Faced with Hard Truths is a collection of five short stories that presents realistic events or situations which uncover the truths that may be overlooked or not understood in our everyday lives.

In "Across from Maya", Nick and Maya, ex-lovers turned best friends, are trapped together in an elevator, which opens the door for old feelings which they must settle before they run out of time.

"I'll Play with You Later" tells the story of Claire Collins, a pre-teen and big sister. Claire will be taught a lesson of life when her little brother asks her to play with him.

In "Pop Quiz" , George, a middle-school boy, shows up to school one morning to face a pop quiz. It's new for both he and his classmates, and no one is prepared at all.
