  PS. Float was written in 2013, which was my last year before becoming a mom, and I blame the overuse of the word butt in that book on my kid-less status. Now that I have four (kids, not butts), you’ll notice that word is used a lot less in this book. Which, considering my main character is the ever-naked Hank, is kind of an impressive trick. I apologize or you’re welcome . . . depending on where you fall on the derriere debate.

  I have so many people that I need to thank for letting me return to Camp Outlier for another year! I’d been dying to come back ever since I finished Float, and I owe Tara Weikum for loving Float and its cast of misfits enough to want to see what happened to them in their second year! Thank you for continuing to champion another book by Laura Martin. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to continue creating worlds with dinosaurs, sea monsters, and floating kids.
