Luna nods and points her finger toward Xandar. Noryad uses his power and looks for the enemy and it is not far from Xandar. It is a Destroyer. Noryad releases his magic and makes a hand with his magic and captures it with his magic hand and brings to her and shows it to Luna. “Is this the one?”
Luna nods again. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Noryad smiles. “Are there any more in this room?”
Luna shakes her head. “No.”
Noryad nods, satisfied. “Good.”
As he snaps his finger releasing his magic once again the Destroyer starts feel a pressure coming over his head pushing him down to get smaller and smaller as there is an unknown pressure crushing him. As time goes by they hear his bones breaking the smaller he gets until he disappears, leaving no trace of being there in the first place.
Noryad turns to Luna. “Now I’m going to tell you about what I am looking for and I need to know if you are willing to do it.”
Luna nods. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Noryad proceeds to explain the process of being a Watcher to Luna. She sits there quietly and listens to what Noryad has to say. Once Noryad finishes, Luna says with certainty in her voice, “Yes, I will do it.”
“Are you sure this is what you want to sacrifice your life for?”
Luna nods once again. “Your Majesty, my life was destined to end at the hands of the Destroyer you have already killed. It was prophesied that I was going to become the Watcher since the beginning.”
Noryad gives her a hug. “Thank you, Luna, what you have done today will never be forgotten.”
Lunas hugs him back. “No, thank you, Your Majesty, for giving me a purpose when I had none.”
Noryad nods. “I will come for you soon and we will start the barrier that is going to protect Behemoth City.”
Luna and Xandar nod. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Noryad disappears with a flash of black light, heading to see Coral and tell her what was happening.
Chapter 3
Noryad appears in front of his room and immediately knows that Coral is in it without having to use magic to call her, as he can hear the water running since she is taking a hot shower. Noryad enters the room and proceeds to takes off his clothes and opens the bathroom door and goes in to join Coral in the shower.
Coral notices the moment Noryad enters the room, she can feel his presence near thanks to their bond. She hears the door open and moves to the side to let him get his body wet. She is transfixed by his body as she spots the phoenix shining on his back. She puts her hand on his back and she starts to feel hot and hungry as her body reacts to his body. Noryad turns around to face her and when she looks into his eyes she sees the same hunger is reflected in his eye. He captures her mouth in a deep, consuming kiss that makes her lose her breath as he pins her against the wall the water hitting their bodies. He stops for a moment, to let his hand begin exploring her body, making her hotter and hungrier every time his hand moves to a different area of her body. She can hear him groaning when she takes his shaft into her hands and starts stroking it. Soon after his fingers find their way into her wet, aching core. He keeps moving his fingers inside of her until she is close to exploding and he suddenly stops, he looks at her with a mischievous grin. He licks his fingers and says, “We will finish this after we talk.”
Noryad walks out of the shower, not long after he leaves Coral follows right behind him. The sensual lover that was with her in the shower has completely disappeared from his body language and now a king is standing in front of her.
Noryad motions for her to sit. After taking a deep breath he proceeds to tell Coral what is bothering him and what he is going to do to take care of the situation. He mentions the barrier he is creating to protect Behemoth City and as well as the Watcher. He keeps the location of the Watcher and how to destroy the system a secret. He has to be extra careful with the information he gives away; he knows everything is safe with his Goddess but he stills needs to be careful.
Coral knowing Noryad has kept some information from her she says, “I understand the reason to be careful, my love, and we don’t know who could be listening to this conversation right now.”
Noryad takes a deep breath and says, “I am truly sorry, mi Diosa. I promise you that I’m doing this for the good of everyone, I love you.”
“I love you.”
Noryad walks toward Coral and captures her mouth and makes love to her for the rest of the night. Afterward Coral fall asleep instantly, but Noryad keeps thinking about how everything must be going with Blaze on the other side of the big sea.
Chapter 4
Blaze has been hearing the calling stronger now and he knows he is almost there as the ruins seem to be getting smaller the further he goes. He can see a big city on the horizon. He keeps driving his motorcycle with his powers, using them to make his driving faster so he can make it to the city before night comes, but suddenly he senses danger and decides to stop driving. He proceeds to hide the motorcycle behind some rubble on the side of the road. He gets off his bike and goes to see what’s on the other side of the rubble. He spots three Saviors beside a fire and they have a woman bound and gagged. The person is moving her head around and she sees Blaze looking her way. Her eyes grow wide in surprise. Blaze motions for her to not make any noise and the woman nods almost imperceptibly in agreement.
One of the Saviors proceeds to slap the person across the face, slamming her to the ground. The woman starts to whimper in pain but shoots him a glare filled with killing intent. The Savior ignoring her looks up to where Blaze had been standing. Blaze thinking back to what Selene uses and remembers that she uses called shuriken and tries to make his fire take that form and infuses it with holy water, watching as the flames turn blue. Once he makes them, he hides them behind his back as he stands up over the rubble once again this time looking toward the Saviors and says, “Excuse me, could you help me reach the city?”
The three Saviors stand up and take out their weapons, turning to the location the voice came from. They see Blaze and devilish grins come across their faces as they put their weapons back in their sheaths. “Well if you come down here with us we could help you.”
Blaze walks down through the rubble. “Oh man, thank you so much, I really appreciate the help. But first, why don’t you do me a favor and die?”
Blaze takes out his hands from behind his back, propelling the shuriken into the heads of each Savior. Suddenly the Saviors fall back, dead. Blaze hurries to untie the rope and remove the gag from the woman’s mouth.
“Thank you for saving me. My name is Lucille.”
“Rick Blaze.” He holds out a hand to help her up. “I am heading to the city.”
“Well, Rick, I was heading toward the city before I was captured,” Lucille says.
“Come on, I’ll get you back to the city safely,” Blaze says. Lucille hesitates for a moment, eyeing him warily. “Don’t flatter yourself, Lucille. I’m not interested.” Blaze goes back to the rubble to get to his motorcycle as an idea forms in his head. “And for the record, you aren’t my type so now that we got that out of the way are you still interested on getting a ride?”
“No. I don’t trust strangers and I think I can take care of myself.”
“That’s now the way it looked a moment ago, but suit yourself then.”
Blaze revs the motor and spins the tires, dust covers Lucille as he drives away. Lucille starts coughing for a few seconds as she stares in astonishment as the sexiest guy she has ever met just simply ignored her. “I can’t believe he isn’t interested in me; I refuse to believe so.”
While Blaze drives he smiles as he remembers when he told that woman that he is wasn’t interested, and he thinks to himself, “Oh boy, what my friends would think if they heard that.”
Blaze continues driving as the city moves closer into view.
Chapter 5
Blaze is driving through the city when something catches his attention. He stops his motorcycle, gets off, and walks toward what seems to be a temple. There’s something familiar about it and as he gets closer he notices what makes it familiar is the phoenix emblem carved into the wall. It is the same one that Noryad has tattooed on his back. As he approaches, his senses scream danger. He stops, but then he continues walking and gets the same feeling that he got when he was walking through one of the machines they have in the Lost City that detected whether he could enter or not. As he continues walking he knows he can enter, but he has a feeling that it is not the right time to enter come over him. He turns around and heads back to his motorcycle before going straight to the city. He sees another big temple in the distance. Moving closer he starts to see people walking toward the temple. Blaze comes to a stop.
“Hey, I’m Rick Blaze. I was wondering…why are there so many people walking toward the temple?”
The guy turns to look at Blaze with a faraway look and says, “I must answer the call.”
Blaze then realizes that the Holy Flames must have called every fire user in this direction, not just him. Blaze revs the motorcycle and heads to the temple at full speed, leaving everyone behind, hoping to see who or what the Holy Flame is.
After a twenty minutes or so, he arrives at the temple and he starts to look for a place to put his motorcycle. Once he finds a place to park he gets off and activates the security panel installed in it and the inputs the code that Brock told him to use when he first got the motorcycle. With the security code active, he starts to walk toward the main gate. Heading toward the main gate he loses his breath as he spots a red-haired, Asian beauty with the orange eyes; they look like they are two flames consuming everything in their path. He also notices that she is far stronger than he thought as he approaches her.
“Hello, beauty on fire, I am Rick Blaze.”
The woman turns to looks at Blaze in annoyance. “Well, Rick Blaze, it’s good knowing your name, but I don’t think it will matter much since you won’t last long enough to leave an impression on me. Guard, take him away, he’s a bother.”
Suddenly a guard appears to take him away. “Blaze, is that you?”
Blaze turns around and shock registers on his features. “It can’t be! The last thing I heard you were killed in the war. I didn’t expect you to be alive.”
The woman cuts in, “Umm, care to explain this, Mr. Blake?”
“I am sorry, Goddess of Fire, but this man is my son.”
“Dad, who is this woman? Goddess of Fire?” Blaze asks, confused.
“Well, my son, she is Kenna Flames, the Goddess of Fire.”
Chapter 6
Blaze and Blake head right away toward Blake’s house. Blaze still can’t hide the amazement from his eyes and he says, “Goddess of Fire, I can’t believe it, this has been a great surprise. Not only has the Holy Flame called me here, but I find the Goddess of Fire.”
Upon hearing that Blake says, “Repeat that again, son. What did you just say? We must inform the Goddess; she needs to know about this.”
Blaze says, “Blake, I am a grown man now. I have been fighting since I was young. I only answer to two people in this life, and those are The King of Death and the Leader of the Never Too Late Guild.”
“You are right, Blaze. You had to deal with the news of me being dead, and you have grown up to be more than I thought I could be. Can you tell Kenna what you told me? She really needs to hear it, but if you don’t want to then I understand, my son.”
Blaze says, “I will tell her because I know how this works, but I need to know what is happening right now. I was drawn here with no explanation. Why did I have to come here because of a summons from something that I still have to meet? What is really happening? Why are these fire users being called here after all this time?”
Blake says, “Well, I guess this is going to take a while, but you deserve to know considering that you will be getting involve and especially since you were summoned. The thing is that we are currently at war with the Saviors. From what we have gathered we know they want to use the Holy Flame to destroy the world. I am leading the warriors that are willing to hear and follow my command so the Saviors don’t reach the Holy Flame. While Kenna has been with us, taking part in this war, she isn’t involved much when it comes to fighting the enemy. She is passing down orders for me to follow, but we are getting tired. Rather recently we started seeing fire users come here to fight, but they were more interested in asking about the Holy Flame since that is what called them here. Kenna told me that she has used her powers to compel fire users to come here but she wasn’t sure if it was working or not. Once they started arriving and helping us with the war, we assume it was her powers, but after what you just told me, I am completely certain that the Holy Flame has called everyone here. It came with one purpose.”
“Which is?” Blaze asked.
“Looking for its owner.”
“Well, we’ll see in time who it is.”
Blaze makes a flame and uses holy water to turn it blue. This surprises Blake, knowing that he never showed Blaze how to do it. It also makes him feel proud that his son has made it but he realizes the problems it might bring him. “Don’t show that to anyone, Blaze. No one has been able to control fire infused with holy water. I can do it also, but no one else here can do it and they will kill to learn how to do it. They won’t be able to do it without the proper training; I am amazed and proud that you are able to do it.”
“Why is that?”
“Because only the Blaze bloodline has been able to do it, our blood has been the only family to be able to manipulate holy water and fire, every other family that has tried throughout history hasn’t been able to do it, and those who do try die upon coming into contact with the mix. Not even Kenna can do it. I haven’t let her know that I can do it.”
“That you can do what, Mr. Blake?” Kenna asks from the doorway.
Chapter 7
Blake turns around and kneels in reverence to Kenna, but Blaze remains standing. Blake looks up. “Blaze, pay your respect to the Goddess of Fire.”
Blaze says, “Dad, I already told you to who I would pay respect, and I came here because the voice wouldn’t shut up. I came here for that same reason, and she doesn’t hold power over me. She may be the Goddess of Fire but I am Rick Blaze, fighter, and Protector of the Lost City. I have been fighting for a long time, and I have earned my status through blood being shed on the battlefield. In my eyes, you have to give respect to receive respect. I do admit I didn’t give the best impression at first, so I will admit my mistake, but I still won’t kneel to her.”
Kenna, annoyed, says, “It doesn’t matter, Blake. Answer my question. What is it that you can do that I must not know?”
Blake looking for something to lie about mentions the first thing that comes to mind says, “Well, it was that I can do things that you can’t do, for example…cooking.”
Kenna glares at him angrily. “I get your point, Blake. So what are we doing with everyone that keeps coming?”
Blake starts thinking when Blaze interrupts, “Goddess of Fire, I came here because the Holy Flame summoned me here and I believe it summoned everyone else also.” Blaze proceeds to explain what he was told and how he came to head in this direction.
“Which confirms my suspicions, it was the Holy Flame who summoned them, not me, which it means my time has come,” Kenna remarks. She turns around and leaves the room. Blaze turns to his father.
“What does she mean?”
“She may be the Goddess of Fire, but her main role is to be the protector of the Holy Flame until the chosen one comes and claims it. This would also make the chosen one her mate. She knows her mate will put a leash on her neck and control her movements.”
An unknown emotion flickers on the surface of Blaze’s mind; he would kill anyone who would put Kenna on a leash. Blake sees the look that has come across his son’s face and he knows that Blaze doesn’t like the thought of Kenna having a mate. Blake must make sure his son knows that nothing should happen between him and Kenna.
“Son, I don’t know what’s running through your mind, but I want to warn you if you plan to get involved with Kenna, and her mate appears, whatever happened between the two of you will be over then.”
“I know, Dad, but this is something you shouldn’t have to worry about. I can have some fun and not get attached. I have been doing so for so long that it’s like my second armor.”
“I just want you to be careful, my son. I don’t want you to get your hopes up and have them crushed by someone else. Follow me, I’ll show you what summoned you.”
Blake leaves the room and Blaze follows behind him.
“Hey, how were you able to survive and make it down here? And more importantly, did something happened to Mom?” Blaze questions.
A grim expression crosses Blake’s face. “Your mother and I were sent on a mission to look for help. We had to fight angels and demons, that’s what they still called themselves then. One day on the road we were ambushed by demons and we started fighting to protect each other. I didn’t notice the demon behind me and your mother pushed me out of the way. She was wounded defending me and I lost control. After losing myself to my anger and killing intent I killed everyone, I couldn’t distinguish enemy from an ally, but since all my opponents were demons I didn’t have to worry about that. During the last demon left to fights, I came out of my frenzy and in that moment of transition since I was coming back to myself I ended taking a deep cut, which was meant to kill me but I also killed him in the process. Putting some bandages on me and your mom, I continued walking until I collapsed and lost consciousness when I saw someone running my way yelling that they weren’t enemies. At that moment Kenna found me and your mom, and she had a healer cure me and your mom. After that, she told me that she needed someone with my knowledge of war and tactics to serve under her, and I took the opportunity to pay back the demons that were responsible for the wounds of my love. It was supposed to be only for a few weeks while we both recovered, but it ends up being years and since We had lost our way home and I couldn’t contact you or Vince.”
