My Biker, page 9
“Tell her,” Dove replied. “You ran your wagon of books into the elevator, and he was there to catch you. The rest is history.” She wiggled her eyebrows. “Or, you could sell your story to her! You could be immortalized in one of her books.”
I rolled my eyes and scoffed. “Pretty sure Winter has better things to write about other than me and Aero.”
“Sure, sure,” Dove muttered.
“I’m not going to worry about it right now,” I sighed. I changed out of my boots and tossed them in my locker.
“You ready?” I asked.
“Quit rushing me, woman,” Dove groaned. “It was a long week, and I’m not moving the fastest.”
I rolled my eyes. “Does that mean you’re not going out to the bars tonight?”
She leveled her gaze on me. “Let’s not get crazy here, Sloane. You know I’ve tried to make drinks at home, and they just don’t taste the same.” She dropped her boots in her locker and slipped on her Crocs. “And now I need to go out and find a new best friend because Aero stole you from me.”
“He did not steal me from you,” I laughed.
“Not yet,” Dove sighed. “I’m waiting for the day he convinces you to move to Mt. Pleasant. Then you’ll have been officially stolen.”
“Stop,” I cried. “I don’t want you to think I’m ignoring you. Come over for dinner tonight, and then we can all go to the bar.”
“Oh,” Dove gasped, “we can go to the bar, and I can really feel like the third wheel.” Dove shook her head and walked out of the locker room. “I think I’ll pass. Thank you very much.” She grabbed her lunch bag off the table by the employee entrance and swung open the door. “After you, my lady.”
I walked out and glared at her. “You’re being very dramatic.”
“Do you expect anything else from me?” she laughed. “And you have to know I’m joking.”
We walked down the cement steps and headed to the employee parking lot. “I’m serious about coming over tonight. You know that Aero likes you.”
She glanced over at me. “Sloane, I am not coming over tonight. You have not seen Aero for four days. The only thing you two are having for dinner is each other.”
“Dove,” I gasped. “That is not true.”
An engine roared, and a motorcycle pulled into the parking lot.
“The man can’t even wait until you get home,” she smirked. “Tell me again why you don’t want to tell your romance author about Aero. The man is smitten.” Dove shook her head and held her hand out to me.
Aero spotted us and coasted over.
“Give me the keys,” Sloane called over the roar of his bike.
“What?” I demanded.
She shook her head and reached into my pocket.
“Dove,” I shouted.
“Got ‘em,” she laughed. “I’m driving myself home. I’ll pick you up Monday for work.”
“You’re not taking my car,” I insisted.
She glanced at Aero and waved. “She’s all yours. Try not to break her.”
Dove headed to my car, and I didn’t know what to do.
“Babe,” Aero called.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. I stepped up to his bike and propped my hands on my hips. “I thought we were meeting at my house.”
“Hold your hands out,” he ordered.
I held out my hands and wondered what was about to happen.
Aero twisted and reached into his saddlebag. He pulled out my helmet and tossed it my way. “I was driving there and thought I would see if you wanted to go for a ride.”
“I have my car here, Aero,” I laughed.
A car horn honked.
Dove was driving my car and waved as she drove to the exit.
“You mean that car?” Aero asked.
I rolled my eyes and plopped the helmet on. “Dove is going to start hating me,” I grumbled. “I wanted her to come over tonight, and she said no because we’re apparently only having sex and not eating.”
Aero shrugged, “I mean, she’s not wrong, though I’m sure we’ll have to refuel at some point.”
“You’re a bad boy, Aero,” I laughed. “You were supposed to tell me she’s more than welcome to come over tonight.”
“You see her every damn day, Sloane. I think she can handle not seeing you for the weekend,” he reasoned.
I did, but that didn’t mean I only had to see her while we worked. “I thought you said you had something to tell me,” I changed the subject.
Aero shook his head and motioned behind him. “Get on. I’ll tell you later.”
I rolled my eyes but hopped on behind him. “A short ride, and then we’re going back to my place.”
“Sure, sure.” He turned in the seat and wrapped his arm around my waist. He pressed a kiss to my lips, and I melted into him.
It had been a long four days without him.
It was crazy how you could go years without something, not knowing what you are missing, and when you have it just one time, you miss it like your next breath.
“I missed you,” I whispered against his lips.
His eyes drifted open, and he pressed a soft kiss to my lips. “Me, too, babe. Ready?”
I nodded and sat back. “Where are we going?” I asked.
He shrugged, “Wherever the road takes us, babe.”
Chapter Fourteen
Aero
“Aero.”
“Sloane.”
She rolled over onto her stomach and kicked her feet in the air. “You didn’t think this was something you should have told me sooner?” She picked a pepperoni off her pizza and popped it into her mouth.
I shrugged and grabbed my beer off the nightstand. “It’s not that important, Sloane, and I just found out about it when I texted you,” I chuckled.
We had cruised the backroads around Texarkana for about an hour and then made our way back to Sloane’s. Ten seconds after stepping foot in the door, we were both naked and getting reacquainted after four long days.
We finally made it to the bedroom where we took it slower and finally fell onto the bed, exhausted and starving.
Once we decided on what to have for dinner, we ordered a pizza and were finally able to keep our hands off of each other long enough to eat.
My back was to the headboard, and Sloane’s facing the foot of the bed. My plate was balancing on my lap, and I laid my hand on her bare ass.
She glanced over her shoulder at me and frowned. “Are you sure this isn’t club business, and you shouldn’t tell me?”
“Babe, it’s going to be on national TV. There is no keeping this as club business.”
She quirked her lips and nodded. “You might be right.”
“Nut,” I muttered.
“But what are you guys going to do when you do have club business? You can’t really be having Church while there are cameras in your face.”
I finished my beer and set the empty down. “Not do it on camera, babe. We’re not going to be recorded every second for the rest of our lives. The way I look at it, this will last a couple of years, and the club will be on more solid ground.”
“We should watch some reality TV and see how it’s going to be for you guys. Hand me the remote next to you.”
I grabbed the remote and tossed it down to her. “I don’t think there is going to be any reality TV like what we’re going to be doing,” I chuckled. On the ride over, I wondered what the hell we were going to do when the cameras were rolling. A lot of the days at the shop, we didn’t do much other than work.
Sure, we were all smartasses, but we only had so many zingers before we just started to sound like assholes to each other.
“Well, not exactly like you guys, because if there was, you guys wouldn’t have this opportunity,” she mumbled. She surfed through the channels and finally landed on Survivor.
“Babe,” I laughed. “I can say with all honesty that Tread is not going to be at all like Survivor.”
“You’re not going to vote one of you out of the club every episode?” she laughed. She tossed the remote back to me and flipped around until she was snuggled under my arm. “I have some news.”
“You land a reality show, too?”
She giggled and shook her head. “No. It’s news but not near as exciting as yours. Maybe I should have told you mine first,” she mused.
“Spit it out, babe,” I coaxed.
“One of the authors I like sent me an email,” she blurted. “She writes about motorcycle clubs, well, and other genres, but MC is what she’s mainly writing right now.”
“Cool.”
She looked up at me and frowned. “That doesn’t happen often, Aero.”
“Very cool?” I chuckled. I got that Sloane was big into her books and authors, and I loved that she had something she was so passionate about, but I didn’t really get it. I pressed a soft kiss to her lips, and she sighed.
“You don’t get it,” she muttered. She slapped my chest and turned back to the TV.
“I don’t, Sloane, but I want you to tell me about it. And what does this author want?” I asked.
“She wanted to know how you and I got together.”
“She gonna write a book about us?” I laughed.
“Maybe,” she shrugged.
“I guess you weren’t kidding when you said our meeting was like a romance novel.”
“It was.” She tipped her head back to me. “It is. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it hasn’t happened yet.”
“You mean like you find out I snore or you fart in your sleep?” I joked.
“I do not,” she insisted.
“Or that I’m just part of a harem of men you have?”
She glared at me. “Have you been looking at my books?”
“Well, I will say you have a book with three dudes and a chick on it, and I’m hoping you only read that shit, babe, and do not want to have that in your life, too.”
She grabbed my plate and tossed it on the floor. She twisted to straddle my waist and rested her hands on my shoulders. “That is called a reverse harem, and I do like them.”
I raised my eyebrow. Was this the shoe she was waiting to drop? Because if Sloane was about to tell me she wanted to add three dudes to this equation, we might run into a problem.
“But only on paper.”
I let out a breath and sagged. “Fucking hell, woman. I thought you were about to tell me you wanted a wiener sandwich or some shit.”
Sloane busted out laughing and shook her head. “Not at all, Aero. I’m good with a single hot dog.”
I wrapped my arms around her and buried my face in her neck. “You’re a fucking nut, babe.”
“Yeah, but I’m your nut.” She ran her fingers through my hair and pressed a kiss to the side of my head. “And you’re my biker.”
“The biker and the nut. You think that will be the name of your author's next book?”
“God,” Sloane laughed, “I hope not, because she won’t sell a single book. Or she’s going to get readers thinking she’s writing a whole new genre.”
“I don’t even want to know, Sloane,” I chuckled.
She closed the distance between us and pressed a kiss to my lips. “I’ll just keep reading my books and try not to scare you with them.”
“Babe, you can read all you want about blue aliens, cowboys, sword-crossing brothers, or that chick with a harem of men on your shelf, and when you get yourself all hot and bothered, I’ll be right here waiting for you.”
“No more B.O.B.?” she asked.
I closed my eyes. “Who?”
“Battery-operated boyfriend.”
“Fucking hell,” I growled. I rolled her onto her back and covered her with my body.
“I thought we were watching reality TV for research?” she squealed.
I blindly reached for the remote and pointed it at the TV. “The only research we are doing tonight is to see how long it takes to make you scream with B.O.B.”
“Aero,” she panted. “Are you sure you haven’t read a romance novel or two in your life?”
I shook my head and cupped her cheek. “Not once, babe. I just know how to treat you right. That’s all those romance novels sound like to me.”
“So we’re living our own romance novel?”
I nodded. “Every fucking day, babe.”
Chapter Fifteen
Sloane
I opened my laptop and pulled up the message from Winter. I hadn’t opened it since I saw it at work, but it was in the back of my mind.
What do I say to one of my favorite authors who wanted to know what was up with me and the hot biker from the book signing?
Aero slept beside me, his arm draped around my waist, and his soft snores floated around me.
How did I put the past whirlwind weeks into words? I could hardly believe any of it happened, but it did because this sexy man was next to me. He had chosen me, and I was accepting it with everything I had.
Aero was my favorite book boyfriend come to life, and I wasn’t planning on ever letting him go. I was ready for whatever life had to throw my way and knew that he was there with me, whatever came next.
I poised my hands over the keys and let it all out.
Dear Winter, I know you messaged me earlier, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to say. Now I know.
I’m ready to tell you how I got My Biker...
Chapter Sixteen
Olive
“It’s fine, Faye,” I called. I pulled into the gym's parking lot and parked by the back door. It was half-past nine, and I needed to get in there to wipe down all of the machines for the day. “I just pulled in.”
My mom could only watch Rocky until ten-thirty, so I needed to get my butt moving.
It had been Faye’s scheduled night to clean, but half an hour ago, she had broken down outside of Longview and wouldn’t be able to get to the gym.
“Thank you so much, Olive. I’ve tried everything to get this hunk of junk moving, but it’s dead dead.”
I shifted into park and grabbed my bag from the backseat. “This actually works out better for me, anyway. Rocky has a birthday party he wants to go to tomorrow, and now I can take him.”
“Olive,” Faye tsked. “All you had to do was ask me to switch with you, and I would have.”
“I know, I know,” I muttered.
“But you hate having to ask for help. I know,” Faye sighed. “I’m the same way, girl. Why do you think I’ve got grease under my fingernails and my engine in pieces on the side of the road?”
“Did you call anyone to come help?” I asked.
“Fucking Anthony,” she grumbled.
“Oh,” I winced. “There wasn’t anyone else to call?” Anthony was Faye’s ex, and he was not a good ex. He had treated her like crap, and after being a dick to her for three years, he cheated on her and told her that if she would have put out more, he wouldn’t have had to look elsewhere.
I hated Anthony.
“Why don’t you hang tight, and I can come get you when I’m done,” I suggested. “I just need to grab Rocky when I’m done cleaning, and we’ll be on the way.”
Faye sighed. “Well, I might have to take you up on that offer if he doesn’t come. He said he would try to make it out.”
Still a dickhead.
“Call him and tell him to not come because your new boyfriend is coming to help you,” I laughed.
She chuckled and sighed heavily. “I’m not calling him again, Olive. Just call me when you are done at the gym, and I’ll let you know what is going on. Maybe some dashing prince will stop and help me.”
“Well,” I laughed, “we can all dream, girlfriend. Let me get in this gym, and I’ll call you back.”
“Later,” she called.
I ended the call and opened my door.
Faye was always saying she was waiting for her prince charming to come and rescue her, but it hadn’t happened yet.
Hell, did that even happen anymore? It seemed like these days you needed to save yourself; otherwise, you’ll be waiting forever.
I grabbed my keys to the gym and jogged to the back door.
“Why the hell does Faye wait till late to clean the gym,” I mumbled. When it was my day to clean it, I did it while Rocky was in school; that way, I wasn’t traipsing through the dark to scrub toilets and wipe down dumbbells.
I stabbed the key into the lock and twisted the handle.
A loud click sounded above me, and I cocked my head to the side.
The door exploded, and everything went black.
My Savior, the next book in the Iron Fiends MC series, is coming July 29th!
Dear Reader,
Thank you so much for picking up My Biker.
I started writing this story thinking it was headed one place, and instead, the Iron Fiends wound up signing on to film a reality TV show, and the gym blew up. (I did not see either of those things coming, let me tell you. LMAO)
And did you catch the Fallen Lords signing on to film the reality show? Can you say 2nd generation? Alice and the Girl Gang on a reality show?!?!
If you’re wanting more of Aero and Sloane, don’t worry! Aero and Sloane are the anchors of this series, and they aren’t going anywhere.
And maybe Winter might pop up again, too. *wink wink*
Thank you again for reading, and I hope you’re ready to see where this series goes!
