  Acknowledgments

I wrote this book following my total disillusionment with writing: I was ready to let go, write the way I wanted, and stop worrying what the outcome would be. Without the help of the following people, I might have given up entirely instead.

Thanks to Eddie Schneider and Lisa Rogers, who read this book and liked it even when I didn't want them to.

My writing group, the Seizure Ninjas, were instrumental as always. They have a knack for reading my work, loving it, and then telling me what I meant to be writing instead. Bryn's letter was all them, and the book didn't really work without it. Without them, all my books would be much worse.

Thanks to Stephanie Perkins, who I've never met, but whose incredible skill at getting emotion on the page inspired me to push my own work to be better, and a closer look at her mechanics taught me more about beats than any writing book ever had. I'm forever grateful for her fine example.

My freelance editor, Kristina Kugler, never ceases to amaze me. Her insights are always spot on, and making her changes is a joy. Thank you, Kristy, for your loyalty and your enthusiasm.

Thanks also to Isaac Stewart, as always, for his design advice and instruction, and to Melody Fender for her superb cover design.

My daughter played patiently for many hours while I was absorbed in this book. I am forever grateful for her.

And Drew, my own awkward romance. I definitely have a type, and you're it. Love you.

Jory and her parents are shape-shifters who can take any human form, and she's in training to join their lives of corporate espionage, where secrets are sold to the highest bidder. But when her parents disappear, Jory must track them down--but in a world where even faces are interchangeable, who can she trust?

When Kira's best friend, Haylee, commits suicide, she hides Haylee's journal. No one knows what happened to Haylee--but Kira can't let anyone find out what Haylee wrote down about her.

In a world where vampirism is an STD, sixteen-year-old April is being hunted and stalked by the man who raped and turned her. He's one step ahead of her at every turn, but April must find a way to retake control over her own life, and stop him once and for all.

Sixteen-year-old Penny wants nothing more than for her infertile mom to be able to adopt a baby...so she decides to get pregnant. What could go wrong with that?

Ricki is on the road with her bounty hunter father, when she develops a crush on the guy that he's chasing.
