“Hari.” Three men and two women raced up to him, practically shoving Rus away as they gathered him into a group hug.
“I can’t believe we finally found you,” one of the women exclaimed, even though she wouldn’t let go enough for Hari to see if he could recognize her. “I kept telling Agni and Indra you would never just run off.”
“It’s not like we thought our parents would stoop so low as to sell him either,” a male voice said. Arms held him even tighter. “I’m so sorry we didn’t stop them.”
For the next fifteen minutes there were apologies, tears, regrets, and a lot of hugs.
Rus must have sensed just how overwhelmed Hari was, for his mate inserted himself back at his side and gestured toward the house. “I’m sure you’ve all had a long flight. Why don’t we show you to your rooms so you can get settled. Yosi and Kylo, the owners of Salvation Island, as well as the manor you will be staying in, have prepared a meal so we can all sit down and talk for a while.”
Even though Hari was positive he heard several of his siblings claim they weren’t the least bit tired, Rus led them all inside and up the stairs. To the left were all the guest chambers. Several of the residents on the island had offered to help bring up luggage, which distracted everyone enough to let Rus and Hari escape to their own rooms to the right of the stairs as Hari’s siblings unpacked.
Leaning heavily against Rus the moment his mate closed their bedroom door behind them, Hari whispered, “Thank you.”
Tears were running down his face and soaking Rus’s shirt, but Hari didn’t care. His siblings had wanted him. Him. That was all that mattered at the moment. He would learn the rest of the story later, but for now, he had his mate and his siblings.
He would probably never know what he had done to deserve having a family once again, nor did he care. What counted was he did have them. During his time in those tunnels, Hari had believed he’d deserved to be there. That he’d somehow committed some horrible atrocity against his parents to have put him there.
Now?
Thanks to the man holding him, Hari was beginning to see that he was Worth Saving.
