  Author’s Note

Just a couple of things before I let you go and get your read on. While I am doing my best to work with better editing and proofreading software, all my books are solo, independent works. I write my books, proofread my books, edit my books, create the covers, etc. I have one beta who gives me feedback on my stories, but other than that, all my books are independent projects.

That being said, I apologize, in advance, for the typos, grammar inconsistencies, or any other mistakes I may make. Since writing is strictly a hobby for me, I haven’t looked into commitments in regard to publishers, editors, etc. My hope is that my stories are enjoyable enough that a few mistakes, here and there, can be overlooked. However, if you’re a stickler for grammar, my books are probably not for you.

Also, I am an avid reader-I mean an AVID reader. I love to read above any other hobby. However, the only downside to my reading obsession is when I fall in love with a series, but I have to wait for the additional books to come out. So, because I feel that disappointment down to my soul, when I started publishing my works, I vowed to publish all books in my series all at once. No waiting here…LOL. Now, the exception to that will be if enough readers request additional stories based off the standalone, such as in Facing the Enemy. At that point, if I decide to move forward with a requested series, I will make sure all additional books are available all at once. As much as this is a hobby for me, I am writing these books for all of you, as well as myself.

  Thank you, for everything!

  Prologue

I knew that she hated me, but I didn’t care.

  I really didn’t.

This was our final year at Windsor Academy, and this was my last chance to make things right. It’s been three years, and as far as I was concerned, that’s been plenty of time for her to get over her bullshit.

With the help of Maddox and his unique computer skills, I had managed to get a copy of her schedule again. However, this time, I was in four of her classes with her, and that was the edge that I needed to move this shit along.

Our first class together was AP Chemistry, and I had made sure that Mr. Banner had assigned our seats and lab partners to ensure that she was stuck with me for the duration of our senior year. Granted, with my last name and family connections, it hadn’t taken him very long to comply, but still. Sometimes you had the righteousness rising to stand up against evil, and we were as about as evil as you could get.

  Okay, maybe not evil.

  However, definitely immoral.

Okay, correction: Crew and Lennon were evil, the rest of us were just immoral.

Glancing around the classroom, a part of me was glad that this part of my life was almost over. While I’ve always ruled this school like a king, I was over it. Being a McCellan or Reed came with a million perks at Windsor, and there hadn’t been much that we hadn’t gotten away with. However, maturity was a real motherfucker, and things had quickly started changing after R.J. had fallen in love with Lake last year.

Counting up to six, I also knew that my past was going to come back and haunt me this year, but I couldn’t help that. I’ve fucked my fair share of Windsor pussy, and there were six girls sitting in this classroom alone that I’ve fucked or who have had their lips wrapped around my dick.

Now, I could argue all day as to why I’d been fucking girls like it’d been my life’s mission, but none of that mattered. Regret wasn’t a good enough excuse to act reckless, and I’ve been acting like a reckless motherfucker for the past three years. It didn’t matter that I was a fanatic about protection, either. Everyone knew that condoms weren’t foolproof, though I’ve been lucky as fuck.

Besides, I could recall when Maddox and R.J. had been given ‘the talk’. Though Uncle Ramsey had been a couple of girls too late by then, he had told Mad and Ram to save something for the girl who would, one day, matter more than the rest, and that had stuck with me when Mad had told me about it.

While I’ve fucked too many girls to count, I’ve never cum in one. I’ve cum on them plenty of times, but never inside one. I’ve had lips, pussy, and ass, but I’ve always been wrapped up, and I’ve never unloaded in any of those orifices. I’ve never had a girl swallow or drip my seed from between her legs, and I couldn’t fucking wait for it to happen.

As Harper Crosby walked into AP Chemistry, I knew exactly who the lucky girl would be, and it didn’t matter that she hated me with the fire of a thousand suns.

I was in love with the girl.

I was in love with a girl who hadn’t spoken to me in three years, and who looked right through me whenever I was near her. I was in love with a girl who wished that I didn’t exist, and that was just too damn bad for her.

In fact, I almost felt sorry for her. She was in for one hell of a senior year, and she had no idea what was coming for her.

That I was coming for her.

The one thing that McCellans, Reeds, Marlows, and McIntires didn’t do was lose. We hadn’t been raised to accept defeat, and all anyone had to do was ask Lake Warren about that.

I watched as Harper glanced around the classroom, looking for an empty seat, and I saw the dread start to seep into those chocolate-brown eyes of hers as she realized that there was only one seat open in the entire classroom.

  The one next to me.

She quickly walked up to Mr. Banner, and I smirked as she was whispering her argument against sitting next to me. However, after a few animated exchanges, she looked back over towards me, her face saying it all, her lips pinched in anger.

How satisfying it was to have the prey coming right up to the predator.

  Chapter 1

  Chance~

Her laptop was slapped down on the table with enough force that I wouldn’t be surprised if she’d broken it. However, like all of us rich pricks attending Windsor, Harper Crosby had more than enough money to buy herself another one.

“What do you think you’re doing?” she hissed as she took the seat next to me.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I lied.

Harper turned to face me, and irritation-maybe rage-was flashing at me behind those blue-framed glasses of hers. Those normally warm brown orbs were anything but warm right now, but I could hardly blame the girl. Harper was a lot of things, but stupid was not on that list. She was wicked smart, something that her grades could attest to. I knew about her grades the same way that I knew everything else about her…Maddox.

“You’re lying,” she accused. “Mr. Banner has no reason not to allow me to switch seats with someone else unless he’s being forced not to.”

  The girl was right again.

As class kicked off, no one jumped to pay any kind of attention to anything that Mr. Banner was saying. The first day of school was always a rundown of the rules, school policies, and our syllabus for each class. However, because we were all rich, entitled, pretentious assholes, no one paid attention because retaliation didn’t exist at Windsor.

“Lying or not, it looks like you’re stuck with me, baby,” I told her. “Get used to it.”

Her back snapped straight at that. “Don’t count on it,” she bit out, turning back to face the front of the class.

“Unless you plan on dropping out of Windsor, I wouldn’t get too cocky,” I fired back. “If the school has to choose between changing your class schedule at your request and keeping it as is at my request, who do you think they’ll side with, Harper?”

She turned to look at me, fire flickering beautifully in her gaze. “Fine, I’ll play,” she replied through clenched teeth. “What’s the point of this?” Harper pointed back and forth between us. “What do you get out of sitting next to me in class?” Little did she know that I’d be sitting next to her in all our classes together. “Need me to carry your grade for you again?”

My jaw clenched, but what could I say? Plus, the look on her face was daring me to say something. Harper lifted her chin, unafraid of our long overdue confrontation. She might not be popular, social, or athletic, but she had a million other qualities that made her shine. However, it might be my fault if she didn’t know that.

“While I might deserve that, that’s not what this is,” I told her, ready to lay all my cards on the table.

“I honestly don’t care what this is,” she shot back. “I want no part of it. I want no part of you.”

“Well, that’s just too damn bad,” I fired back. “Because you’re my chemistry partner until graduation, so I suggest that you find a way to deal with it.”

Her hand came up, and while I wouldn’t be surprised if she slapped me, I watched as her finger pushed her glasses back up her face. Her eyes narrowed and it was probably safe to say that I was number one on her hate list.

“Mr. McCellan, Ms. Crosby, indoor voices, please,” Mr. Banner requested, and all I had to do was shoot him a look to shut him the fuck up.

When he immediately turned his attention back to the classroom as a whole, Harper was hissing like a viper. “I don’t know what your game is, but I am not letting you fuck up my grade, Chance. I don’t care who you are.”

I grabbed my stool by the seat and scooted my ass closer to her, trying to keep our conversation as private as possible. However, when Mr. Banner had addressed us, I had noticed several students looking our way, curious as to why I was harassing Harper Crosby.

“Well, you should,” I warned her. “You have no leverage here, Harper.”

The girl looked like she wanted to scratch my eyes out, but it was true. I’ve been doing whatever the fuck I’ve wanted since I was enrolled in Windsor, and there wasn’t a damn thing that anyone could do about it. It was well-known in Sands Cove that Uncle Ramsey had the dirtiest secrets of every living soul in this town, and that was enough to make people steer clear of our families. It hadn’t helped when R.J. had grown up to be just as ruthless as his father.

Our generation had done nothing but pick up where our parents had left off, though they really hadn’t left off on shit. All they’d done was move up to the major leagues, dealing with grown ass motherfuckers. We were still in the minors…well, not Ramsey Jr. or Dash. Already in college, they were well on their way to the majors.

We ran shit in Sands Cove. Whether at Windsor or in town, no one challenged us, and Harper knew it. Everyone fucking knew it. I wasn’t being full of myself, either. It was fact. Dad, Uncle Deke, and Uncle Ramsey had left a lasting impression when they had gone to school at Windsor, and even though Uncle Deke lived in Port Lucia, Uncle Ramsey, Aunt Emerson, and my parents still lived in Sands Cove, something that everyone was very aware of.

Not cowering or moving back, Harper said, “We’ve gone three years without speaking Chance. What value do you find in speaking to me now? Especially, when I have no desire to speak to you.”

“Exactly, Harper,” I hissed. “It’s been three fucking years. Don’t you think it’s time to put the grudge to rest?”

The look on her face clearly disagreed with my opinion. “For what?” she asked just before pushing her glasses up again.

There was no way that Harper Crosby would believe the truth for what it was, so there was no point in telling her at this stage of the game. Granted, I wouldn’t blame her. None of this was her fault, but I was done being punished for my stupidity all those years ago. I’ve paid the price for my carelessness ten-fold if you asked me.

“Maybe I think you need a friend,” I replied, leaning back casually and granting her some personal space back.

She arched a dark brow. “I have a friend,” she spat through those clenched teeth again. “One that is so irreplaceable that I don’t need any more friends.”

Harper was talking about Olive Teagan, her only true friend at Windsor. While Maddox was my best friend, my brothers were both enrolled at Windsor, too. Neo was sixteen and his birthday had him as a junior. Gideon was fourteen, and he was a freshman. Our large families had made it to where we hadn’t really needed to make friends to be social, but I had. I had a lot of acquaintances, with Mad, Neo, and Gid being only ones who I really hung out with.
