Helena examined a nearby house, where the walls bled and deformed figures moved among the rubble.

—Every building, every object... everything is imbued with fragments of the shadow.

Even the blood of corrupted bodies flows into it, feeding it.

Adrian took a deep breath, feeling the tension in the air.

"This isn't just a direct attack against us. It's strategic. The shadow is taking control of the entire town, and every second counts."

Suddenly, a bloodcurdling scream erupted from a side street. Rushing to the scene, they found a young man, completely covered in dripping wounds.Blood flowed as if his cuts were endless. His body writhed as black tentacles emerged from his back, reaching out towards them.

"We can't let them touch us!" Alex shouted, raising the relic.

Sara took a knife and cut the tentacles that were approaching her, while HelenaHe illuminated the area with his flashlight, revealing the deformed contours of the corrupted man. Every movement the fragments made was brutal: sharp tentacles, open wounds, spurting blood, and an intense smell of burnt flesh.

"Quickly!" Adrian shouted. "The relic can disintegrate them, but if we're delayed..."Every second will be fatal.

Alex plunged the relic into the man's torso, and a red glow consumed the tentacles and the deformed flesh, leaving a pool of boiling blood that slowly evaporated. But the victory was short-lived: more people began to appear, all controlled by fragments of the shadow, with black eyes andviolent movements, attacking the protagonists from different points.

"Let's form a circle!" Alex shouted. "Only unity can keep them at bay."

The four of them took their positions, the relic in the center of the group. The red light surged again, slicing through tentacles, deformed arms, and faces that screamed without making a sound. Each flash left open wounds on the corrupted bodies, but some fragments survived and regrouped, waiting for their moment to attack again.

"This never ends," Sara murmured, tears and blood mingling with her voice. "Every

The person we see... could be a monster.

Helena nodded, cutting off a deformed arm that was trying to grab her.

—We can't trust anyone. Even innocent people can become weapons of the shadows.

Adrian hit a man who moved like an animal, his hands turned into deformed claws that bled constantly.

—Each attack is more violent than the last. This isn't just physical, it's psychological. It forces us to see our friends and neighbors as monsters.

Alex took a deep breath, watching the relic pulse with a faint glow.

—Each fragment we disintegrate weakens its influence, but we mustLet's stay united. One mistake and we'll fall.

The streets were filled with silent screams, blood oozing from every open wound,Tentacles sprouted from the ground, walls, and bodies. Every step was a constant battle: slashing, dodging, flashing lights, and maintaining unity. The shadow had transformed the village into a battlefield, and their only defense was their unity and the relic.

"Alex!" Sara shouted. "There's a group trying to surround us."

  Alex lifted the relic andshout:

—For our unity! We shall not fall!

The red glow emerged, disintegrating tentacles, roots, corrupted bodies, and deformed figures that sprang up from all sides. Each flash was an explosion ofBlood, flesh and horror, but some fragments managed to escape, moving towards new victims.

Helena breathed with difficulty, wiping the blood from her face.

"This is worse than the Library. There it was just us against the shadow. Here..."

  Everything is against us.

Adrian nodded, as he attacked another corrupted body that was advancing towards them.

—Then we must adapt. Every attack teaches us, every fragment we destroy makes us stronger.

Sara looked at the square filled with chaos, with deformed bodies and blood everywhere.

—Even if he pursues us, even if he corrupts us all... we will survive.

Alex looked at the unlit relic, still with a faint pulse.

—This isn't just about surviving. It's about learning to fight what we carry inside and outside. The fragments of the shadow will never completely disappear, but as long as we are together, we can keep them at bay.

The four regrouped, exhausted, covered in blood and open wounds, knowing that every day in the village would be a battle against fragments of the shadow and its horrors. Daily life had become a battlefield, and survival depended on their unity, their strength, and the relic.

"Every day will be a test," Alex said. "Every shadow, every bloody memory..."

It will be our challenge. But we will not fall.

Sara, Helena, and Adrián nodded, as the square fell into an unsettling silence.with fragments of the shadow watching them from all corners, waiting for their next move.

CHAPTER 40 — Traps of Horror

The once peaceful town had transformed into a labyrinth of death and terror. Every street, every building, every corner was permeated with fragments of the shadow. Alex, Sara, Helena, and Adrián had survived direct attacks, but now the shadow seemed more cunning, manipulating both the environment and their minds.of the protagonists to divide them and make them face their worst fears individually.

"This... this is different," Sara murmured as they walked toward a narrow street. "It's not just a physical attack. It's psychological."

Alex nodded, holding the deactivated relic in his hand.

—The shadow is learning. Every time we confront it, it adjusts itstactics. This time he wants to break us from within.

Helena watched the shadows lengthen and distort around her.

"Look at the buildings," he said. "The walls are twisting, the doors are disappearing, and

They reappear, and the pools of blood shift to isolate us. He's building traps.

Adrian frowned, breathing heavily as he dodged tentacles thatThey emerged from the ground.

—Every step we take could separate us. If we divide, we will not survive.

A deafening shriek surrounded them, and suddenly the street split into multiple paths that seemed to shift and change constantly. Deformed human figures emerged from every direction, their black eyes gleaming with pure malice. Fragments of shadow manipulated each person's perception: what Sara saw was a corridor, what Helena perceived was an endless staircase, and for Adrián, the houses seemed to be collapsing around him.

"Don't separate!" Alex shouted, trying to bring the four of them together as the relic emitteda faint red pulse—. Only together can we withstand this.

But the shadow knew how to attack their minds. Sara saw her dead brother reaching out to her, his body mutilated and bleeding. Helena heard screams that mimicked her parents, pleading for help as they were slowly torn apart by invisible tentacles. Adrián was stalked by figures that took the form of his friends, deformed and covered in blood, beckoning him closer before attacking.

"It's not real!" Alex shouted, trying to keep them focused. "Keep your..."eyes on us, not on illusions.

The first physical attack emerged from a pool of blood that rose up, forming tentacles.Sharp. Sara reacted quickly, cutting one with her knife, while another tentacle reached towards Helena, who pierced it with a flash of the relic.

Each movement was accompanied by a burst of blood, torn flesh, andsilent screams that made his mind tremble.

"Every illusion is an attack," said Adrian, cutting another tentacle that was emerging from theground—. If we let ourselves be deceived, it will trap and maim us.

Alex lifted the relic, which vibrated violently and emitted a red glow, disintegratingTentacles, deformed figures, and roots sprouted from the walls and floor. However, not everything disappeared: fragments of the shadow escaped, multiplying and surrounding them, forcing them back into a narrower alley.

"We must stay together!" Alex shouted. "Every second apart is an opportunity for them to destroy us."

Sara felt a sharp pain in her arm. Looking down, she saw tentacles of her own blood trying to twist toward her, as if the fragment of the shadow she carriedHe would try to trap her from within.

"Argh!" he screamed, slashing at the tentacles with his knife as blood gushed out.

Helena saw how the fragments had taken the form of her family, now deformed, their bodies open and dripping blood, staring at her with empty eyes and screaming silently.

"No! They can't hurt me like this!" she murmured, as she pierced through the illusion with thelight of the relic.

Adrian was dragged into a pool of blood that suddenly solidified, like bright red cement. Tentacles emerged from the ground and grabbed him.

"Help!" he cried, as Alex and Helena rushed to free him. "This isn't just..."physical, it's psychological.

Alex took a deep breath, his face covered in blood and sweat.

—We must focus. Every fragment we disintegrate makes us stronger. Every illusion we resist brings us closer to survival.

The relic's red glow emerged again, disintegrating the fragments thatThey were attacked from outside and from within their minds. Blood, tentacles, deformed faces, and mutilated bodies exploded in every flash, but the psychological horrors persisted: voices mimicking screams of pain, illusions of mutilated loved ones, and impossible scenarios of absolute gore.

"This is just the beginning," Sara said, wiping blood from her face. "Every day will be a test, and each fragment will be more cunning than the last."

Helena gripped the knife, breathing heavily as she watched theFragments of the shadow tried to divide them again.

—We cannot fall into the trap. The shadow wants to separate us, break us, and destroy us mentally.

Adrian nodded, cutting another tentacle that was emerging from the ground.

—Each attack is more violent, bloodier, more strategic... but if we are

  Together, we can survive.

Alex looked at the relic, still off but vibrating faintly.

—Every day will be a challenge. Every shadow, every bloody illusion... will be ours

It's a test. But as long as we stay united, we won't fall.

The four of them regrouped in the alley, covered in blood, with deep cuts and bruises all over their bodies, breathing heavily. Fragments of the shadow surrounded them, waiting for their next move, while the illusions of their worst fears lingered.

"Every day will be a battle," Alex said. "But as long as we're together, we'll survive."

Sara, Helena, and Adrián nodded, aware that the shadow was attacking not only their bodies but also their minds, using everyday life and their worst memories as weapons.

"Even if he chases us, even if he hurts us... we will survive," Sara murmured. Helena looked at the alley filled with blood and tentacles.

—And if it ever comes back stronger, we'll be ready. Together.

Adrian took a deep breath, blood still oozing from open cuts.

—Every shadow, every bloody memory... will be our challenge. But we will not fall.

  CHAPTER 41 — Living Nightmares

Night had fallen on the village, and with it, an unsettling silence that seemedto absorb every last breath of air. Alex, Sara, Helena, and Adrián knew that the shadow wouldn't stop, and this time, it didn't need deformed bodies or tentacles to attack them: it would attack their minds, their most painful memories, their deepest fears.

Sara woke with a start, her heart pounding. The room was empty... or so it seemed. Pools of blood appeared on the floor, and when she looked into them, she saw the reflection of her dead brother, his hands outstretched toward her, mutilated and screaming silently. The vision was so vivid that Sara felt as if the blood in his reflection were mingling with her own.

"No!" she cried, trying to get away, but her feet felt stuck to the ground. Alex ran in, relic in hand, sensing the illusion.

—Sara, remember: it's not real. Stay strong. Focus on us!

Meanwhile, Helena was trapped in a vision where her parents were being torn apart by shadowy tentacles, their bodies ripped open, dripping blood that

She formed impossible patterns in the air. Every attempt to help them made her feel likeIf his hands were stuck in the flesh and blood, a pain that seemed real.

"No...!" she murmured, her voice trembling. "This is... too real..."

Adrian was next. When he opened his eyes, he saw his friends from the village attacking him, their bodies transformed into deformed, bloody monsters. Each one had distorted features, and when he tried to approach, he felt the cuts on his own body multiply, as if the shadow were manipulating reality and his blood simultaneously.

Alex lifted the relic, which began to vibrate strongly and emit an intense red glow.

"Focus on me!" he shouted. "They're not real, they're fragments of the shadow trying to break us from within."

The glare temporarily shattered their illusions, but the psychological horrors lingered: blood oozed from the walls, objects in their surroundings warped, and the voices of their mutilated loved ones haunted them with silent screams. The sensation of pain was so real that every cut, every tentacle, seemed to pierce the protagonists' skin and flesh.

"This isn't just a physical attack," Sara said, wiping imaginary blood from her hands. "It's attacking our minds, our memories, everything we are."

Helena nodded, gripping the knife as she cut through an illusion that showedhis mutilated family.

—Each fragment we face is more cunning. Now it's not just trying to kill us,It tries to destroy us mentally.

Adrian cut a tentacle that emerged from the ground, which seemed to be rising from his blood.self-reflection.

—Every bloody illusion we survive makes us stronger, but if we let ourselves be deceived, every mistake hurts us more than any real knife or tentacle.

Alex looked at the relic, which pulsed with a faint but constant glow.

—Every day will be a challenge, every night a test of our endurance. The shadow knows how to manipulate our fears, but together we can face it.

The four regrouped in the room, forming a circle. The red light of theThe relic resurfaced, slicing through fragments of shadow that tried to materialize from their own memories and minds. Blood gushed from each

illusion, forming puddles that looked real, with distorted faces andlimbs that were twisting violently.

"This is worse than any physical attack," Sara said, breathing heavily. "The shadow is inside us, and every thought can become an attack."

Helena nodded, watching as the blood of illusions transformed into tentacles.who were trying to catch them.

—We cannot be deceived. Every fragment we destroy brings us closer to survival.

Adrian saw a vision in which his body was covered in cuts that didn't exist.truly, and felt every wound as if it were real.

"We must stay together," he said. "Every second we divide ourselves, every thought we allow to manipulate us, brings us closer to defeat."

  Alex lifted the relic andshout:

—For our unity! We shall not fall!

The red glow disintegrated the fragments of shadow within his illusions, while the tentacles and imaginary blood exploded in flashes of light. Every second was a battle between mind and reality, between perception and the terror the shadow projected.

"Every day will be a battle," Alex said, with real blood and sweat covering his face.Every shadow, every bloody illusion, every fragment will be our challenge. But as long as we stand together, we will survive.

Sara, Helena, and Adrián nodded, covered in sweat and blood, with cuts and bruises.from previous confrontations, aware that the shadow had intensified its attacks, taking them beyond the body and into the mind.

—Even if he chases us, even if he hurts us... we will survive—Sara murmured, looking at the others.

Helena took a deep breath, holding her knife and observing the room full ofshadows and blood, with illusions that slowly disappeared.

—And if it ever comes back stronger, we'll be ready. Together.

Adrian clenched his fists, bleeding from recent cuts, but with determination inthe eyes.

—Every shadow, every bloody memory... will be our challenge. But we will not fall.

The four remained united, aware that the shadow attacked not only their bodies but also their minds, manipulating memories, emotions, and their deepest fears. Each night would be a psychological battleground, and each day a test of endurance, gore, and terror that would test their bond and inner strength.

CHAPTER 42 — The Bloody Maze

The town had become a living labyrinth of horror. The streets twisted and turned. The houses themselves warped like raw flesh, and pools of blood snaked across the pavement like serpents, extending tentacles that sought to ensnare the protagonists. Every step was a test of endurance and sanity.

Alex, Sara, Helena, and Adrián advanced cautiously, aware that the shadow no longer attacked only with tentacles or illusions; now it used physical traps that could maim them in seconds. An alley closed behind them, leaving only a narrow exit, while bloody metal spikes emerged from the ground, attempting to pierce their feet and legs.

"Watch out!" Alex shouted. "Every street could be a trap. The shadow is creating a deadly labyrinth."

Sara stepped back, dodging the spikes that emerged like spears.

"It's impossible to move without getting hurt," she whispered, fear in her eyes. "Every step is a risk of death or mutilation."

Helena watched as the fragments of shadow formed mutilated human figures that blocked paths, forcing them to take even more dangerous routes. Each figureIt emitted a smell of burnt meat and fresh blood that made them dizzy and confused.

"We must stay together," said Adrian, dodging a tentacle that emerged from theground—. Separating would mean certain death.

Alex lifted the relic and generated a red glow, disintegrating fragments that blocked the exit. Blood spurted violently from the illusory bodies.dripping on them, staining their clothes and skin, but the relic partially protected them from mutilation.

"Each flash gives us only a few seconds," Alex shouted. "We must plan our next move."

Sara breathed heavily, watching the tentacles emerging from the floor and walls.
