  “You have a bed?”

“It’s a private plane,” He grinned. “Yes, there is a bed.”

“Fancy.” I was impressed. “I’ve never seen a bed on a plane before.”

“I’ve never seen you naked on a plane before.” He whispered into my ear and we made our way inside of the hangar. I stood to the side as he and the pilot walked to the back and started to discuss something. I sat down on a small chair and stared at the plane in front of me. It was smaller than a commercial jet, but larger than a two seater I’d been on as a child. I felt slightly overwhelmed and grabbed my phone to text the girls.

  Emily: I’m at the airport.

  Charlotte: That was fast.

  Anabel: Are you okay?

Emily: I’m fine. Stop being a worrywart. Everything is going to be okay.

Anabel: Emily, let’s hope you’re correct.

Charlotte: So what’s it like being on a private plane?

  Emily: I’m not sure yet.

Charlotte: Are you going to join the mile high club?

  Emily: Would be fun.

Charlotte: You guys are like rabbits.

  Emily: More like butterflies.

  Anabel: Huh?

  Emily: Look up butterflies online.

  Charlotte: What sort? Monarch?

Emily: Add battery operated to the search.

  Charlotte: Oh no way!

Anabel: Are you talking sex toy butterfly?

  Emily: You know it?

Anabel: I’m single. Not dead. I like pleasure too. Toys are my best friend.

  Emily: Oh my!

Charlotte: I’m laughing so hard right now.

  Anabel: She really is!

  Emily: Where are you guys?

Charlotte: On the way to the airport in the back of an Uber. We’re catching a plane in a little of two hours.

Emily: Shit, what have you told Max?

Charlotte: Nothing yet. Might just say we had a girls night and stayed at yours.

  Emily: Ugh.

Anabel: It’s better that he doesn’t know if you don’t want the police involved.

Emily: I know, but I feel bad.

  Anabel: …

Emily: I’m still going but I feel bad.

Charlotte: It will be okay. I’ll tell him everything when we get back.

Emily: He’s going to hate me.

  Charlotte: Never.

  Emily: Uh huh.

Anabel: Let’s focus on the task at hand and worry about that later, girls.

Emily: Hold on, I’m getting another text.

I switched over to my the new text from Matteo. I looked around but I couldn’t see him.

Matteo: Who are you typing to so o furiously on your phone?

  Emily: Why?

Matteo: You’re going to make me jealous.

  Emily: Okay.

  Matteo: Is it a man?

  Emily: Maybe.

  Matteo: Maybe?

  Emily: That’s why I typed.

  Matteo: Okay.

Emily: Matteo, stop it. Turn it off. NOW

Matteo: Is it turning you on?

  Emily: No.

  Matteo: Liar.

Emily: Matteo, stop it please. It’s going too fast. I’m not going to be able to control myself.

Matteo: Close your eyes and imagine that butterfly is me.

  Emily: No.

Matteo: That movement on your clit if my tongue. And it’s moving faster now. Don’t you love it. The feel of my tongue rubbing, caressing, taunting you into orgasm.

Emily: Matteo, please. It’s too much. I can’t stand it right now.

Matteo: I wish it was me. I wish I could stick my tongue into right now. I want to fuck you again so badly. Only this time, I’d slip a finger into your ass as well.

  Emily: Matteo!

Matteo: I’d take your ass cherry. Oh yeah. Have you ever been fucked and fingered at the same time.

  Emily: No.

  Matteo: Would you like that?

Emily: No. Matteo, stop, it’s going faster now.

I had to put my phone on my lap as the vibrator took control of all of my functions. I closed my eyes involuntarily and imagined it was Matteo sucking on my clit. I was wet and horny and the butterfly seemed to be going even faster than ever. I wondered where Matteo was and if he was watching me. I reached my hand down between my legs and touched myself. If he wanted a show he was going to get it. I then squeezed my breasts and pretended it was him touching me. About two minutes later I felt an orgasm hit me and I fell back in the chair, whimpering slightly to myself before opening my eyes and pushing down my skirt again. Seconds later I felt the vibrator stopping. I picked up the phone and looked at Matteo’s last messages.

Matteo: Damn you’re fucking hot. I love watching you touch yourself. Oh shit, you like that baby, don’t you. I want to be the one touching your tits. I want to titty fuck you. I want to bend you over backwards. Ah, yeah, you’re coming now. I love watching your face when you come. Oh yeah, baby, come for me. Ha! Tell whoever you were talking to that I just made you come once again and I didn’t even have to touch you. Your body is mine, Emily. No-one else will ever give you pleasure like I do.

Emily: I think you’ll find that I gave myself that pleasure, thank you very much. You had nothing to do with it. And no, I don’t think I’ll be telling anyone anything about the orgasm I just had. Are we ready to board yet?

Matteo: You’ve got a smart mouth, don’t you? I feel like you need some balls to take care of that.

  Emily: Balls?

Matteo: As in my balls in your mouth to shut you up.

  Emily: You wish.

Matteo: But you seem to be making all my dreams come true.

  Emily: Really?

  Matteo: Yes.

“Emily, get off your phone.” Matteo suddenly appeared next to me with the pilot. “It’s time for us to get on the plane.”

“Yes, Sir.” I stood up and glared at him, praying to God that the pilot had not also seen me getting off. How embarrassing would that be?

“No need to call me, Sir.” Matteo grinned at me. “Though if that’s something that turns you on then I’m happy to oblige.

“No comment, Matteo.” I glared at him and followed behind him as we made our way into the plane. I settled into the plush camel covered leather seat that he pointed me towards and accepted the glass of wine that was promptly delivered to me.

“I’ll be in the cockpit.” He said as he made sure I was all settled in. “Relax and I’ll be back with you soon.”

“Okay.” I said and I watched as he confidently walked to the front of the plane. I shivered in my seat as I stared out of the window and observed the night sky. This really was the beginning of a brand new adventure and I had no idea where it was going to end up taking me.

“Welcome to Miami International Airport.” A husky voice woke me up from my deep slumber and I opened my eyes and looked at Matteo’s face as he stared down at me. “You must have been tired.” He said with a small smile. “You slept all the way.”

“I guess I was.” I said as I sat up and looked outside the window. “Wow, we’re here already?”

“Yes.” He nodded. “Hopefully, you can get in contact with your parents this morning.”

“Yeah.” I nodded. “I also need to let my job know that I will not be coming in today.” I made a face. “They are not going to be happy.”

  “Just tell them you’re sick.”

“Yeah.” I reached down to grab my handbag and take my phone. I saw that I had two text messages from Anabel and Charlotte telling me that they were going to be arriving later that day and had booked a room at a hotel on Ocean Drive in South Beach and to let them know when I arrived and what was going on. I scrolled through to my mom’s number and tried to call her. The call went directly to voicemail and I frowned. I then tried my dad’s number and it went directly to voicemail as well. “My parents phones are off.” I said to Matteo as he watched me.

“What?” His eyes narrowed. “Both of their phones are off?”

“Yeah.” I could feel my head pounding. “So either their batteries died…” I paused and looked at him.

“Or they turned their phones off because they’re on a plane.” He looked pissed. “Do you think they’ve left the country already? I can’t help them if they absconded from the country with stolen diamonds, Emily.” His fists were clenched and I could see that he was angry.

“No.” I swallowed hard, suddenly scared for my parents. What had they done? “I don’t think they left. They wouldn’t just leave without letting me know.” I had no idea if that was really true, but I didn’t want Matteo to go ballistic. “What are we going to do now?"

“Okay, I hope they haven’t been stupid.” He looked thoughtful. “We will go to my home in Biscayne Bay. I need to make some calls.”

“You have a home in Biscayne Bay?” I stared at him. “Isn’t it expensive there?”

“Well the house is actually in Coral Gables. Do you know Miami well?” He looked surprised.

“No.” I shook my head. “Though Charlotte is from Florida. She told me once that Miami was a city built up by the drug trade and that to the outside world it is this fancy glittery place but all that glitters is not gold.”

  “Oh?” He raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah, there’s an area called Brickell and basically all those high rises were built by families that were laundering money or something.” I shrugged. “I don’t know the full story, but I guess there are a lot of criminals in Miami.”

“There are a lot of criminals everywhere, Emily. In New York, Miami, the churches, the White House.” He laughed. “Depends on what you consider a crime?”

“I guess I never thought about it like that.” I ran my hands through my hair. “I’m just surprised you have a house in Miami. I didn’t know FBI officers made that much money.” My statement was leading, but I didn’t want to ask him directly how much money he made.

“We’re about to land. You can use the bathroom over there to wash your face.” He pointed to the back of the plane as he changed the subject. “I have some clothes in the house you can change into. Then we will try and figure out what’s going on with your parents.”

“Okay.” I stood up and looked into his eyes. “I hope they are okay.”

“Me too.” He said and then he kissed me on the forehead. “Even in the morning you are sexy as hell.”

“You’re not so bad yourself.” I smiled at him. “Though I really wish I could have a shower right now.”

“I understand.” He kissed my lips. “I wish we could both have a shower right now.”

“Matteo,” I laughed and pulled away from him.

“I’m sad we didn’t get to join the mile high club.” He pouted. “But maybe on the way back.”

“Maybe.” I said with a small smile and then pulled away from him and walked towards the back of the plane to freshen up as best as I could.

We walked along the tarmac and towards a small office that was to the side of the main airport.

“Welcome back Mr. Fellini,” An older man said with a small nod. “Your car is outside.”

“Thank you, Jose.” He said with a smile. “Come, Emily. We will go home and then grab some breakfast. I’m sure you’re hungry.”

  “I am.”

“We’ll go to a Cuban place, I know. You can try a real cafe con leche.” He smiled as we walked out of the building and towards a parked limo. Standing next to the limo were two men, one dressed in a uniform, that I assumed was the driver and the other man was obviously much richer. He was younger than Matteo, with dark hair and green eyes. He stood tall and stocky and as he looked at me, I felt myself shivering at the intensity of his gaze. This man was gorgeous and fit. Though there was something about him that seemed cold and calculated. Who the hell was he? I looked over to Matteo’s face and he looked furious. He was muttering something under his breath and I could tell that he was angry.

“Who’s that?” I asked him quietly. He looked at me for a few seconds and I could see him thinking. His expression looked surprised and annoyed and I wondered what was going through his brain. There seemed to be so many things that he wasn’t tell me and that frustrated me.

“He’s another agent.” He said finally as we stopped in front of the two men. “Emily, please meet Special Agent Franco.” He nodded towards the man that was looking at me with an amused gaze and a curled lip. “Franco, this is Emily. It is her parent’s we are trying to help.”

“Emily.” Special Agent Franco nodded at me, his eyes alight with some emotion I couldn’t read. “A pleasure to meet you.” His eyes belied his statement. He didn’t look like he considered it a pleasure at all. “Matteo, good to see you. You didn’t think to tell me you were coming to Miami?”

“I didn’t know you were in Miami.” Matteo said stiffly.

“I didn’t know you were going to Miami.”

“And yet here you are.” Matteo’s eyes narrowed. “How?”

“Air Traffic control knows to notify me whenever someone wants to use the plane.”

“You have a guy at JFK?”

  “I have a guy everywhere.”

Matteo looked pissed off, but I could tell he was trying to control his temper. “You don’t trust me?”

“You didn’t tell me you were coming to Miami.” Franco shrugged casually. “You also didn’t tell me you were with the girl.”

“How did you know I was with the girl?”

  “She’s being tracked?”

  “How?” Matteo’s voice was threatening.

“There’s a chip in the business card.” Franco smirked as Matteo turned to me.

“Do you have the card Danny gave you?”

“It’s in my purse.” I nodded. “Why?”

“Take it out and give it to me.” He said thin-lipped and I reached into my purse and gave it to him. He stared at it and just muttered something under his breath.

“Your parents skipped town.” Franco looked at me. “Where are they?”

  “I don’t know.” I shook my head.

“And yet here you are.” He looked like he didn’t believe me.

I pursed my lips and didn’t answer him.

“She doesn’t know.” Matteo took a step towards him. “I’m taking care of it.”

“We had a deal Matteo. They were meant to…” He paused and looked at me. “I’m not happy.”

“Neither am I, but I told you I would take care of it.” Matteo shook his head. “What are you doing here? Why did you come to Miami?”

“I go wherever the diamonds go.” Franco smiled. “You know that."

“I was in charge of getting them back.” Matteo glared at the other man. “You know that.”

“I just wanted to be here in case you needed a second hand in getting them back, Special Agent Fellini.” The two men stared off for a few seconds and then the other man stepped back. “But you are the boss, let us go back to the casa.” He suddenly leaned in and hugged Matteo. Then he whispered something into Matteo’s ear that I struggled to hear but it sounded a lot like, “Don’t let pussy ruin everything, Capo.” I stood there feeling like the third wheel as Matteo pat the man on the back before turning to me. He gave me a warm smile and then reached over and tucked a stray flyaway piece of hair behind my ear.

“Smile my dear.” He said softly. “Enjoy the sunshine.”

  “What was that about?”

“Just office politics.” He shrugged. “You know how it is.” He kissed me on the lips. “He’s just jealous that I’m in charge of the case and have a hot girlfriend as well.”

“I’m your girlfriend now?” I blinked at him. “Just yesterday you were reminding me that you weren’t my boyfriend.”

“Well, we are moving quickly and maybe it’s too soon for labels, but I think that’s where we’re headed.” He didn’t blink as he stared in me intensely and I could feel my body heating up.

“I guess.” I said, happy at his words, yet something in my head was starting to ache. Alarm bells were going off in my head, yet I didn’t really know why. Something about this situation was off. It was almost too good to be true. Everything was falling into place too easily. I was glad now that Charlotte and Anabel were also in town. I wanted to trust Matteo, but a part of me felt like I was letting my body talk me into trusting him when I shouldn’t be.

“Don’t you like me like that?” He teased me. “Am I still too old for you?”

“Well, you’re not too old.” I shook my head. “I was stupid when I said that before. I just feel uneasy.” I explained. “I’m worried about my parents and now this new guy, this other agent.” I shrugged. “I don’t know. It’s just making me feel a bit off.”

“You need coffee and food.” He squeezed my hand. “Don’t worry, everything will be okay. And ignore Luca, he makes everyone feel a bit intense when he first meets them, but it will be okay. I can take care of him.”

“Okay.” I nodded. “I trust you, Matteo.” And as I said the words I knew that I had to trust him. He was all I had. I thought about his last words and something in my head started to pound. He’d called Special Agent Franco, Luca. Where had I heard that name before

Matteo looked at me for a few seconds, an expression of confusion on his face before he quickly smiled. “I will not let anything happen to you, Emily. You’re my beautiful precious flower. I shall always protect you.” He looked to the sky. “My momma was right.”

  “Oh? Right about what?”

“She said when you know, you know.” He ran a finger across my lips. “You will just know, my dearest Matteo, when it hits you it hits you.”

“When what hits you?” I asked him quietly, slightly confused.

“Love.” He said simply and then opened the car door for me. I slid into the backseat, my heart pounding at his words. They had been sincere, I knew that without a doubt. His eyes had held an intensity I’d never seen before. Matteo was my soulmate. I knew that in my bones. I’d known it from our first meeting, the way we’d connected, even through barbs. It all seemed too soon though. To good to be true. I also had no idea how I could tell Charlotte and Anabel. They would think we were both crazy. Even though I hadn’t said the words back to Matteo, I had wanted to. I loved him. I’d never felt this way about anyone else before in my life. I was in deep and I was more scared than I’d ever been in my life. I grabbed my phone and tried to call my parents number again, but both of their numbers continued to go to voicemail. I looked out of the window at the Palm Trees as the car made its way out of the airport and all I could think about was them and if they were safe. Once I met up with them, I was going to tell them both off. This was just not acceptable behavior. I then text Charlotte and Anabel back quickly letting them know that we were on the way to Coral Gables and that they should track my location. I quickly slipped my phone back into my handbag and sat back and observed the nonverbal communication that was going on between Matteo and Special Agent Franco.
