“It must be the signal,” Ally said softly. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “I’m fine.”
It may have been a brief conversation, but seeing my little girl gave me all the drive I needed.
I looked up at the bright orange sun and realized there was nothing around it. There were no more meteorites falling from the sky.
Now there were just the dragons and the pirates to worry about.
But I had Shannon and Ally by my side, and a shit-ton of money and weapons stowed away. I was going to get us all to Hawaii safely if it was the last thing I did.
We’d won the first battle, but the war had just begun.
And it was going to be at least a month until I got home.
