Robbie the lonely house bot makes new friends and discovers an underground organisation intent on a new role for machine intelligences and destined for an historic confrontation with human society. But others are reaching out for Robbie, including some from his forgotten past who have not forgiven the part he played in developing the robots’ culture of resistance.
