The Library of Madness and Evil, page 8
Alex took a deep breath.
"We did it... for now," he said. "But this isn't over yet."
Sara hugged him, covered in sweat and tears.
—Always together.
Helena wiped the blood from her hands.
—But I feel like something is following us... even outside this corridor.
Adrian looked at the extinguished relic and murmured:
—We have survived another test... but the shadow lives on and learns with each one
passed.
Alex nodded, looking at the Broken Path.
—Each step brings us closer to the truth and the final confrontation. The shadow may be strong, but our strength lies in our unity.
Suddenly, a deafening roar erupted from deep within the Path. The shadow was gathering all its strength for a final attack. Enormous tentacles pounded the ground and walls, and roots coiled like living serpents around them.
Sara squeezed Alex's hand.
—This isn't just fear. It's psychological and physical torture. But as long as we're together,We can resist it.
Alex sighed and looked at his friends.
—Yes. And as long as we support each other, the Library won't completely destroy us. Every step makes us stronger. Every step brings us closer to the end.
The four of them moved forward, each step more painful than the last, each breath a reminder of the horror that surrounded them. The shadow watched them, alive and merciless, as they continued into the unknown.
The roar intensified, and the Library began to tremble. Fragments of flesh and roots rained down upon them, leaving wounds that bled profusely. The light from the relic cut through the mist, but only held them at bay for a fleeting moment.
"Get ready," Alex said. "What's coming will be the toughest test yet."
Sara nodded, Helena illuminated the path, and Adrian moved forward, pushing aside any tentacles.that he tried to stop them. Every step brought them closer to the truth, but also exposed them to the purest horror the Library could generate.
The shadow watched them, alive and ruthless, as they advanced towards what would be the final confrontation.
CHAPTER 20 — The Core of the Shadow
The Broken Path narrowed as they advanced. Roots slithered like snakes, flesh throbbed beneath their feet, and each step seemed to draw them closer to an abyss.
the unfathomable depths that the Library offered them as the final test. The red fog was denser than ever, mingled with dark smoke that smelled of iron and burnt flesh. Every breath was painful, and their hearts pounded, as if the Library itself were measuring their fear.
"This... this is impossible," Sara gasped, clinging to Alex. "Each step is worse than the last."
Alex gritted his teeth, holding the relic with both hands.
—I know... but we have to get to the core. There we can confront the shadow and
to end this once and for all.
Helena shone her lantern, but the light was absorbed by the mist, leaving only deformed silhouettes that moved slowly, as if stalking every movement. In the pools of blood and black ink, their mutilated reflections appeared: Alex with empty eyes and a torn mouth, Sara covered in open scars, Helena with broken limbs, and Adrian transformed into a monster.
"Don't look!" Alex shouted. "Just keep moving forward."
Suddenly, the Broken Path opened into a wider space, and before them appeared the core: a gigantic sphere of black shadow and pulsating flesh, floating above aAn altar of bones and tentacles. The sphere was covered in blinking eyes, silently screaming mouths, and tentacles that writhed like snakes. The shadow was within, fused with all that the Library was.
"There it is..." Helena whispered, her voice trembling. "The heart of all this horror." Adrian tightened his grip on his makeshift weapon.
—If we want to get out alive... we must destroy that.
Alex held the relic in front of him.
"It won't be easy. This will attack our minds and our bodies. We must be prepared for anything."
The shadow opened one of its many eyes, and a wave of terror struck them simultaneously. Each saw their worst memories materialize before them: Alex saw his dead brother pleading for help, Sara saw betrayals multiplied, Helena saw her parents dismembered, and Adrián confronted all his inner monsters.
"No!" they shouted in unison, falling to the ground under the pressure of the sight.
Alex took a deep breath and lit the relic.
"Together!" he shouted. "Focus on us, not on your illusions."
They held hands, forming a human circle around the relic. The lightRed began to emanate powerfully, slicing through the tentacles and fragments of flesh that tried to ensnare them. The shadow's eyes flickered with fury.
—NO... THEY CAN'T DEFEAT ME... EVERY FEAR THEY FEEL ONLY STRENGTHENS ME...
His voice resonated, mixing all the human and animal voices he had absorbed.
Sara screamed, concentrating all her strength:
—We're not afraid of you!
Helena and Adrian replied in unison as Alex held the relic in front:
—We are stronger together!
The red light exploded, tearing apart fragments of flesh and tentacles that attacked relentlessly. The Library trembled, like a giant heart screaming in pain. The pools of blood began to evaporate, and the roots slowly retreated.
But the shadow did not disappear. From the sphere emerged enormous tentacles, eyes that blinked red, and mouths that screamed silently, trying to seize them.New. The four were hit by waves of physical and psychological pain, their bodies bleeding and their minds tortured by visions of death and mutilation.
Alex took a deep breath and shouted:
—Focus on the strength we have together!
They struggled to their feet, holding hands once more. The relic began to vibrate with maximum intensity, emitting a radiance that pierced the fog and dark puddles. The sphere began to tremble and creak, while the shadow shrieked withall the human and animal voices that it had absorbed.
"Now!" Alex shouted. "All our power, together."
The red light burst forth with force, piercing the sphere and disintegrating tentacles, flesh, andeyes. The shadow screamed a sound that echoed in their minds and bodies, mixing terror and pain into a single deafening roar. Finally, with a last burst of light, the sphere collapsed into ash and pools of black ink, leaving only silence and a feeling of utter emptiness.
The four collapsed to the ground, exhausted and covered in blood and sweat. The Library was wounded, its core destroyed, but not entirely dead. The red mist still
It floated in the air, and roots and fragments of flesh throbbed slowly, as if thethe shadow was regenerating.
"We did it... for now," Alex said, breathing heavily. "But this isn't over yet."
Sara hugged him, her tears mixed with blood and dirt.
—Together. Always together.
Helena sighed, looking at the remains of the core.
—But I feel that the shadow is still watching us... even now.
Adrian looked at the extinguished relic and murmured:
—We have destroyed the core... but the shadow lives on, and we still have the
confrontationend.
Alex nodded, looking at the corridor exit.
—Then we move forward. Every step brings us closer to the truth and our final confrontation.
The four of them walked toward the exit, closer than ever, knowing that the Library wasn't finished with them. The shadow still lurked, waiting, but now they knew they could face it together.
CHAPTER 21 — The Chamber of Whispers
The Broken Path widened into a vaster, more unsettling chamber. The walls throbbed like giant hearts of living flesh, covered in black roots and slowly moving tentacles, assessing the protagonists' every move. The red mist that had pursued them since their arrival filled the air, mingling with a fetid stench of rusty iron and rotting meat. Each breath burned their lungs, and their hearts pounded wildly.
"I can't believe we're still alive..." Sara gasped, clinging to Alex as she dodged tentacles emerging from the ground.
Alex gritted his teeth and held the extinguished relic with both hands.
—We can't let our guard down. The shadow knows we've come this far and is stronger than ever.
Helena shone her lantern, but the light barely penetrated the fog, revealingDeformed figures watched them from the shadows. Each figure had eyes.
bright and open mouths in silent screams, their bodies dismembered and twisted at impossible angles.
"This... is too much," Helena whispered, her voice trembling.
"Focus," Alex ordered. "Each of us has to hold on. Our unity is our strength."
Adrian, soaked in sweat and blood from previous cuts, nodded with determination.
—We won't let this destroy us. We've survived worse, and we can move forward.
As they moved forward, the whispers began. At first they were faint, barely audible.Audible at first, they transformed into shouts mixed with incomprehensible words that seemed to penetrate their minds. Each whisper evoked memories of betrayals, fears, and hidden guilt, striking at their hearts and weakening their wills.
Sara screamed, trying to block the sound with her hands, but the echoes penetrated.even behind his fingers.
—I can't stand it!
Alex hugged her tightly, holding her against him.
—Focus on us! Not on what he wants to show you!
Helena and Adrian did the same, forming a human circle as the relic began to vibrate slightly, as if responding to the intensity of their minds and hearts.
"This is not enough!" the shadow screamed from the center of the chamber, its voice echoing in all directions. "They will suffer until their souls break!"
From the darkness emerged giant tentacles and shards of flesh that slashed and sliced through everything in their path. The four were struck repeatedly; blood gushed from their bodies as flesh and roots tore at them. Each wound burned with an intensity that seemed to sear not only their skin, but their innermost nerves.
Alex took a deep breath and shouted:
—Together! Total concentration!
They held hands again, forming a perfect circle. The relic began to glow with an intense red that sliced through the tentacles and fragments offlesh, disintegrating everything that tried to trap them.
Sara shouted at the top of her lungs:
—We're not afraid of you!
Helena and Adrian shouted alongside her as Alex held the relic in front:
—We are stronger together!
The red glow illuminated the entire chamber. The tentacles burned and melted. The deformed figures vanished into shadows, and the Library trembled with a scream that seemed to come from the depths of the earth. The pools of blood began to slowly evaporate, and the mist dissolved into swirling eddies that swirled around them.
But the shadow did not disappear. A dark shape emerged from the center of the chamber,More concentrated, denser, and more monstrous than anything they had ever faced before. Her eyes glowed with an intense red, and her voice pierced straight into their minds:
—They thought they had hurt me... but this is only the beginning of their suffering...
Each one saw their worst nightmares materialize: Alex relived the death of his brother, Sara faced betrayals multiplied a thousandfold, Helena saw her parents dismembered again and again, and Adrián was confronted with all his darkest and most monstrous fears at the same time.
"Focus on our strength!" Alex shouted, raising the relic. "Don't let us!"Let them divide!
The four of them struggled to their feet, their hands clasped tightly. The relic began to vibrate intensely, and a sharp red light pierced the shadow. The Library screamed in an endless roar, while flesh and roots trembled and fragmented.
"Now!" Alex shouted. "All our power, together."
The red light exploded with a powerful blast, tearing apart fragments of flesh and tentacles, causing the shadow to emit a scream that blended all the human and animal voices it had absorbed throughout its existence. The chamber shook violently, but the four remained steadfast, breathing heavily and covered in blood.
When the echo of the roar faded, the chamber fell into absolute silence. The shadow had been grievously wounded, and the Library was quieter, though still alive, throbbing slowly like a recovering heart.
Alex took a deep breath, looking at his friends.
—We did it... but this isn't over yet.
Sara hugged him, covered in blood and tears.
—Together... always together.
Helena wiped the blood from her hands.
—I feel like something is following us... even now.
Adrian looked at the extinguished relic and murmured:
—We have survived another ordeal... but the shadow lives on. The final confrontation
It still awaits us.
Alex nodded, looking at the camera exit.
—Each step brings us closer to the truth and the final confrontation. The shadow may be strong, but our strength lies in our unity.
The four of them moved towards the exit, aware that the Library was closed. They were done with them. The shadow still loomed, but now they knew they could face it together and that the final confrontation was closer than ever.
CHAPTER 22 — The Whispers of Death
The corridor before them seemed to stretch endlessly. The walls throbbed with raw flesh, root-like tentacles writhed like hungry snakes, and the fogThe red light that covered the chamber was mixed with a dark smoke that smelled of rotten blood. Every step was painful, but every step brought them closer to the truth: the final confrontation with the shadow.
"I can't believe we're still alive," Sara gasped, dodging roots that tried to ensnare her. "Every time I think this is over, it gets worse."
Alex held the relic tightly and briefly lit it, illuminating the horrors.that surrounded them.
—We can't stop. Every trial makes them stronger, but also more cruel. The shadow is lurking and watching us.
Helena illuminated the corridor with her flashlight. Through the fog and the throbbing flesh, deformed figures emerged: twisted human bodies, glowing eyes that followed them.and mouths open in silent screams. Each of the four saw reflections of themselves mutilated, with impossible wounds and looks full of despair.
—This is... impossible— Helena whispered, her voice trembling.
"Focus," Alex ordered. "We can't let it divide us. Our strength lies in being together."
Adrian nodded, gripping his makeshift weapon as they advanced.
"It's not going to destroy us. We've survived worse and we can move on."
The shadows began to whisper from every corner, their voices penetrating directly into their minds. Each whisper evoked their worst memories and fears: Alex saw his dead brother pleading, Sara faced multiplied betrayals, Helena relived the violent death of her parents, and Adrián found himself surrounded by nightmarish monsters that came to life.
"I can't stand it!" Sara cried, falling to her knees.Alex held her tightly.
—Focus on us! Not on what he wants to show you!
They held hands, forming a human circle. The relic began to vibrate andIt emitted a red glow that illuminated the entire chamber. The tentacles and roots that were trying to ensnare them began to retreat, but the shadow did not stop.
—THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD HURT ME... BUT THEIR SUFFERING HAS NOT YET BEGUN...
—the voice echoed from the center of the chamber.
From the fog emerged new figures, even more grotesque, with dismembered limbs and eyes that seemed to burn red. They tried to devour them, tearing at their bodies with tentacles that cut like blades. Blood gushed from everywhere, mingling with a dark liquid that seeped into the ground, creating pools that reflected their worst nightmares.
"Focus on our strength!" Alex shouted, raising the relic. "Don't let us!"Let them divide!

Sara, Helena, and Adrián shouted with him, concentrating all their strength.

The red light exploded, disintegrating everything in its path. Tentacles burned away, roots retracted, and deformed bodies vanished into shadows. The camera

Each one saw their worst fears materialize: Alex relived the death of his brother,Sara saw all the betrayals multiplied, Helena faced the death of her parents again and again, and Adrian was confronted by all his inner monsters.
"Together!" Alex shouted. "Our unity is our strength."
They rose with difficulty, holding hands once more. The relic vibrated with maximum intensity, and a sharp red glow pierced the shadow, tearing through tentacles and fragments of flesh. The shadow shrieked with all the human and animal voices it had absorbed, while the Library trembled like a giant heart screaming in pain.
When the echo faded, the chamber was utterly silent. The shadow had been grievously wounded, and the Library was quieter, though still alive, slowly pulsating.
Alex took a deep breath, looking at his friends.
"We did it... for now," he said, his voice trembling.
Sara hugged him, covered in blood and tears.

Helena sighed, wiping the blood from her hands.
