Chapter 1
Lily Masters heard her doorbell ring and smiled. She opened the door to find the object of her deepest affections. Sean Jackson was standing on the other side of the doorway with a bouquet of lilies in his hands and that incredible smile on his face.
“Hi beautiful,” he said smiling down at her from his six foot four height.
From the beginning Lily had fallen for his dark brown eyes and warm smile. His medium brown skin was a direct contrast to her dark chocolate complexion and her five foot four height gave him a distinct advantage over her that made her have to look all the way up to see his face.
“Hi yourself,” she answered giving him her double dimpled smile.
He handed her the flowers. “These are for you. Beautiful lilies for the beautiful Lily.”
She took them and he entered her apartment giving her a light kiss on her lips.
“Thank you Sean.” Lily turned to put the flowers in water. Before she took a step, Sean wrapped his arms around her waist and picked her up.
“Sean!” she screeched laughing as he carried her into the kitchen.
Sean settled her on the counter and stepped between her legs as she sat the flowers to the side.
“Did you paint today?” he asked caressing the dimple in her cheek.
“Yes.”
“Are you done?”
“Yes.” She smiled up at him.
“Is there anything else you want to do today?” he whispered to her.
She nodded watching dark brown eyes.
“What is that?”
“You,” she answered grabbing the hem of his shirt and pulling it over his head. Lily placed her hands on his hard brown chest absorbing its warmth and strength. She loved Sean's body. It was lean and toned, not overly muscled, and smooth to her touch. He had a light sprinkling of soft dark hair on his chest and dark brown flat nipples. Her hands moved around to his solid back pulling him closer.
“I believe I can accommodate that.” Sean lifted her off the counter and Lily tightened her legs around him as he carried her to her bedroom. Once there he lowered her gently onto the bed. Climbing over her he stared down into her face.
“Beautiful Lily, tell me your desire,” he whispered watching her.
This is what Lily loved most about Sean. He never assumed he was the master of her desires who provided her every pleasure. He was always considerate enough to ask her what she wanted first. He placed her pleasure above his own.
She answered, “I want to be conquered by your strength, consumed by your spirit and fulfilled by your passion.”
Sean lowered his body to hers and turned them on their sides. “You know what you do to me when you talk that way,” he told her kissing her lips gently.
This was the second thing about Sean that Lily loved; the way he kissed her. Sean had a way about him that was never rushed or hurried. He took his time and methodically did…everything. His kiss was a gentle assault that removed any and all inhibitions she may have had. He started by first tasting her lips; a lick, a nip, a suck and then all over again and again, until she was moaning for more. He moved to engaging her mouth and he teased her tongue with his, savoring her taste and texture. And when she could finally take no more, he completely captured her mouth holding her head in place to receive the full experience.
Once he’d completely taken her breath away he moved away to stand beside the bed staring down at her with that dark brown gaze. Sean held out his hand and helped her to her knees on the bed facing him. Silently he reached for the hem of her shirt pulling it over her head as Lily raised her arms to accommodate him. Once removed, he dropped the garment to the floor.
His eyes caressed her in a white satin push up bra while his hands moved to her jeans. After slowly unfastening them, he slid them down from her waist and Lily fell back onto the bed for him to remove them completely. Sean’s hands slid slowly down her thighs and legs until her pants fell to the floor joining her shirt. Lying back on the bed in her satin bra and matching panties she smiled up at him.
Sean stared down at her. “You look like chocolate, you feel like silk and you taste like honey,” he said removing her underwear until she was completely naked before him.
Yet another thing she loved about him. For a normally quiet man who didn’t say much unless it was necessary, he was very well versed in verbal foreplay saying things that quickly sent her over the edge. Because of her size, Lily did not care for the missionary position style of physical love. It made her feel trapped and smothered. This was not a problem for Sean as he was more than willing to try any position that she desired.
Sean lifted an eyebrow. “I’m waiting.”
Lily knew what he was waiting for. Her decision on how he was going to blow her mind, because no matter what position she chose the results were always the same. Lily got to her knees facing him. She ran her hand down his bare chest before touching her lips to his. Smiling she grabbed a couple of pillows and turned her naked backside to him.
“Now,” she said glancing back over her shoulder at him.
Sean slid his arms around her with his hands coming to caress her full plump breasts. He kissed the back of her neck. “I’m going to make you shatter into a thousand pieces,” he whispered moving his hands lower. “And then…I’m going to do it all over again.”
Lily bent over. “I know.”
Lily awakened in her bed alone but completely satisfied. She glanced out of the window and saw it was now early evening. Only Sean could blow her mind and dominate her body this way. Whenever he made physical love to her, she was knocked out afterward for at least thirty minutes. Her body required that much time to rejuvenate after being repeatedly shattered. She found him on her sofa doing something on his phone.
He looked up and when he saw her he smiled.
“I was wondering if I was going to have to come and wake you,” he told her.
Lily saw the flowers he’d brought now in a vase of water on the table and smiled back at him.
“Yeah, this time was longer than usual.” She joined him on the sofa. “I still don’t understand how you do that. It’s never happened before.”
Sean sat his phone aside. “It’s never happened before because you weren’t with the right man.”
Lily looked away and stood. Sean grabbed her hand and gently pulled her back onto his lap.
“Are you ever going to tell me who he is?” Sean asked.
Lily shook her head in the negative looking down.
“Do I have to find out on my own?”
She looked up. “I don’t want you to do that.”
Sean watched her. “It bothers me that you don’t want me to know who he is and what happened between the two of you.”
“He doesn’t matter,” she said softly.
Sean nodded slowly still watching her. “Jordan and Sage invited us over for dinner. I told them I had to check with you first.”
She laughed. “I’m surprised they want to see us. They see us almost every day at work.”
“But I love any chance I can get to see little Diamond.”
Sean smiled. “I know. She’s adorable. I can’t believe she’s three months old already.”
“She’s growing so fast,” Lily agreed. “Maybe Jordan will even let us hold her this time”
Sean shook his head. “Jordan was crazy about Sage, but h e’s outright maniacal about Diamond.”
“What kind of Godparents can’t even touch the child?” Sean questioned.
“I think he would really kill someone if they tried to hurt Sage or Diamond,” Lily said shaking her head.
Wouldn’t be the first time, Sean thought.
Lily stood. “I’m going to take a shower and get dressed.”
“We can stop by my place on the way so I can change,” Sean said watching her leave.
Sean picked up his phone again. Lily was hiding something from him. He had been patient up to this point, but the look she got on her face whenever he mentioned this mystery man didn’t sit well with him.
This may be a problem, he thought.
As Lily showered she began to reminiscence about her first encounter with Sean; had it really been over a year ago already? She remembered it like it was yesterday. Lily had gone to help her friend Sage move into her new apartment only to find a gorgeous man exiting from the kitchen area. Her breath had stopped for a moment when he'd smiled at her and when he’d taken her hand, she hadn’t wanted to let go. She’d asked the Universe not to let this beautiful warrior belong to her friend Sage.
Sage’s brother Ray had arrived while she’d still been held spellbound by Sean. Ray had immediately begun to shower her with his attention, but all of Lily's attention had been on the man who had quietly taken charge and gotten everything completed.
Sean was tall and slim with brown sugar colored skin. He had dark brown eyes that held you captive and a smile that made you weak. A square jaw, regal nose and full lips framed by a full dark goatee completed his face. Later she found out that Sean worked as an Assistant to Sage’s boyfriend, Jordan Black at Black Diamond Holdings, the largest holding business in the Los Angeles area. Jordan and Sean were childhood friends as well.
From the beginning Lily had been moved by Sean's energy. He had a calm and a stillness that she needed. He was also brilliant with a J.D. in Law from Harvard University. Sean was always kind and respectful and he made her feel as if she were the most special woman in the world.
Lily knew that she was in love with Sean, but that was something she had never told him and had no plans to at all. She wasn't the woman he thought she was and she was not in a position to give her heart to anyone.
Lily's first love had always been painting, something that she had inherited from her father. After suffering from a broken arm that had required nearly six months to heal, she was thankful to have regained the opportunity to do what she loved again. Lily's love of painting had led her to study Fine Arts at Oxford University where she met her good friend Sage Parker now Sage Black.
Sage and Lily had roomed together at the University; the two had shared everything and became as close as sisters. Naturally, they had gravitated to one another both being African American and students of Khemet. Lily and Sage embraced their African heritage and understood who they were and the natural beauty they each possessed. While Sage wore her natural hair in long braids or twists, Lily wore hers in a natural kinky twist afro that framed her dark chocolate, heart shaped face like a crown. She had dark almond shaped eyes and deep dimples in each cheek. What Lily lacked in height she more than made up for in generous curves.
After graduating Lily had gone on to work at a few prestigious galleries in the UK, Africa and in the States. Her own personal success in painting however, had not taken off to the level she had hoped. She'd been told that her work didn't hold enough passion. That it didn't speak to people and that she needed more emotion behind her colors. Lily hadn't understood what that meant until recently.
Today her creativity and passion flowed like a rushing river. She'd actually sold more than a few pieces since moving to Los Angeles. Sage owned a gallery in LA where Lily worked and when Sage had encouraged Lily to display some of her work, it had actually resulted in sales. Lily had no doubt as to what was the source of her new found muse. Sean. He inspired her in more ways than one. She had to constantly remind herself not to get too caught up with him. She would not allow anyone else to be hurt.
The couple arrived at Jordan and Sage’s place in time for dinner to be served. They all sat on an outside patio area.
“Sage, I swear, it doesn’t even look like you’ve had a baby at all,” Lily commented watching her friend. Lily had always envied Sage's tall five eight frame. Being what people called a “shorty” all the time was not fun.
Sage smiled at her with big brown eyes. “Thank you Lily. That’s so sweet. I have gained a few pounds though.”
“And she’s keeping them,” Jordan added holding his daughter over his shoulder.
Sage gave her husband a look which prompted him to stand and walk over to her.
“You are beautiful just the way you are pretty girl,” he told her and she smiled at him. He kissed her and she held her arms out for the baby. Reluctantly he handed his daughter over.
Sage looked across the table. “Would you like to hold her Lily?” she asked giving her husband a warning look when his face became dismayed.
Lily looked to Jordan then back at Sage. “Actually I would,” she said hesitantly. “If it’s okay?”
“Its fine,” Sage answered standing and walking over to Lily’s seat.
Sean watched Jordan’s face in amusement as Jordan came and sat across from Lily watching her like a hawk as Sage put the baby in her arms.
Lily stared down at the little girl who had her mother’s big brown eyes and her father’s mahogany complexion.
“She’s so beautiful,” Lily exclaimed.
“Thank you,” both parents answered.
Sean leaned over Lily to see the tiny face. He reached out and touched her tiny foot and Jordan flinched.
“Jordan. Nobody is going to hurt your baby. Calm down.” Sean laughed.
Sage went and sat on her husband’s lap looping her arms around his neck and kissing him lightly on the lips.
“Jordan, what are you going to do when she start’s dating?” she asked.
Jordan’s eyes narrowed. “Stop. Now,” he told her.
Everyone around the table laughed…except Jordan.
Sean looked back over at Lily holding the baby in her arms. She looked completely enamored by the little sweet smelling bundle. Glancing back at him she smiled.
Looking back at the baby, she asked Jordan and Sage if they were going to have more.
“Hell no!” Jordan replied.
“Jordan!” Sage said staring at him.
Jordan shook his head. “After what I went through?”
“Nooooooo. Oh no!”
Sage put her hand on her hip. “And what exactly did you go through Jordan?” she asked confused.
Jordan looked into her face. “I had to watch you in pain, screaming your ass off and there was nothing I could do about it,” he said with emotion. “I never want you to go through that again.”
Lily looked over at Sean and then back at the couple. She’d never seen Jordan show this type of emotion. Usually he was all about business, but apparently his love for Sage overruled that.
Sage touched a hand to her husband’s bearded cheek. “I’m fine now Jordan. It was worth it.”
Jordan shook his head. “We can do what makes babies all day every day, but there will be no actual babies as a result.”
Sean shook his head. Jordan was his best friend from childhood and they worked together every day, but he never knew what was going to come out of Jordan’s mouth.
Lily looked back down at the beautiful baby in her arms. Sage had said it was worth it. She glanced back at Sean who was watching her.
Sean drove Lily home after their dinner with the Blacks. In the car he looked over at her.
“I'd like for you to come stay with me this weekend,” he said taking her hand.
Lily turned to him. “What are we going to do all weekend?”
“Anything you like.”
“Will you play for me?” she asked smiling and he groaned. Sean was an accomplished piano player having taken lessons most of his young life, but he rarely played, especially in front of an audience.
“Hmmmm...there would have to be some type of incentive or reward.”
“Like?”
