“Ooh!” said Indi. “Look at the Moon!”
“It’s gigantic!” said Tex.
“Let’s make a wish on it!” said Indi.
“You don’t wish on the Moon,” said Tex. “You wish on stars.”
“Well, I don’t see any stars,” said Indi. “So I’m going to wish on the Moon!” She closed her eyes and said, “Moon light, Moon bright, first Moon I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight.”
“What did you wish for?” asked Tex.
“If I tell, it won’t come true,” said Indi.
“It’s Indi’s wish,” said Arizona. “She can keep it secret if she wants.”
“Then I’m making a wish and telling it!” said Tex. “Moon light, Moon bright, first Moon I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight.”
When they got home, they sat quietly staring up at the sky.
“Well?” said Indi. “Aren’t you going to say what you wished for?”
“OK,” said Tex. “I wished that you’d tell me your wish!”
