part #1 of Chronicle of Lightning Series
Jin Yingjun felt a bit confused as he had no idea what he did wrong, he looked at his father and replied, "Father, the child is unsure please do tell me of my affronting?"
The village chief frowned, his forehead now filled with many different strands of veins as he yelled in anger, "Humph! Do you think I wouldn't know? How dare you court that girl?!!!"
His voice rumbling across the room as a dreadful wind scattered most of the surronding objects, Jin Yingjun who was at the forefront of this wind was blown backwards until his back collided with the room's wall.
Bam! His body soon after falling down causing him to slump over on the ground, "Cough! Cough! Father I..." He tried to speak but couldn't properly usher a word due to coughing out two streams of blood.
He then placed his hands on his throat while trying to catch his breath, his thoughts now in utter chaos, "What's going on? Why is this happening? Why did father do this?!" He was now confused, as he had no idea how to answer his father's rage.
The village chief seeing his expression of despair frowned, even more, he slammed the table in front of him and spoke, "Despicable, truly despicable! I didn't think I would have such a silly fool for a son. You have no idea of my hatred, my goals, how can I leave you the family like this? A love-struck man will only meet a swift untimely end, this must be dealt with sooner for she now not only hinders my path but also yours. One day you’ll learn, you will realize what I've said, and why this must be done. Guards! Come take him away and confine him to his room! Until I say otherwise, he must remain there at all times!"
Bang! The door opened a set of swift and fierce looking guards entered, they picked the confused Jin Yingjun up from the ground and dragged him out of the room like a prisoner.
"Father! Why are you doing this? It's only one girl, why can't I be allowed to show my feelings to her?!" Jin Yingjun shouted crazily as he stared at his indifferently looking father.
“Everything I’ve done to this day was for the sake of your mother's wish, I will not let you fall prey to your own fleeting emotions to hinder her desires, preventing this family from rising…” The village chief said while watching his son being pulled out of the room.
“Mother’s wish? Mother would never wish for something like this. Father, you must be confused to think mother would tell you—” Jin Yingjun tried to retort but he was promptly cut off.
“What do you know of your mother’s wishes?! You know nothing of her life, of her pain, or why she’s even deaaad?!!! Huff… huff…” The village chief said in a rage as his breath grew unsteady, he looked at the shocked Jin Yingjun who gazed at him with wide eyes before he regulated his emotions and spoke once more, “You’re better off doing as I tell you, now get him out of my sight!”
“Yes sir!” The gaurds replied as they once more pulled Jin Yingjun towards the outside, he wanted to struggle once more to reason with his father but any more attempts was destined to be for naught, as the village chief was no longer paying him any mind. His eyes were now fixed towards the window where the entrance of the manor could be seen, his mouth rising into a smile as he spoke in a voice that faded into the surroundings, "You've finally made it here... I suppose is time for us to begin!"
Chapter 14
Fen Hua Take’s Action! The Enemy’s Trap!
It was an unusually quiet evening, as an ominous mood filled the air. Fen Hua was now standing on top of one of the nearby rooftops in the vicinity of the village chief's manor, her eyes now fixed on top of a high-quality carriage that had appeared within the vicinity of the mansion, a special carriage with an emblem of fire that blazed around a rock.
She knitted her brows and pondered, "An upper-class carriage of the Molten Rock Village, who is it among those troublesome fellows that has come to this village?"
She continued to observe in detail to see if she could find any clues, but alas, her attempts were made to no avail, as this carriage didn't so much as had a window as if its insides were destined to be shrouded by a layer of perpetual mystery.
Still, she didn't have to wait long to find that this carriage was actually of great significance as she saw a familiar figure walking towards it from the manor. He had a bright smile on his face as he spoke happily with the unseen person from its inside, and then entered into its domain.
Not long after, the carriage accompanied by a few men in cloaks began to leave the manner, as it slowly headed towards the outskirts of the village.
"Jin Tianyun... so you're actually planning something with those who do not care about this village! A truly sneaking bastard you are, today, no matter what you do, I will uncover your plots!" Fen Hua said in a voice of determination as she rapidly pursued the carriage from the high grounds.
Soon, both the carriage and Fen Hua had left the village as they vanished beyond the distant horizon...
∆ ∆ ∆
It was a wide and open field, a region that was far away from the Windtale Village, with broad pastures and strange rocks the protruded from the earth filled with a myriad of worn out engravings. A rugged trail weaving throughout these ranges as they reached towards a forest in the far off distance, one that gave of a dark ambiance as if it was disconnected from this section of the world. Normally, these plains would fill one with a sense of freeness as it would festure amongst a group of travelers the air to adventure beyond its unknown wilds.
But today was a different scene… for a dense rain poured here, the magical creatures that typically roamed these regions now hidden away as if they were hiding from the current storm, as even the usualy bright plants and grasses has closed themselves off taking on a palish hue as they filled the surroundings with a murky atmosphere. The rumbling sounds of thunder echoing as far as one could tell underneath a dense clusters of gloomy clouds. Yet, despite this scene, there was an even more uncommon scenario occurring within, a carriage that was surrounded by a few powerful looking guards was rushing through these wilds like a raging current.
Whip-whip! The cracks of a whip sounding as the coachman spurred the horses whose huffs left blazing trails of flames on the damp ground as they swiftly pulled the carriage through the rugged pathway, making lots of creaking noises as a few guards who rode similar horses followed from a distance nearby; a few of them with tense looks on their faces as they gazed at the behind them through the rainy scene with their weapons in hand.
Inside of the carriage were two individuals, one of them being Jin Tianyun from the Windtale Village along with a very powerful character that hailed from the Molten Rock Village, his figure shrouded by a glamourous looking cloak with rock patterns as a smile was noticeable on his barely visible face.
"Hehehe! You were right Brother Jin, it seems that in the end she really did take up the bait. If things are to go as he planned, we might be able to not only rid ourselves of a common enemy but purge ourselves of these two growing threats." The cloaked figure giggled as he spoke in an effeminate manner, he held two pieces of paper with the faces of Fen Meigui and Dai Lin adeptly drawn on their surfaces.
Jin Tianyun also smiled in reply, "Haha! Indeed so, these plan's are rather good. If she has anyone to blame, she should blame her own bad luck..."
The effeminate man hearing this responded, "Finally, my day of revenge is at hand..."
As the two men laughed, both of their eyes were placed towards one section of the windowless carriage. Their eyes peering through the walls as if they could gaze at the scene on the outside. While the rain continued to pure down mercilessly, the scene behind them began to slowly change, welcoming a new but even more terrifying development.
Swooosh! A series of dreadful green winds swept across the area, as it pushed away the raindrops and added further chaos to this gloomy scene. If one looked closely, they would notice that atop of this endless wind, was the figure of a beautiful woman who wore dark purple robes, her wet black hair no longer bundled together as it loosely hung down her back fluttering wildly in the stormy winds.
As Fen Hua rode the wind, the surrounding trees and rocks below her broke to pieces, joining up with the raging wind storm that swept across the area, painting her with an image no different from a natural disaster.
"These bastards… I have no idea what you have planned you've even gone as far as to lure me out, even if your targets are my sister and my son it won't do you good for 'he' is there to protect them. I want to see today just who is it that wants to provoke my rage!" She cursed while looking at the carriage before with eyes filled with anger.
Not wasting any time, her feet pressed against the currents of wind below her as it caused the storm to grow wilder as it propelled her towards the fleeing carriage. It was at this point in time the guards who were looking behind them with tensed expression noticed her presence, the leader opened his mouth and exclaimed, "The enemy is here! Quickly shoot her down!"
Not wasting any time, they aimed their unique bows that glowed with an amber-ish light towards the distant figure that rode the storm and pulled on their strings with all their might.
Swish-swish-swish! Instantly, a series of blazing arrows shot towards the windstorm with preciseness, these arrows bolted through the air as they cut through the densely pouring rain targeting Fen Hua's heart.
"Foolish..." muttered Fen Hua as she saw their attempt to block her, she then pointed her fingers towards them before yelling, "Air Arrows!"
The moment her voice sounded, a few strands of wind from the green windstorm below her formed into many different green arrows which shot back towards the men. These arrows were swift as they bolted through the air at a speed faster than any modern bullets, a few of them colliding with the blazing arrows fired by the guards causing them to explode as the rest of them soared towards their undefended targets.
The guard leader seeing this was shocked, he opened his mouth and commanded, "Not good! Quickly def--" But, it was a pity, for before he could finish his words the wind arrows had already descended.
Puff-puff-puff! The sound of meat being skewered sounded as the necks of each of the guards along with the leader was pierced through by these bolts of wind, the blood from there throats spewing out as it painting the wet environment with their hue. The leader whose eyes were now dying down looked at the woman who was rapidly nearing them with a look of terror in his eyes as he thought his last words, "She is... too... powerful..."
Flop! His lifeless corpse now falling to the ground along with the rest of the surrounding gaurds as the dense rain pouring down washed away their blood causing it to spread out in the area.
The coachman who was continuing to spurr the horses upon seeing the scene behind him couldn’t help but fall into a state of terror as he shouted, “Mo.. Monster!” His current state of mind causing him to messup his whip control, making one of the horses unstable as the moving carriage had begun to jerked unsteadily.
Jin Tianyun on the inside of the carriage became startled he looked towards the front as if his eyes could peirce through the walls at the coachman and shouted, “You! What are you doing? Get your act together and control the horses!!”
“I… I’m sorry…” The coachman hearing this muttered as he felt the killing aura coming from inside of the carriage, his face that was underneath a wide hat now filled with sweat as he shook his trembling arms once more causing the whip to crack. As this happened, the horse soon after became stable as the carriage once more proceeded at top speed, being pulled by the flaming horses as it continued to make its way towards the nearing forest at crazy speeds.
As he felt that the situation had stabilized, Jin Tianyun smiled as he shouted with a mocking voice from the fleeing carriage, "Hahaha! Fen Hua, is that all you've got? Then it would seem that it was a pity, for your attempts to catch us today will only serve to be in vain!"
Fen Hua who was still pursuing them rode the wind with incredible speeds, she looked at the carriage before her with a dense killing intent as she replied, "You bastard! I don't know what you're up to but I promise that once I catch you, you will beg me for death!"
"Heh! You must be worried, with no idea what we're actually up to, you stupidly pursued us into this distant of a domain. It's a pity, for no matter how you threaten us the one to lose in the end, will be none other than yourself!" Jin Tianyun said with a tone of confidence.
Fen Hua did not retort choosing to remain in silence as she pursued the carriage. After a short while both groups had entered into the domain of the forest, but the very moment this happened the carriage that had been before her had vanished, leaving no evidence of its whereabouts for anyone to trace.
"What?!" Fen Hua exclaimed in shock, she paused her motions as the raging windstorm beneath her had come to a stop; her beautiful figure floating in the air with her fluttering robes and swaying hair drenched by the densely pouring rain, as she carefully looked around the area to sense the slightest change but still couldn't find any clues.
"They vanished... I sense not the slightest fluctuations of elemental energies neither from their life forces or the flames from those blazing steeds. How could this happen? There should be no one other than a few specific people capable of shrouding my senses. Hmm, there might be something strange about this region..."
As Fen Hua thought to here, she decided to try and experiment, she pointed her fingers towards the sky causing it to become suffused by a bright greenish glow as she yelled, "Raging Storm Blades!"
Instantly, a series of sharp wind noises could be heard, many different gales of greenish winds shot from out of a windstorm forming arcs that gleamed sharply at their edges. They soared through the air, cutting through the rain and any objects within the surrounding kilometer distance in an unstoppable manner.
However, despite this devastating technique, the scene of chaos and destruction with sliced up trees and rocks was nowhere to be seen. It was as if those blades of winds had passed through nothing as the trees stood toweringly while the rocks didn't even have so much as a chip on their surface.
Fen Hua seeing this was even more surprised as she spoke out loud with a look of anger on her face, "This... isn't this a sealing array? How can they both have access to an array of such power? Who is it that’s helping these fellows to plot against my family? Wait… could it be those from the Central Stormlands and Majorland? But that’s not right… with the blockage Mu Feng and I created they should not have been able to find out about Dai Lin until a few more years, they would never target my sister either as they would have only wanted him as he is a Child of Lightning. The only way for them to do this would be if one of them had entered these lesser lands, and called upon the strenghts of those whom they believe would act against me for their own selfish desires… but the question is who? Who could… wait…"
As Fen Hua spoke to here, she had recalled a strange rumor that occurred a little after a year ago. A rumor about a certain individual who was said to have went into seclusion within this lesser land. Her thoughts now growing wild as her eyes showed a trace of shock, “Would it be him?”
As Fen Hua was lost in her thoughts, the sound of Jin Tianyun could once more be heard, "Fen Hua... how do you like it? This is a present that we've prepared for you for a long time, please be a good girl and wait here until the other matters are completed."
"You! Do you think I am foolish enough to believe that two pieces of trash that are not from the central and major lands will suddenly get their hands on such a powerful trapping method!" Fen Hua cursed out loud as she began to slowly lose herself to anger, her eyes showing a trace of scarlet red.
"Believe what you will, but the main fact will never change, you are doomed to be trapped here and there is nothing you can do about it. Also, by the time you are even able to free yourself, your beloved sister and adorable son will both be dead!!"Jin Tianyun said in a menacing manner.
"Jing Tianyu! If you have a grudge against me because of what happened last year we could have handled our differences by ourselves. As for the Molten Rock Village, I do not remember forming a debt of hatred with you, so why do you aid Tianyun against me?" Fen Hua replied back angrily.
"Hehehe!" The emasculate sound of the laughter belonging to the shrouded figure from the Molten Rock Village now sounded, he replied, "Humph! Of course, you won't remember, but that will be your greatest mistake! For what you've done to me in the past, and for the sake of the future, I shall make today become your most vivid memory! Oh, and don't worry we won't leave you here by yourself, there will be someone to keep you company. Please, consider it as a nice parting gift from enemies to another..." As soon as the voice said this, there was a change...
Rumble! The world within the area began to shake as the sky shook and rain began to slowly diminish leaving behind only the ominously gloomy clouds. While this happened, Fen Hua looked around her with shock as she began to feel a strange but powerful energy as if this power was the source of chaos itself. She looked at the sky in shock as she exclaimed, "This power! Where did they get this?!!!"
Her voice rumbling across the world, as her eyes became filled with a desperate look of seriousness as if the thing that was about to appear was the most powerful being she had ever faced in a long, long time...
