Row land’s attorneys bargained with prosecutors and the governor pledguilty to a single count of “conspiracy to steal honest service.”
*Jared’s younger brother Justin, a Teach for America recruit, has also been posted to New Orleans and will begin teaching in the fall of 2007.
* Careen Jennings, a retired high school English teacher, is a writing workshop cofacilitator.
* The East Side of York CI was, during the early days of the prison, the Connecticut State Farm for Women. The facility employed a farm manager and engaged inmates in animal husbandry and the growing of fruits and vegetables, the philosophy being that fresh air and hard work in a rural setting would encourage their rehabilitation.
* Susan Cole, a retired drug and alcohol counselor, is a cofacilitator of the writing workshop.
