With mad scientists running amok and monsters on the loose, things have gotten slightly out of control. Hoping for answers, they embark on a journey of scientific inquiry and exploration, beginning their search at nearby Smuttynose Island. As so oftentimes happens for the Beans, however, things don’t exactly follow the intended plan. Soon enough, they become stranded on the island, confronted by a series of obstacles that challenge them on every level... and it doesn’t take long for them to realize Smuttynose might not be as deserted as they once believed. A mysterious figure moves among the shadows, attempting to foil their every move. An even more disturbing suspicion is that some THING might be on the island, as well... a thing that just might be beyond the Beans, despite their growing experience in the realms of weirdness. “The Green Beans” is a series of middle grade novels featuring elements of adventure, mystery, science fiction, and the paranormal. Please Take Care When You Utter A Curse

Please Take Care When You Utter A Curse

Doug Baird

Law / Economics

This unreasonably clean and sometimes edgy book of limericks takes a not quite nonsense view of the people, situations, institutions and attitudes which populate our world. For a drunk named Holiday the End of the World might just be the worst hangover he's ever had. Or, the beginning of one last post-apocalyptic binge. The end of the civilization is only the beginning as an odd band of survivors pull together to construct a modern-day castle amid the burning ruins of suburbia lost. As undead hordes and strange otherworldly monsters ravage what’s left of civilization, things begin to go from worse to weird as each survivor’s dark past unfolds, revealing that reality might be more than anyone ever thought, and that an ancient force from the outer dark has finally arrived to conquer. Stephen King’s The Stand meets Lost in an epic confrontation between good and evil that spans history, time, and space.

From the playful and whimsical to the deep and thought-provoking, Reflection Point is the perfect accompaniment to a little me-time. The collection, which is more than a decade in the making, encompasses a diverse array of elements making it suitable for young and old. There is a fine line between the optimistic pessimist and the pessimistic optimist. Adam Elias Zain does not help one little bit in drawing or defining a distinction between the two, merely creating an interesting curiosity within the reader to have a seat in the company of the writer's vivid thoughts. There is absolutely no promise that the poems will change your world or the way you think. Or will they? Reflection Point contains adult language.
