"Get away from here! Don't stay any closer to this scene for that guy is a monster!" One of the villagers exclaimed as he distanced himself from the tavern.

Mu Feng seeing this frowned as his anger rose to the peak as he looked at the man before him and spoke, "Since it is such... then I guess we can only fight..."

His hair now rising above his head as it transitioned from its normal color to a green and orange hue. If one looked into his eyes, they would see that his pupils had become bright green as his body now overflowed with a dazzling radiance of life energy.

The man seeing this finally removed his smile, his eyes showing a hint of serious intent as the pressures around him rose sharply, he spread his arms wide lifting them up above his head as his palms hung downwards with his fingers looking similar to an eagle’s claws.

"This is what I've been waiting for..." He said in a tone of bliss as if he had waited for this day for a long, long time...

As the battle was about to begin for those two destined enemies, far away from the tavern and the loud bustling areas of the village, was the silent residence of the village chief. Its courtyard was currently empty devoid of outsiders, as only a few guards patrolled the area on neatly paved pathways that connected to various inner structures.

At this time, the figure of a slender attractive girl with infatuated looking eyes had appeared, she ran through the pathway and only stopped once she arrived at the main building of residence that had two well-armored men standing at guard.

The guards looked at her in silence before they turned their eyes to elsewhere as if she was of no concern. After calming her breath for a moment, and cleaning herself up she put on her most radiant smile and charming expression as she slowly walked to the door and cupped her hands together. "Brother Jin, it's me Jinu... I've come to visit you..."

After a moment of silence, a sound could be heard from behind the door, "Oh... so it's you? Enter if you wish.."

As Elie Jinu heard this, her expression became brighter as she had a look of victory on her face, she quickly entered the room vanishing behind the doors which soon after tightly closed.

The guards on the outside seeming to be made of stone as they paid her no mind, one of them looked at the other and spoke in a soft tone, “Should we realy let her in?”

The other guard hearing his words smiled and replied, “The master said to not let him out, he didn’t say restricting anyone from going in…”

As the other guard heard this he shook his head, the two of them returning to silence as they continued to keep watch over the courtyard on this dark and ominous night...

  Chapter 20

  An Illfated Love? Meigui’s Wish…

The night was quiet as if it was trying to portray the dismal ambiance that loomed over the settlement. More and more villagers were quickly becoming aware of the chaotic scene above them, as a few had also started to notice the ring of flames in the distant wilds. They bundled together and began to discuss among themselves so as to try and piece together the current circumstances.

"There's something strange about all of this, I feel that there is another battle going on in the wilds! Look over there, that should be the region of the Enchanted Grove, its outskirts now blanketed by flames…" One person said while poiting towards that direction.

"Indeed, tonight's matters seem rather fishy. I suggest we form a party to go and inspect the situation!" Another person said in a loud voice.

  "That's right!"

"This has gone on long enough! Let's go!"

Many of these surrounding villagers nodding and agreeing with his statements as they felt it would be best to swiftly get to the bottom of what was currently in motion. Quickly, they banded together and march towards the wilds as they sought out the true source of their villages turmoil. Yet, despite this grand display, the scene within the village chief's residence was an unusually calm one as if the matters of the outside world was of no concern to those within its boundaries. It was a pity though, its tranquil silence could not last...

Bang! The large door belonging to the luxurious residence of Jin Yingjun was slammed open wide as a handsome figure garbed in high-quality silk robes ran out like the swift wind, his face currently filled with a hint of panic but mostly anger.

"Dammit! Dammit!! Father! Why must you do this?!" Jin Yingjun cursed in his mind as he rushed out of the residence like a blur, his figure swiftly making his way through the streets as he ran towards the distant exit of the village.

The guards who kept watch of his room both looking at each other in shock as they had no idea what was going on, they quickly reacted by rushing forwards at full speeds while shouting. "Young Master Jin stop right now! You are forbidden to leave the mansion!"

Swish! Swish! As the forms of everyone soon after vanished from one's field of sight, the figure of Elie Jinu could be seen slowly making her way outside of the room, her face sullen with a deep red palm print on the corners of her cheek as her eyes were red with tear stains; she bit her lips tightly, causing the blood to flow down her lips as she clenched her fists in a tight manner, her long nails now piercing the surface of her skin between her palms.

If one looked at her closely, they would see that her eyes were now glowing in an even more sinister manner as she looked towards the location Jin Yingjun ran while she thought to herself in a hysterical manner, "You bastard! How dare you choose her over me?! You should all just die! Die! Die!! Die!!!" Her mind slowly recalling the scene that occurred within the room behind her, a few moments ago...

  ∆ ∆ ∆

The interior of the private room was a warm one, as the very moment Elie Jinu entered its domain she became swept by a wave of comforting warm energies.

An odd flaming object was currently rotating at its center as behind it was a large bed capable of holding four persons, along with a very wide desk. There were many different types of high-class furniture that were arranged side by side as stacks of papers showing different stances of martial forms were scattered about with the majority of them on the large desk.

Behind this desk was the handsome figure of Jin Yingjun who sat with his head facing the ceiling as if contemplating the world, his eyes shimmering in a sad light.

Elie Jinu was momentarily cast into a daze upon seeing this scene but she quickly cleared her fantasies and spoke in an excited voice, "Brother Jin! Brother Jin! I have good news for you!"

Jin Yingjun who was in a pretty sad mood sat around his desk and calmly glanced at her before he asked, "Oh, Fellow Apprentice Jinu, for you to come to my residence at such an hour this news must be quite important. I'm curious, what does this news of yours entail?"

Elie Jinu hearing his words paused for a moment before she smiled and replied with a look of madness on her face, "Brother Jin, I've always known that you liked Fellow Apprentice Meigui. I... I remember that day when you asked for her to accompany you, you must have done it with a good heart and with full determination to express your hidden sentiments. I too understand your feelings, for I too am in love with someone, unable to control my own desires. Her rejection must have hurt you right? Don't worry, because I can promise that from now on... she won't ever bother ‘us’ again..."

Elie Jinu felt rather pleased upon expressing her sentiments as her mind was currently lost into a realm of fantasy, her deep emotions for Jin Yingjun unable to make clearly right from wrong. However, unlike Elie Jinu, the current expression of Jin Yingjun was one of puzzlement before transitioning to shock and disbelief. His eyes became blurry, as his veins became visible on his forehead expressing his current rage. He opened his mouth wide while looking at the euphoric Jinu before he yelled, "What have you done to Meigui?!!"

The moment his voice rumbled across the room, his figure that was previously seated behind the desk rushed forwards knocking both the desk and chair out of place, as he swiftly arrived before Elie Jinu and grasped the collar of her dress while lifting her up. It was a good thing that his room was insulated as no matter how loud the disturbance within no sound would be transmitted to the outside.

Elie Jinu who had just been in a state of bliss seemed to have been tossed in cold water, her face now showing a surprised look as well as a hint of fear. She panicked while she stutteringly replied to his question, "I... I... Brother Jin, I thought you were angry with her! I thought you hated her! I didn't mean it, I only wanted her to never appear before you... before us, ever again! Look, I even went as far as to collect these feathers, you know of the legend right, that these feathers can grand any wishes. If we use it together we will be able to wish for an eternity, an eternity of endless love and passion where nothing or anyone else will be of matter..."

As she spoke, she lifted up an opened box in her arms and revealed the five brightly glowing golden feathers that floated above her palms.

"These... these feathers..." Jin Yingjun hearing her words became lost as he looked at the feather's in her hands in shock, his mind went blank as he realized that she had most likely stolen these from Meigui.

When he thought about what kind of state Fen Meigui could be in for her to easily lose these feathers to the weak and non-talented Jinu, his eyes grew panicked as a vicious aura filled his being, he looked at Elie Jinu with a face that was filled with ruthlessness as he lifted his hand and slapped her harshly across her face causing her to fall to the ground with a large bruise visible on her cheek.

After smacking her away, his other arm grabbed the feathers from the air tightly as if they were his most prized objects, after staring at them intently for a short while he cast his gaze towards Jinu and spoke indifferently.

"Us? What us? There is not, and never will there be and us! Now, cut the crap and tell me where she is right now!!!" Jin Yingjun yelled in a fit of rage with bloodshot eyes as his mood became ragged, his elemental energies growing unstable as a dark wind swept across the room knocking down the furniture, scattering the stacks of papers causing them to glide about like feathers.

Elie Jinu who was now collapsed on the floor sit herself up while her legs remain sprawled open, she slowly lifted her hands to the corners of her now bruised right cheek with teardrops as she stared at Jin Yingjun in a daze, her mood now falling to its lowest point as her eyes become dull as if she had lost all signs of life.

"Answer me!!!" Jin Yingjun roared in anger his dark wind elemental energy growing even wilder causing the papers to circle around the room, creating a spectacular but fearful scene.

Elie Jinu now looking to have been awakened from her daze, looked at him lifelessly and indifferently, her eyes as cold as the deepest glaciers as she spoke in a soft but cruel voice, "She should already be dead, but if there's a chance that she's alive... I'm sure... no, I'm certain that your father will be sure to take care of it. Since you want to find her then go, travel to the west, and at a few kilometers from there you should see a wonderful picture transpiring in the wilds..."

Jin Yingjun was now too preoccupied with another matter upon hearing her words, no longer paying her any regard his mind went crazy as his thoughts roared, "Father? What does---? Wait! It couldn't be! Oh no!"

As if realizing something, Jin Yingjun quickly stormed out of the room bursting the door open before his figure vanished outside of the residence.

"Please! Please be ok!" His thoughts roared as he rushed forwards with full speeds while tightly grasping the feathers in his palm.

Elie Jinu who had now completely changed into a cold and ruthless young female looked at the scene before her in a slight daze, as she exited the room her eyes shone with a dark light as her figure rapidly headed towards her mother’s location, her thoughts now unknown to the world...

  ∆ ∆ ∆

Blaze! A burning ring of flames blanketed all things in sight as only at its epicenter was there a region devoid of its fury. A scorched patch of land that was now covered in ash, as only the body of the gorgeous Fen Meigui could be seen still lying in a pool of her own blood along with the sleeping Dai Lin within her embrace, her face now pale as it was quickly losing all signs of life with each passing moment.

Dai Lin who had been previously sleeping seemed to have been roused by something, his nose twitched as he smelled the scent of her blood. Quickly, he opened his large eyes and rubbed them with his small balled up fists. He looked at the scene around him in confusion before he looked at the dying Fen Meigui who lied below him in a pool of expanding blood.

"Aunty? Aunty what's wrong?!" Dai Lin asked in a shock, his feeling now one of fear as he had no idea what was going on to his aunty.

"Little Dai... aunty... can't protect you... anymore... run... run away... from here... now... cough!" Fen Meigui muttered strugglingly as she once more coughed out another mouthful of blood.

Dai Lin hearing her words didn't understand, he looked at the blood from her mouth and the hole in her lower chest with a fearful look on his face, his small hands trying to cover the large wound as he spoke, "Aunty don't go! Dai-dai is here! Dai-dai will heal you!"

As he spoke, his small arms couldn't properly cover the wounds on her chest, this caused the blood to spew out nonstop staining his small hands and clothes. Dai Lin looked at the scene before him with a look of panic in his eyes, his large innocent eyes quickly turning red as beads of tears fell down his cheeks.

"No-no-no! Aunty!" Dai Lin struggled as he cried upon realizing that there was nothing he could do to help.

Fen Meigui seeing this expression smiled, her pale face showing a hint of life despite her current state. She slowly lifted her bloody palms and grasp the side of his face, causing her blood to stain his cheeks as she spoke, "Little... Dai... don't cry..."

She said while wiping his tears with her thumb, before continuing, "Remember... remember what aunty... told you?"

Dai Lin hearing these words seemed to have slightly calmed down, his tears still falling as he replied, "Aunty... aunty spoke of wishes!"

"Yes... that's my smart... Little Dai... wishes...." Fen Hua said satisfiedly while looking at his face, she gathered herself once more and spoke again with a soft look in her eyes, "Little Dai... there are many things in this world… that cannot be explained... cough! The mysteries of the world we live in… the mysteries of the very tower that we fight in order to see its limits. I too shall now enter into a different kind of mystery… one that is more obscure than the rest... while I may no longer be able to keep you company… nor be your shield to protect you forever..."

As she spoke to here, her voice started to wane as her face grew even paler while her hands that held Dai Lin's cheeks started to lose strength.

"But I’ll promise you… so… so long as you ever wish for me… I will always be near. Always remember… to never forget... the power… that lies.... in... w…i…s…h…e…s..." With these last words, the arms that held Dai Lin's cheeks suddenly grow cold, they then slid down and fall onto the bloody ground as a serene smile could now be seen on Fen Meigui's face.

Her once lively face now completely pale as her bright eyes became dull and lifeless, Dai Lin seeing the state of his aunt before him shook as his tears fell down his cheeks without stopping.

"Aunty Fen!! Uwaaaahh!!!" Dai Lin wailed as his head fell on top of her bloody chest, his small arms gripping her dress as he trembled while crying. His voice now resounding across the blazing field as a sad mood instantly filled the desolate air...

  Chapter 21

  Dai Lin’s Transformation? Heaven’s Wrath!

The sky was colored in an array of colorful splendors but unlike this sight, the earth below was of an opposing mood. An aura of sadness looming across this scorched land as the blazing field was immersed by the wailings of a small and pitiful child who kneeled on top of the scorched earth. His body covered in the blood of a beautiful figure that laid lifelessly below him as the tears ran down his round cheeks as if an endless supply, he balled up his tiny palms into two little fists as he lifted his head high, causing his bright blue hair to fall behind his head.

"Uwaaaaaaah!" Little Dai Lin wailed in agony as his eyes went blank along with his sense of reasoning. His cry seeming to carry a strange kind of power, trembling the lives of all things that were still within his vicinity.

Not too far away from this scene, were the figures of the hawk masked man and cloaked men who floated in the air. They gazed at the scene below them as if they were watching a play as they spoke, "Whew! She was a tough one, even with her vitals pierced and losing so much blood she had still taken quite some time to pass away."

"Sigh, its a pity we didn't get to have a little fun before she went..." Another of the men said in a tone of regret as his eyes flashed lewdly.

  "A pity indeed..."

"Tsk! Enough about such matters, we still have one more target to eradicate!" The hawk masked man said as he pointed below at the figure of the crying Dai Lin.

The men looked at him while laughing, "Boss! You really want us to handle that brat, a baby whose recently stopped drinking milk?"

The hawk masked man knitted his brows feeling slightly annoyed as he replied, "I don't give a shit! While the major threat being the talented girl has died, we were also told to remove his existence, making him an extra bonus to rewards. Now hurry it up and kill the kid!!"

Hearing his commands the men stopped laughing as they looked at Dai Lin with a look of greed in their eyes, they rapidly flew down preparing to finish him. Yet, it was at this moment that Dai Lin who had been crying ceaselessly seemed to have come to a halt. His head still raised high with his mouth wide open and blank tearstained pupils that gave one a sense of returning to one's roots, a type of pureness that could only be linked with unconsciousness.

The men seeing this paused their motions as they had no idea what he was up to, despite their previous words these men were still quite cautious and would not rashly jump into an unknown situation.

The hawk masked man seeing the scene below him frowned, he looked at Dai Lin carefully as he inspected, "What's this kid up to? Hmm? So he's only lost consciousness, then there should be nothing to be concerned for..."
