moved himself, his brother and sister without telling her a word. He was done with her the moment he found out that she aborted his baby.
Truth be told, he was done with her long before then. He didn't love her the same way she loved him. He was more in love with the things she could do in the bedroom. Deonte was brought out his thoughts by the sound of Kaison's voice.
"Kay Kay, we need a favor."
"What Kaison?" she asked with her hands on her hips.
“Me and my boy are hungry, so why don't you be a good sister and cook for me?" Kaison asked.
Kaiah chuckled. "Kaison it is almost eleven o'clock at night. You have to get back to Mesha's trifling ass and he has to get back to whatever female he sitting over there texting," she said.
"Girl, quit playing and feed us," Kaison said.
She rolled her eyes at him. "What do y'all want?"
"Surprise us," Kaison said as he headed towards the stairs.
Kaiah went to the kitchen while Deonte contemplated if he should text Aaliyah back. He thought about it for a minute then decided that he would leave her in the past because he wanted to focus on the present and hopefully a future...with Kaiah.
Kaiah had her music playing while she looked in her freezer and fridge for something to cook the fellas. One of her favorite songs by Alicia Keys came on, so she started singing along with her.
I was wondering maybe, could I make you my baby
If we do the unthinkable, would it make us look crazy?
Or would it be so beautiful, either way I'm saying
If you ask me, I'm ready.
She jumped at the sound of Deonte's voice because she didn't know he was in the kitchen with her. "Damn girl, you can sing."
"Thank you," she blushed.
"So you wanna make me your baby?" he flirted.
"It was a song, Deonte," she laughed.
"That might be true, but I'm feeling you and I know you're feeling me so let's put the bullshit aside," he said walking up on her.
She shook her head and smiled. "You don't know nothing about me, I'm not made to be anyone's girlfriend," she said sadly.
Deonte could see the hurt and brokenness in her eyes when she said that last part. He was wondering what happened to her in the past to make her put a wall up.
"You're right. I don't know a damn thing about you which is why I'm trying to get to know you. Let me be the judge about you being able to be my girl," he said.
“I think you should give the man a chance Kay Kay," Kaison said, surprising them both.
She took a deep breath and looked away from Deonte. She was wondering if she should really take a chance on him. She finally looked at him and made her decision. "Take baby steps and take it one day at a time?" she asked.
"That's cool with me," he smiled.
"Alright nigga, leave her alone so she can fix us something to eat," Kaison joked.
Over the late dinner, Kaiah learned that Deonte and Kaison met through Kaiah and Kaison’s cousin's boyfriend, Carlos. He and Deonte were best friends so when he found out he was moving, he told him to link up with Kaison. She also found out that Deonte had a younger brother that was eighteen and Synai, whom he was raising.
The later it got, the more Kaiah's eyes got heavy. The guys didn't look like they were leaving anytime soon so she went ahead and went to bed, knowing Kaison would make sure she was safe and locked in.
When she woke up the next morning, she had a text from Kaison.
Duke: Morning sleeping beauty, had to leave early to check on Keymani. She wasn't feeling good and wanted her daddy otherwise I would have stayed and fixed us breakfast.
Kaiah: It's cool Duke, give my niece a kiss for me and tell her I said to feel better.
She replied to her brother then put her phone back on the dresser before getting up and heading to the kitchen. She took out some bacon, eggs, and pancake mix to fix her some blueberry pancakes. She was bent over getting a pan when she heard a voice behind her that scared her half to death.
"Damn, a nigga could get used to waking up to this every morning," Deonte said licking his lips.
"Oh shit!" Kaiah cussed, remembering she only had on a cami and boyshorts. She tried to run past Deonte, but he lightly grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him. He palmed her ass and buried his face in her neck, lightly biting it.
Kaiah was getting weaker by the second, she didn't know what had gotten into her, or him for that matter.
"What's for breakfast?" he asked.
"Uhh...p...pancakes and, ahhh!" she let out when she felt Deonte insert a finger in her. She was trembling and losing her balance, so she wrapped her arms around him while he worked his fingers. All of a sudden, she felt a pressure build up inside her then she felt a gush of her juices come out while she shook uncontrollably.
Deonte smirked, proud of his work. He picked her up and carried her up the stairs until he reached her room. He laid her on the bed and went to the bathroom to start her shower for her. He was cussing himself out under his breath because he wanted her in the worst way but he wasn't about to pressure her into doing anything. He would just chill and play his cards right. Taking it one day at a time, right? "This shit is going to be way harder than I thought," he said to himself while shaking his head.
3-Your Secrets Are Safe With Me
Angel sat in the hot water in the tub filled with bubbles, listening to her music. She had her head laid back while reflecting back on her life. All her life, all she wanted was for someone to love her. Her father was an abusive alcoholic and would beat on her and her mother any chance he got. Her mother was too scared to leave him, so she allowed herself and her only daughter to be a personal punching bag.
When Angel was sixteen, she was walking home from school one day when she was brutally raped. She told her mother and father what happened but her father didn't believe her; in his mind Angel was out being fast. He made her mother put her out and that was the last time she’d seen them, three years ago. The day she met Kaiah was the best day of her life.
Angel was sixteen and living on the streets. She didn't have any friends or family that she could stay with so she would find abandoned houses and sleep in them. She would steal food and whatever she needed to take care of her hygiene.
