The history would suggest that their names varied widely – hence the problems of naming my characters – I didn't want to use the 'real' names of the characters in the other parallel dimensions and foreign countries – difficult. Plus, there are a lot of ships and armament from other countries – can't just call everything a blaster when there is so much variation in the weapons available to people from different parallel worlds. You see the problem.
The one thing that is consistent across all worldlines is that politicians lie - they are often corrupt. Why wouldn't they be? The requirements to be a US Congressman is you have to 25 years old. You can be dumb as a rock (several). You don't have to pass the test that foreigners take to get citizenship – that would be WAY too hard for our folks. You have to be 30 to be a senator and 35 to be president. You can run for the Senate as a prisoner from any of our 50 states even though as a convicted felon you might not be allowed to vote. The only high paying job where you can vote yourself a pay raise even if you can't read – literacy is not a requirement (obviously).
