“Oh my stars, Jason. Teach me this, with your tongue.”

  “My pleasure, my love.”

He crawled between her legs and spread her thighs.

He stuck his thumb in his mouth, wetting it. And then he lowered it to Lily’s clit and, staring into her eyes, slowly manipulated her hard nub.

Lily sucked in her breath. She arched her back and thrust the points of her nipples into the air.

He licked her entire pussy, making her wet and juicy. And then he was teasing her clit, nibbling at the swollen flesh until she thought she would spontaneously combust.

“Jason, no more,” she muttered, pushing his head. “I need you. I need you deep inside me.”

Jason smiled and rolled to his back, pulling Lily on top of him. She reached between them and stroked his cock briefly before using her hand to guide Jason’s cock to her clenching sheath.

His cockhead breached her slick entrance, smearing liquid through her swollen slit. Lily felt frantic as she spread her legs wide and pulled her pussy lips open so he could see her ready for him. His jaw was clenched in that Jason way as she guided him in, sinking herself on top of him until he was buried balls deep.

Lily began to move, rocking back and forth as she ground on him. He reached up to grab and lift her heavy breasts. His thumbs flicked against the delicate pink nipples as he swallowed, the movement making his Adam’s apple move along the column of his throat.

Again he rolled them over so that Lily was beneath him. He was better able to set the pace this way. He pulled from her body and thrust back in, making her gasp. Again he pulled out. His thumb found her clit.

Jason thrust again, slowly, inch by inch, as he rubbed her hardened organ. He gave her the rhythm he knew she enjoyed, the slow, deep rhythm that stroked against her G-spot.

She was getting restless, her sheath clenching, trying to swallow and release his cock, trying to force him to thrust faster.

He brought his thumb and forefinger up to his mouth, wetting them again. And then brought them back to her clitoris, elongating it and pinching gently.

  Lily exploded around his cock.

He grabbed her hips and began rocking her furiously toward his body. He slammed into her hot warmth again and again, testicles slapping loudly against her ass, and then shouted as he found his own release.

  “Oh, Goddess, yes.”

He collapsed forward at the waist, onto her body. His face was pressed against her breasts and he kissed them, slowly, gratefully.

“I’m the luckiest man in the world.”

“You’re going to get luckier,” Lily said, tightening her sheath on his softening cock. Without fail, his cock began to harden again.

HE AND LILY HAD MADE love countless times during the night. They’d woken up, and made love. They’d showered, and made love. He’d made breakfast and they’d eaten...and they’d made love. Finally, Lily was getting dressed so they could head into medbay to visit Shawn and check on Tempest.

He had one more chore to clear up, but he’d wait to bring it up to her. Not because he was hiding things but because he didn’t want this bit of ugliness to mar the beginning of their new relationship.

He’d leave her to talk to Shawn while he answered a phone call from Sherry.

  Chapter Thirteen

The world looked brighter the next morning. Jason had gone to work and Lily made her way to the main hub for her check up with Amanda. She no longer looked at going to the main hub with dread. She was okay with running into people. How different her outlook on life was compared to a week ago.

Part of the brightness was the sore spot between her legs. It was a constant reminder and made her giddy, aware of what they’d been doing all night long, and she was more in love with Jason than ever. He’d be coming by later, so until then she would visit with Shawn.

If he wasn’t upset with her.

At the edge of the grove of trees she heard banging. Talking. She approached to find Jett and his brother Brax. They were the only Xeno Sapien twins.

  “Pass me the sanding strips.”

Jett grunted, tossing it to his brother.

“You’ve built a seating arrangement.” Lily’s voice was loud compared to the reserved brothers.

They stood, tossing their tools down. Jett wiped his hands on a rag that hung from his waistband. “Lily. The loveseat is finished. Would you like to be the first to try it out?”

The furniture was made from a tree that had died. They were remarkable pieces of art.

Jet took the rag hanging from his pants and began dusting it off. Lily sat on it. The wood was contoured for a body and felt like it cradled her. “It’s amazing.”

Next to her, the two brothers sat on either side along the bench. Brax pointed to a lump of wood off to the side. “This piece will become a chair. That one will be a small table.”

“How long have you been working on all of this?”

  Brax shrugged. “A month, maybe?”

A bird flew overhead, flying to the table curiously. It didn’t seem to care that they were in such close proximity. When it was done inspecting the new surface, it flew away.

“Lily,” Jett said. “May we ask you something?”

The twins were a strange anomaly. They tended to think as one, even though they had completely different personalities. It was as if they could predict what the other was going to say.

  “Of course.”

Brax took a deep breath. “Do you think a female might come to be interested in us? Jason is interested in you, despite your...differences.”

“What do you mean?” She studied Brax carefully. The brothers were identical with greenish skin, mottled with yellow in the shape of small scales. The scales grew larger on their skulls, growing darker into a beautiful shade of emerald that fit into the shape of hair on top and back of their heads. Their eyes were shaped human, but hardly noticeable because the pupils were so unusual. Set in a shade of warm mustard, the black iris set vertically in the center. They had two sets of eyelids, the first was a filmy translucent one that shut from the outer edge in. The other set was more human-like, closing from top to bottom. Their noses were not as pronounced as humans, being thinner and flatter. Their lips were thin, but shaped human. Spines lined their back, growing up to the base of their neck. She knew that with fear or anger, the spines hardened like weapons.

“He means, you look mostly human. But when you entered your change, a human still loved you. He loved you when you grew claws and teeth, and lost your human shape. We have never had the human looks, and we wonder if a human might overlook that,” Jett said.

“You know, Amanda has said that she’s screening humans to come work on Xenia. She’s being extremely careful about who she lets in, and the process should be about complete,” Brax said.

“The humans who enter Xenia will be special,” Lily said slowly. “More open-minded than most. I think Amanda will do a great job of that.” She paused, studying the brothers.

Jett leaned back in the seat, his stance casual, legs outstretched as if he hadn’t a care in the world. Just his pretense at casualty told her of his anxious wait for her answer.

Brax on the other hand, twitched his leg nervously. He wore his heart on his sleeve.

“Are you looking for one person to love? Or two?”

Brax shrugged. “We have shared everything. We know no other way.”

“If it’s meant to happen, it will. Who would have thought that a green-haired girl would snag the man she loved? But Mother Nature has a way of helping things work out. Now I’m grown up enough for Jason’s interest. I truly believe the same thing will happen for you. One day a special woman will walk through those gates and she’ll be perfect for the both of you.”

Jett didn’t seem convinced. “We have a lot going against one. We want one woman interested in both of us. One woman who can look past our lack of human looks. One woman who may want to stay on Xenia permanently.” He looked hopelessly at Brax. “It is a shot in the dark.”

“I disagree,” Brax said. “Like Lily said, she overcame the odds. The age difference between her and Jason would have seemed like a shot in the dark, too.”

“Jett, you and Brax have a lot to offer a woman. You’re hard workers, you’re strong, you’re so artistic it’s sinful, and you’re both handsome. Who cares if it’s not human-handsome? There’s going to be a woman who looks past that and sees how beautiful you each are. Her only dilemma will be wondering which one she should have to choose. Once you make it clear that she doesn’t have to do that, things will be smooth sailing from there.”

  “Do you honestly believe that?”

“I do.” Briefly, she covered their hands with hers and squeezed.

“Thank you, Lily. We hope to call on you for advice when females begin their employment and we find one.”

“You know I’ll have your back.” She stood and waved goodbye as the twins went back to working on the other pieces in the seating arrangement.

She really hoped there would be a woman who could appreciate their unique beauty. But she knew—she’d remembered the horrified mental link of their entrance into Xenia—where the shocked humans had gasped. Some shrieked. Some had made the comment that they should be put down.

But surely a female who chose to work on Xenia, knowing she would give up her citizen’s rights, wouldn’t feel that way about them? Surely she would be just, and beautiful, and fair.

After arriving at the main hub, she turned into the hallway that led her to the medical offices. Her appointment with Amanda was quick. There were no repercussions of her maturation. Her healing was complete. Next she went down to the medbay wing.

First she checked on Tempest, but there was no response. She still slept, her body healing slowly. So she walked down to the area that held Shawn.

Lily entered Shawn’s room tentatively. “Hi. Am I welcome?”

He smiled weakly. “Of course. Come in.”

She moved in to his bedside, draping his hand with hers.

“I’m sorry about this whole mess.”

  “Almost killing me?”

  She winced.

He chuckled, and then groaned at the pain it caused. “You were a kid at the time. We’re all trying to be aware of the fact that you snap back and forth.” There was a look of pity in his eyes.

“Not anymore. They put me under, and I reached my maturation state by resting in the deep gamma brainwaves.”

  “Jason allowed that?”

Apparently, Shawn knew of the drawback to having the deep sleep thrust upon her.

“No,” she whispered. “But he didn’t really have a choice. Robyn and Amanda locked him in his suite.”

Shawn’s lips curved into a smile. “I’ll bet he was pissed.”

“Amanda said it wasn’t pretty. The good news is he has now moved in with me.” She leaned in. “He admitted that he loved me. But I know chances are pretty good he destroyed his place while waiting for the recovery.”

Shawn laughed. “I’m sure he did. But don’t doubt for a second that he loves you.” His voice was serious. “It was torture watching him with you. Just as soon as he thought it was safe, suddenly you’d become younger Lily, and we’d watch his world plummet. It would have been hell if Lily the teen was wily enough to seduce him.”

  She winced.

“Oh, hell. Tell me you didn’t.”

“I did. But he didn’t know. He thought it was all his doing and didn’t know I’d urged it with the siren abilities.”

“How are those abilities?” He sounded a bit wary.

She smiled to set him at ease. “Much better since they came to a head. It’s why Amanda and Robyn thought it best to bring me to maturation. The powers had grown with my body, and it wasn’t fair to expect a teenager to control them. An adult, however, can.”

“How’s Tempest?” His voice was strangely casual.

“I just came from there. She’s still kept unconscious. Robyn reads her computer chip for pain, and as long as there’s any from the bone regeneration, they’ll keep her under. Amanda says her bones are definitely growing. It’s much slower since they’re not broken fragments merging.”

“I can’t believe the remarkable things Xeno Sapiens are capable of. Her ability to regrow bones has generated my own tissue growth. As my tissues grow to patch the wounds, her bone that plugs the wounds dissolves. Amanda’s never seen anything like it.”

Lily frowned. “She’s healing much slower than you. She’s going to be pretty freaked out when she wakes, probably will still feel guilty. She was horrified that she hurt you.”

“Was she now? Probably feeling bad for all the times she treated me like crap.” Shawn’s voice was mild, and Lily wondered what he was hiding. She sensed she wasn’t far from the truth when she thought there might have been something of interest on his part.

“That’s her test to see how worthy you are,” Lily whispered. “She forced me to break off her bones in you, Shawn. I’d say you’re pretty damn worthy.”

  “She did?”

“She’ll never tell you. She’ll let you assume I did it all.”

There was a speculation in his eye, a gleam that wondered about the inner workings of Tempest. Heck, they all wondered about that.

A soft knock at the door, and Jason poked his head in. “There you are.”

He came into the room and draped his muscled arm around Lily’s shoulders. She loved that he was so open with their relationship. “How are you, buddy? Ready to get back to work?”

Shawn winced. “Depends on who will be training Tempest now.”

“Amanda estimates you’ll be fully healed before Tempest will. She’s healing at a human rate of speed while you seem to be healing at a Xeno Sapien rate. Talk about a bait and switch.”

“This will set back her emotional healing.”

“Not necessarily. Especially if you still bust her ass.”

“Or I can pretend to need her continued protection.” He grinned. “Take her to the outside, let her fight my battles.”

  “That works, too.”

Lily cut in. “I can’t believe the things men talk about in private. I always wondered.”

“Not all men, cupcake. But Shawn and I have a connection from the military days.” Jason kissed her briefly. “I have another problem,” he said, regretfully. “Sherry.”

“Your ex? She’s contacted you again?” Lily was surprised she’d bother since her last episode with Jason.

“She wants to meet on Gamma.”

“In person?” Shawn sounded as concerned as she felt.

Jason’s jaw clenched. “I don’t know what she’s up to this time. I’m sure it’s over Lily again. And this time, I’m not sure how I can keep from strangling her.”

Shawn turned his focus to Lily. “The only time Sherry wants to meet in person is when she has the upper hand.”

“Do you want to take me with you?” she asked Jason.

Jason shook his head emphatically. “Seeing you and her in the same room and knowing that you were helplessly tied to a bed the last time will make me snap her neck.”

  “When are you leaving?”

“In about an hour.” He leaned down to kiss her. “Please stay here with Shawn. I need to know you’re safe. I can’t help but remember the last time there was a distraction and they grabbed you.”

Her giggle was light. “Shawn is going to pretend to defend me while I can flip into a prehistoric sea creature with razor-sharp teeth?”

Shawn raised his hand feebly. “Stay and protect me, doll-face. We can play checkers. I like the potty mouth you let loose when you lose.”

Jason rolled his eyes and bent his head to kiss her senseless.

  Chapter Fourteen

He met with his ex on Eta Seven. It was a far cry from Gamma Three where she’d originally requested, but he wanted to make sure it wasn’t a setup by switching the agreed-to plans on her at the last minute. To her credit, Sherry accepted the change easily.

It wasn’t hard to avoid people as he navigated the trip using the invisible hovercar the Xeno Sapiens had created. The projects that Steele and Pax were coming up with were amazing though the work was slowing down now that Steele was a father. Pax was more or less working alone.

Thinking of Kaden made him wonder if he and Lily would ever be able to have a green-haired little girl who swam like a fish. The idea made him smile, thereby putting him in a more receptive mood to meet Sherry.

He was trying hard to give her the benefit of the doubt, but he would never be able to get over the fact that she had something to do with Lily’s disappearance. For now, he had to play it cool. He couldn’t let her know how much Lily meant to him. Sherry was the type of person who didn’t want him—not as a person—but wanted no one else to have him, either. Her possessiveness had meant nothing to him until Lily came along. He regretted not cutting off Sherry’s social contacts through his status. It was only his status that allowed her to progress so far.

But what was done was done.

He parked the hovercraft on the roof of the building. The location of the restaurant he picked was too populated otherwise.

The posh restaurant was only too eager to seat him. He was led to a table in the corner of the restaurant, overlooking the gardens through a bay window. On the way, patrons whispered, dabbing their elegant lips with their napkins, keeping to their own business. It was considered crass to look around. Only the working class took in their surroundings around them. As a security guard, he knew it was a mistake that could cost them their lives. His ex-wife was already seated at the exclusive table overlooking the gardens. He’d picked it for security. He could see anyone approaching from that side of the restaurant, but they were too far from the doors for him to not hear a commotion from the entrance.

Sherry looked exactly the same as he remembered, but then why shouldn’t she? She had the means to preserve her youth for as long as necessary though he found it disgusting that a woman of eighty plus could easily freeze her looks at thirty. Yes, the trickery of some modern-day women was overlooked for their radiating beauty, but there was a wisdom—a life experience—that shone in their eyes and belied their age. Their wizened eyes looked incongruous in the body of a girl.
