Robyn rocked her hips up to meet me, and her hands gripped the sheet beneath her.

“You ready to come, baby? I wanna feel your pussy squeeze my dick.”

She flexed the walls of her pussy around me, and my breath caught. “Like that?” she smirked.

“Just like that,” I grunted. Fucking hell.

I was ready to nut right there.

I dropped her legs and loomed over her. Bracing my hands on each side of her head, I pounded into her. She tipped her hips up when I thrust and when I pulled back, she tipped her hips back slightly.

I clenched my jaw and closed my eyes. The sight of her breasts bouncing with her eyes connected too mine was too much to handle.

“Oh, Core!” Robyn called. “Go faster!”

A growl rumbled from my chest.

Our moans and heavy breathing mingled together as our bodies took and gave to each other.

“You gotta come for me, baby. Your body feels too fucking good.” I could die right here, and I wouldn’t care. Being inside Robyn was the best I was ever going to have or get.

I moved my hand between us and circled my finger around her clit.

Her hips bucked up suddenly, and the walls of her pussy milked my dick.

My balls tightened, and as I thrusted deep, I spilled my cum inside her. She moaned my name and wrapped her arms around my neck.

I collapsed on top of her and buried my face in her neck.

  “Damn.”

  “Damn?” I laughed.

“Damn that was good?” Robyn chuckled. “My brain isn’t back to working yet.”

I rolled off to the side and gathered her in my arms. “I’ll accept that.”

Robyn laid her head on my shoulder and reached for the blanket. “Are we gonna talk or can we just go to sleep?”

“Uh, I guess that’s up to you.” I was more than okay with just going to sleep and not ruining the moment by talking about what just happened.

“How about we agree we’re both adults, that was great, and we should get some sleep?” she suggested. She hummed softly and laid her hand on my chest. “And we should do that again in the morning?”

“Cause you’re going to forget everything when you wake up?”

“You’re just like Lynn,” she laughed. “She thinks I fall asleep every night like that Adam Sandler movie and have to relearn my whole life.”

“Lordy. I remember things, okay? Just things that maybe aren’t important don’t stick. I can’t explain it. You and I sleeping together isn’t going to be something I forget.” She tipped her head back and looked up at me. “So, can we do that again in the morning? Unless you need to get back home?”

I didn’t have a home anymore. I had a shitty bed and a cracked toilet at Menace’s. “I don’t have anywhere else to be but here right now.”

Menace wouldn’t care if I didn’t come back tonight. I had told him my plans, and it turned out that was exactly what I wound up doing.

Sleeping with Robyn might have just complicated things even more for me, but I wouldn’t change one second of it.

  Chapter Twelve

  Robyn

  “Do you miss it?”

Core filled his coffee cup and leaned against the counter. “Miss what?”

“Being part of the club?” I sat back in my chair at the kitchen table.

“Yeah. Those guys were my family.”

I ran my finger around the lip of my coffee cup. “Do you think after all of this is said and done, they’re going to let you back in?”

Core stared down at the floor. “I hope they do, but I also know what I did is unforgivable to those guys. Even though the reason why I did it was to get Menace, I don’t think that is going to matter.”

“So you gave up your family to save your family.”

He shrugged and sipped his coffee. “I guess so. I was just sick of my brother fucking with everyone and nothing happening to him. He’s moving blow and meth into Whitmore. That was the final straw to me. He’s only doing that to piss off the Kings. Menace deserves to die.” Core laughed drily. “Fucker should have been dead a long time ago.”

“And you’re going to be the one who hand-delivers him to Barracuda.” I chuckled and shook my head. “I think what you’re doing is admirable, but you’re also crazy. You’re giving up everything and you don’t know what is going to happen.”

“Do you ever really know what is going to happen? You could do all the right things, and be a fucking saint, and you could be hit by a milk truck without any warning. If something does happen to me, I’ll die knowing tried to right all the wrongs I could.”

  This wasn’t supposed to happen.

I wasn’t supposed to be sitting in my kitchen wearing my pajamas, feeling delightfully sore from two rounds of sex, and sipping coffee with Core.

Not at all in my plans or Core’s.

At least, I didn’t think this was part of his plan. I’m pretty sure he was just as surprised as I was when things had taken a sexy turn last night.

“So, you just keep following your plan and hope everything turns out?” I asked.

Core shrugged. “I think that’s all anyone can do.”

I motioned between us. “And was this part of your plan?”

He smirked and shook his head. “This was not at all in my plan. I was pretty sure any chance I ever had with you was gone as soon as I screwed over the Kings. I am in no way worthy of you, Robyn. I wasn’t a month ago, and I sure as shit ain’t now.”

“Well, I guess you were wrong since you’re standing in my kitchen barefoot and drinking coffee.”

“I’ll take whatever you want to give me, baby. You could kick me out of here right now, and I would die a happy man.”

I laughed and shook my head. “You’re not allowed to die, Core. Not after last night. Of course, before last night, I didn’t want you to die, either, but I’m sort of invested in you now.”

“Invested in me?” he chuckled. “Do I want to know what that means?”

I sipped my coffee and smiled. “I don’t know if ‘invested’ is the right word, but I guess I’ve taken an interest in you, and you dying wouldn’t be great.”

And I really did believe that Core was trying to right all the wrongs his brother had done. He couldn’t bring people back from the dead, but he was doing everything he could to make sure no one else died by the hands of Menace.

“Are you trying to say you want me for my body, Robyn?” He looked around and laughed. “I don’t know if I should be offended or flattered.”

“Go with flattered. I don’t let just anyone into my bedroom.” If I was honest, I had never let anyone into my bedroom the way I had with Core last night.

No one, and I mean no one knew what Core did. My little porn fantasizes were just that, fantasizes.

  “That’s good to know. I’m hoping last night wasn’t a one-time admission.”

A laugh erupted from my lips. “I’m a little worried we’re talking about sex like it’s an amusement park, but I think you have an unlimited pass.”

  “Right on,” Core smirked.

I rolled my eyes and finished my coffee. “So, what are you up to today?”.

Core shrugged. “I’m hoping to ride a few more rides at the amusement park this morning, and then, I need to get back the devil’s lair.”

I shook my head. “So many things about that sentence are wrong.”

“Does that mean the amusement park is closed?”

I grabbed my cup and moved over to Core. Leaning around him, I dropped my cup into the sink. He caught me around the waist and pulled me to his chest. “I mean, you do have an unlimited pass, right? It wouldn’t be right for me to close the park.”

He pressed a kiss to my lips. “Close the park whenever you want, baby. I’ll just wait in line until you’re ready.”

“This is so weird, but it is also really sweet,” I whispered.

I had never thought of referring to sex as an amusement park, but the analogy worked. Especially when it came to Core. I had a feeling sex with him would end up being anything but boring. Just like an amusement park.

I grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled it over my head.

Core’s eyes melted with desire, and he set down his mug.

“The park is open,” I whispered. “Tickets, please.”

  Chapter Thirteen

  Core

  “You’re coming with me.”

“Where are you going?” I asked.

“We are taking a field trip.” Menace grabbed his worn leather jacket and shrugged it on.

“Why can’t you take Miller or Blink with you? I told you I don’t want anything to do with the drugs you’re running.” I had come back to Menace, but I had told him I was not looking to become a drug dealer.

“It doesn’t have anything to do with that.”

I watched Menace grab an envelope from a stack of papers and tuck it in his jacket. “Don’t fucking worry about it. I just need someone riding with me.”

“Seems like something for Miller or Blink.” I wasn’t interested in being Menace’s lackey. After talking with Robyn, and doing a lot of not talking, I was a little pissed about the choices I had made. I had confidence my plan was going to work, but I just wished it didn’t also mean that the family and life I would have had with the Kings of Vengeance was gone.

I knew when I started this that would happen, but it had hit home when I realized Robyn and I couldn’t really be anything more than a few nights in her bed. I wasn’t going to ask her to give up her friends to be with me. Quinn and the rest of the Kings were not going to let their ol’ ladies near Robyn if they knew she was with me.

“They’re busy doing the shit you don’t want to do. Get your shit and let’s go,” he ordered.

A grunt left my lips, but I didn’t argue back.

I hated this man, but I needed to stay on his good side. When I had started thinking up this plan, I had wondered if I wouldn’t be able to go through with it because he was my brother. The only blood relative I had, and I was going to lead him to his death.

I was okay with it. I wanted it to happen now.

“Let me get my jacket.” I walked to my room and grabbed a leather jacket I had found in a secondhand store.

It didn’t feel right putting it on. I should be wearing a Kings of Vengeance cut, but that wasn’t in the cards for me anymore.

I loved the club and the guys so much that I was willing to give up my life to make sure they kept theirs.

I grabbed my gun from the nightstand and slid it into the holster on my side. Every time I grabbed the weapon, all I wanted to do was aim it at Menace and pull the trigger.

That was going to be Barracuda’s job.

I was just going to be the delivery man.

  “Let’s fucking go!” Menace shouted.

I shook my head and blew out a breath.

Hopefully, that delivery happened sooner rather than later.

  Robyn

  “I’m sorry, what?” I gasped.

Lynn leaned against the bar and swirled her straw in her water. “A baby.”

  “But how?” I asked.

Lynn shook her head. “Zephyr didn’t know all of the details. I berated him with questions and ninety percent of his answers were ‘he didn’t know.’ All he said was Tank had a baby no one knew about, and the baby is staying at the clubhouse.”

“What about the mom?” I asked.

Lynn laughed and shook her head. “Don’t know.”

“Did Tank know he had a baby?”

Lynn laid her hand on the bar. “Don’t know.”

  “But how—”

Lynn raised her hand and silenced me. “Honey, I don’t know.” She shook her head and laughed. “I now know how Zephyr felt when he told me, and I asked him all of those questions.”

I grabbed her glass and filled it to the top with water. “Sorry. You just blew my mind.” That was huge.

“Totally understand. Like I said, I asked Zephyr about ten more questions than you did before he told me to shut it.”

I laughed and heard the pizza oven ding. “Let me get your lunch.”

Lynn had come in for lunch—and also for a little girl time—at the bar since it was down the street from the rehab center. It had been almost a week since I had been to the clubhouse, but I had been keeping in touch with Lynn more than I normally would.

I also hadn’t seen Core since the night we had fallen into bed together. And then again the next morning. Three times…

“Can you cut it in squares?” Lynn called.

I raised my hand over my head and stepped into the small area behind the bar. “You got it.”

“And I’m paying for it! Just because you are going to eat some doesn’t mean you are paying for the whole thing.”

I grabbed the pizza pan and opened the oven. “And that also means you’re not going to pay for the whole thing, either,” I countered. I slid the pizza onto the pan and shut the oven.

She wasn’t going to pay for this.

I quickly sliced the pizza into squares and walked back out front.

  “You seem different.”

I tipped my head to the side and set the pizza in front of her. “Uh, okay?” I laughed.

She grabbed a square and set it on the napkin in front of her. “You seem happier. I can’t really say what it is, but it just seems like something good happened to you.”

I got laid. Really good. “Not much has really changed. Still working my butt off and eating way too much.”

Lynn rolled her eyes. “I’m not talking about you looks. You’re hot, as usual.”

“As are you,” I laughed. I grabbed a slice of pizza and blew on it. “But nothing has changed, Lynn. I’m still plain ol’ Robyn.”

“You are not plain or old.”

I rolled my eyes and took a bite.

“Did you get laid?” Lynn blurted.

My eyes bugged out, and I choked on the bite I had just taken. I hacked up what I had tried to swallow and reached for an empty glass.

Lynn eyed me closely. “That’s it. You got laid.”

How in the hell could she know that?

I filled my glass with water and took a drink. Lynn kept her eyes on me and watched closely.

“Stop!” I scolded. “I got laid, okay? Jesus. I don’t even know how you could tell.” It wasn’t like I was wearing a sign announcing it to the world. Now, if she could tell I had slept with Core, I was going to tell Lynn she was in the wrong line of work.

“Girl, you are glowing.” She wagged her finger at me. “All the other girls have that look constantly. I’m surprised I didn’t see it right away when I walked in.”

“I am not glowing, Lynn. Besides, it’s been three days. I’m pretty sure any sign of euphoria I had is long gone.”

She shook her head. “Well, it may have been three days ago, but you are still glowing from it. Who was it?”

“I am not going to tell you anything more, Lynn. I had sex. It was great. I’m good for another six months.”

“No, no, no. Whoever this guy is you need to keep him in your life, girl. I already like him, and I know not one thing about him.”

I cleared my throat and took another sip of water. If she knew who it was, she would flip her lid and run straight to Zephyr. “Just someone I met at the bar. Not something I planned to happen, but it did.”

There, that wasn’t a lie at all. I had first met Core at the bar, and I was not planning at all to fall into bed with him, but it had happened.

  And will again, hopefully.

“Well, you can keep your secret for now, but I will find out who it is. If a man sexing you up three days ago can keep that glow about you, you shouldn’t let him go.”

I waved my hand at her. “It’s casual. That’s all I want.” At least, that was what I kept telling myself. “And I don’t even know if I am going to see the guy ever again.”

“Well, I know I said I already liked the guy, but if he doesn’t come back for more, he’s a fool.”

I laughed and nodded. “That, I can agree with. I wouldn’t mind a repeat performance or two.”

“Now there is that confident Robyn I love.” She pumped her fist in the air. “Keep that man in your bed.”

“Good lord, Lynn,” I laughed. “Maybe you need to get laid since you’re so interested in my sex life.”

“Girl, Zephyr is keeping me a happy woman. I don’t think there has been one day since we got together that we haven’t done some sexual act.” She leaned forward and lowered her voice. “The other morning, he pushed me against front door when I was trying to leave.” She fanned her face with her hand. “Let’s just say I didn’t get to work until almost eleven.”

“Get it,” I laughed. “Ain’t no shame in that man treating you like the queen you are.”

Lynn winked and sat back on her stool. “And he does that well.”

I managed to get a few bites of pizza in and then moved down the bar to help the few customers.

“So, what else has been going on?” I asked Lynn when I had finished refilling drinks and cashing out two people.

Lynn shrugged. “Not too much. The guys are still on high alert with Menace still out there. There are so many people looking for him, but it’s like he disappeared.” She took a sip of water and grabbed another piece of pizza. “Same goes for Core. I don’t think the guys are looking for him as hard, but they can’t find one trace of him. It’s seriously like they both disappeared into thin air.”

“I’m sure they’ll both turn up eventually.”

Lynn shook her head. “For Core’s sake, I think it would just be better for him to never come back. The guys were pretty hurt by what he did. When the club formed, not many of them wanted to give him a chance and let him be a part of the club.”

“Really? I thought they all liked each other?”

Lynn shook her head. “I don’t know all the details, but Core was a little shady. It was like he had one foot in with the Kings but one foot out just in case things went sideways.”
