Loosening his hold slightly, he releases my lips and stares at them with lust at how swollen they are because of him, and it makes me blush despite all the filthy fucking we have done by now. I’ll probably never get used to his dominance and seduction.
“I could get used to this,” falls from my lips.
A shadow crosses his eyes, but it’s gone as if I imagined it. His stare lingers for a second before he gives me one last, hard kiss and lets me go. I worry I said too much when he doesn’t reply. A sign I shouldn’t have ignored.
*****
Around eight in the evening, we reach our cabin after having dinner at a local café that serves delicious lasagna. Surprisingly, his company was pleasant and his mood was severely better—or he was too good at hiding his emotions. I leaned towards the latter, after going through so much with him. I’m almost afraid that the day has ended and our truce might have come to an end, too. Then he surprises me again.
“Spend the night with me, princess,” he says, standing near the staircase.
“Okay.” My excitement shows on my face.
Caressing my neck, he plants a soft kiss there and whispers in my ear, “I’ll be waiting.”
He takes his time moving up the stairs while I check out his ass covered in those pants that makes him look enticingly masculine. My pussy is already throbbing at the vision of him standing over me, big and broad, watching me squirm while he removes his pants and climbs into bed with me. My fantasies are stopped short when my phone rings in my purse and it’s Sasha. I feel guilty that I completely forgot about my one and only friend here, especially after how things went down the last time we were together. God! She must think I’m a terrible friend.
Hastily, I pick up her phone. “Sasha… hi, I’m so sorry I haven’t been in touch.”
“Maira—listen, are you alone?” she says cryptically.
I pause, worrying if she is in trouble. “Yeah, I am. Why? Are you all right, Sasha?”
“I’m fine. It’s you I’m worried about,” she says nervously, and I can imagine her biting her nails.
I laugh awkwardly. “Why would you be? I’m fine, too. Is it because I haven’t been in touch?”
“You need to stay away from Arav,” she says abruptly, and I’m left stunned.
“What the hell are you talking about?” I’m not sure if I heard her right.
“I’m fucking serious, Maira. He’s going to hurt you, so don’t let him get close to you,” she warns, but nothing she is saying makes sense.
Arav wouldn’t hurt me. My mind flashes back to the time in the woods, him showing up wherever I am, but that doesn’t mean he will. I don’t want to believe her, but something inside me says I should. My mind recalls all the times he’s said he wants me broken, the times he’s pushed me and threatened me. I stand, confused and speechless. My hands twist in my sweater with nerves, and I speak slowly so that he doesn’t hear, even though he’s upstairs.
“How do you know that?” I ask her. “You don’t even know him, Sasha.”
“I heard enough to warn you. Do you know he had a son?”
“Yes. He told me. And that doesn’t make him dangerous,” I reason with her, but I’m shocked to learn she knows about this. “Who told you?”
“I can’t say, Maira.” She says hesitantly, almost like she’s afraid, and it scares me.
“Tell me,” I force her.
With a sign, she speaks. “I heard Keith discussing it with his friends. There’s more, but I can’t say it here, so you need to believe me when I say his intentions aren’t good.” I’m too focused on what she reveals to worry about her being close to Keith.
“What else did you hear?” She stays silent. “Maybe Arav told him when they hung out together. Besides, there’s no history between him and I, so it doesn’t make sense. He’s not going to hurt me.” I don’t even know who I’m trying to convince now, her or myself. My mind is swirling with all this information laid on me with him not too far away.
“He has a private investigator looking into you, Maira.”
It’s like I’m slipping into a dark hole. My heartbeat slows down and my body trembles with nerves. No words come out, and my vision blurs as I try to register what she just said. An investigator. Why does he have someone following me? I cover my mouth to stop the sound of a gasp falling past my lips.
“Maira, are you listening?”
“You’re lying. You—you must have heard it wrong, Sasha. He’s just damaged and broken. He doesn’t want to hurt me. Otherwise why would he share all those secrets with me?”
Everything stops moving and changes in an instant.
“Has he told you that his son was murdered?”
CHAPTER 23
ARAV
Staring out at the moonlit sky with a cigarette burning in my hand, I’m lost in the taste of Maira’s lips and the way her whole body shivers whenever I so much as touch her or simply hold her. She sighs breathlessly and leans into me, trusting that I won’t let her fall. My mind is consumed with the need to lose myself inside her tonight and fuck all my demons away. I’m not ashamed to admit that she was my strength today, and that having her close to me made it all easier. It forces me to wonder if I can keep her in my life once the truth comes out and she ends up hating me.
I regret leaving her downstairs and letting her come to me, and I’m about to turn around to bring her up when I hear soft footfalls coming towards my bedroom door. My hands are itching to tear off her clothes and have her naked and writhing beneath me. As soon as she steps through the door, I’m not wasting another second. I face the door when it creaks open, and her shadow greets me first.
Without even a complete glimpse of her, I sense caution and hesitancy in her steps, especially when she stops once inside my room. My eyes move upwards, and upon seeing the blank expression on her face, I instantly know something is wrong. It makes me stand up straighter. My attention catches on two things immediately. One, the phone she’s holding in her hand very tightly, almost like it’s her lifeline. Two, the stark accusation and fear in her brown eyes, maximizing the foreboding feeling in my gut, and along with it goes the stupid thought I had of making her mine.
I don’t speak and simply watch her, waiting patiently for her to make the first move. I was ready for anything she throws at me, but not the words that fall from her lips.
“Why are you really here?” she says.
I take my time answering her, making sure she knows I’m the one in control and keeping my expression unreadable. Taking one last pull from my cigarette, I throw it on the floor and put out the burning end with my shoe, all while keeping my gaze steady on her. She doesn’t notice that her hands are twisting the edge of her sweater, which is one of her tells when she’s scared.
“Why do you wanna know, princess?” I taunt her with my nickname of her.
“You’re always asking me, so it’s only fair I know your reasons.”
“I’m here to find some answers.” I tell her the truth.
“Are you going to hurt me?” My brows pull together at the question.
“What’s with the twenty questions?” I pause when she looks towards her phone with worry, and it instantly puts me on alert. She catches where my attention went. She takes a step back when I take one forward. “Who called you, Maira?” I take a guess, and the guilty look in her eyes proves me right, making me stop in my tracks.
“Who called you?” I speak softly, as if talking to a wounded animal, and she jerks at my voice but holds strong.
She shakes her head at me and says, “It doesn’t matter.” It pisses me off, but her next words turn my vision black. “You never told me how your son died, Arav.”
The look in her eyes tells me she somehow knows the truth, but I have yet to decide just how much she truly knows. “I told you he was sick.”
“Stop lying to me,” she shouts. “How did he die?”
Stalking across the room, I shove her against the wall and scream in her face, “He was murdered.” Angry, my hands turn into fist and she jerks, but I crowd her. “My six-month-old son was drowned and left for dead.” I push the words out past the lump in my throat.
A tear falls down her cheek, and it only makes me madder. It boils my blood that somehow she managed to learn the truth, which means someone out there knows about my past, and that can hinder all my plans. Especially if they are protecting her, my last fucking hope. “Don’t you dare cry. You knew the truth before I even answered,” I sneer. “What else have you found out tonight, huh?”
“Enough to know you’re nothing but a liar.” She pushes against my chest while more tears form in the corner of her eyes. “That you want something from me, so you kept the truth hidden from me.”
I let her push me away when she begins to struggle harder and watch her put some space between us. With her hand on her waist, she hangs her head low, and her back moves as she takes a deep breath before looking up at me again. “I see it in your eyes that there’s a lot you’re not telling me. That you have skeletons lying in your closet, secrets you are desperate to keep, and somehow I have managed to put myself into the thick of it.”
“I didn’t want you to know my son was brutally murdered, Maira.”
“But you’re not denying that you want something from me. Is that why you have someone following me?” she says with accusation in her eyes. And beneath it, there is fright. Another truth she wasn’t supposed to know. Not when I have come so close to gaining her trust.
That’s it. I’m done playing games with her where she acts like she is the victim. I was foolish to think I could have one more night with her. Stalking over, I pull her arm and hold her neck in a vise grip, and her pulse beats wildly under my fingers. “It’s my turn to ask questions now, princess.”
Then I throw her on my bed, and just as I’m about to straddle her, she jumps out of my reach lightning fast and aims for the door to run away from me. All I can do is laugh at her silly attempt. I’m in no hurry as I straighten up and stalk after her. It takes only two steps before I catch her elbow and pull back against my chest. Like a trapped butterfly, she fights and pulls, but it’s no use against my strength.
Gripping her hair in my fist, I pull her head back and bite her earlobe. “You can’t run away from me. I’ll always hunt you down, little girl.” Carrying her around the waist, I bring her back into the room even as she keeps kicking and struggling. I shut the door and lock it as her breathing turns shallow while watching my movements, and the click of the latch seals her fate for the night. With my free hand, I circle her neck. “Your insolence compels me to punish you. But first, you owe me some answers.”
“I owe you nothing,” she bites out.
“My princess has got some courage tonight, hmm. But it’s all false, isn’t it?” I gibe, “Deep down, you’re just afraid of me.” I shift my hand to the side. “I can feel your pulse beating wildly. Tell me, do you really believe I’ll hurt you?”
“Why do you have an investigator looking into me?” she asks instead, and I squeeze her neck in warning.
“I’m the one asking the questions here,” I growl. “Who called you tonight?”
“Fuck you.”
Her fight and resistance make me want to throw her down and rut into her like an animal. “The more you disobey, the harder your punishment will be, sweetheart. So be my good girl and answer me honestly.”
“I’m not yours,” she says.
“That’s where you’re wrong.” I throw her down on the bed again, and this time I’m faster than her as I hold her down and twist her around so she’s lying on her back and I can stare into the fire and heat in her gaze. It always reminds me of the first time we met, when she was on her knees and giving me the very same look. She’s wearing a sweater that has buttons on the front, and my instincts want me to rip it off. Instead, I patiently unbutton them one by one and torture myself with the waiting, each push teasing me with more of her cleavage.
“Don’t Arav.” She pulls at my hands fruitlessly so I take her wrists and shove them over her head and pull my belt out of my loop. I tie her hands to the headboard and admire my handiwork. She looks beautiful stretched out, her breasts almost popping out of her bra underneath, and I rip the rest of her sweater with the buttons falling on the floor.
“Too late, Maira.” Pushing her bra down, I bare her tits until her dark pink nipples are visible and pucker right in front of me into hard little points. My mouth waters and I bend down to suck them hard and lightly bite her nipples until she moans from the pleasurable pain. She’s helpless as she fights to keep in her sounds while I lick, squeeze and taste until they are swollen, wet and pink from my marks. I’m want to turn her into a needy little mess so that she’ll have no choice but to speak the truth, to be under my spell. “Who were you talking to earlier?”
“Are you mad your secrets got out? That I finally know the man you are?”
I look down at her and pinch her nipple harshly. “You always knew. I have never pretended to be anything but.” Sliding my hand to her collarbone, I hold her there. “You were naïve to believe otherwise. I warned you.”
Leaving her tied up and half-naked in my bed, I slide down from the bed and walk out of my room and I hear her call out behind me. “Where the hell are you going?”
I open the door to her bedroom and go straight towards her nightstand, where I find exactly what I need from her drawer. A twisted smirk graces my lips, because I have been looking forward to this ever since I saw it hiding here. A minute later, I’m back in my room, and if looks could kill, I would be dead by now. Her eyes bug out with embarrassment and lust when they land on her pink vibrator in my hand . It’s long and thick and wide, but nowhere close to the size of my cock.
“Wha—what are you doing, Arav?” she asks nervously.
“You owe me a punishment.”
CHAPTER 24
MAIRA
“How?” is the first word out of my mouth as I ask hesitantly. Not disgust or fear but curiosity. A burning need under my skin. An eagerness to hear what he says.
The unhinged intentions in Arav’s dark gaze scare me though, more than his words, and for a second I’m not sure whether I heard him right. But when I look down to his hands holding my vibrator, I’m both mortified and turned on. I should be worrying about the turn the night has taken, but my body clearly doesn’t get the message my mind is screaming as I feel wetness gather between the folds of my pussy. There’s madness and excitement in his deep voice, like it’s not the first time he’s thought about it, and the palpable tension between us intensifies and takes a life of its own.
“I’m going to fuck your virgin ass raw.”
I shake my head no as words fail to come out. I start to pull my wrists free, but his belt is wrapped tight around them and he watches me struggle with amusement. He leisurely saunters over to the edge of the bed, and I bend my legs and slide up away from him, but I can’t get far.
“Tsk. Tsk. Don’t get so shy now.” He leans forward by putting his fists on each side and his shoulders appear broader, his biceps straining against his shirt. With a slight tilt of his lips, he speaks. “I promise it won’t hurt… much.”
I stare at him like he’s crazy. “You can’t do this.”
“I own every single inch of you, Maira.” he growls while his eyes turn into slits. “Your mouth, your cunt and your ass. You’re mine to use however I please.”
“I’ll answer your questions,” I plead with him, defeated.
He stands up tall and laughs wickedly. “Of course you will. But after you have been disciplined and I’m satisfied you learned your lesson.”
“What lesson is that?”
“To never disobey me.” Gripping my legs, he pulls me towards his body. “Never to run away from me.” Bending down, he grabs my leggings and tears them off my body in one rough jerk, leaving me completely naked. “And taking your punishments like a good little girl.”
My heart beats faster at his sheer display of strength and dominance as he climbs into bed while fully clothed. It enhances the difference between our positions, our dynamic, him always in control and powerful while I submit to his demands.
“Spread your legs,” he commands. He unties my hands, and when I hesitate, he threatens, “I hate repeating myself, sweetheart.” The endearing term slips from his tongue like a warning.
I instantly obey him, not wanting to piss him off further. I suddenly feel shy when both my pussy and my asshole are on full display for him—and that I’m embarrassingly wet down there. He enjoys the humiliation on my face because of the glaring truth that my body loves his brand of touch, command and mercy, no matter how much I deny it with words.
