“You’re a crazy old fool to not want to get your leg checked out,” I countered. “You know he’s the only doctor we have here!”

Was he really going to put his life at risk for stubbornness and paranoia? So what if Otis was a lunatic on good days? It was better than nothing. He definitely wouldn’t last another trip out there in search of another person with medical experience. Ashborne’s crazy doc was it.

I dragged Eliseo until we made it to the doctor’s house above ground. There was a small coating of dust in his living room from disuse, and doubt began to crawl into me. Eliseo might die from the dirtiness of this damn house. Maybe this was a bad idea after all.

Before I could change my mind and leave with Eliseo, the doc came in with his apron and gloves donned. Reed and Gunner followed behind him distrustfully—they were watching him, too.

Their presence put me a little more at ease… until I saw someone else come in with his tools. Scalpels, knives, hacksaws, bandages, and a whole lot more.

“Fuck this shit,” Eliseo blurted out, trying to pull me out of the house.

Reed placed a hand on his chest to stop him with a scowl. “Your leg is fucking infected. I can smell that shit from here.”

  “It’s fucking fine!” Eliseo snapped.

“Suck up your pride and get this over with,” Gunner retorted before shifting his gaze toward crazy Otis. “We’ll make sure the doc don't try nothing else but what he needs to do.”

“Now why would you say that?” the doctor grinned as his makeshift assistant left the house without looking back.

Gunner turned around with his arms crossed in a defensive stance. “Because if you fuck this up, you’re not getting the shit you sent us out to find,” he gritted out.

The doctor snarled and slammed his hand down on the counter of his kitchen. His face went from pissed, murderous, to a maniacal smile in mere minutes. “Have it your way.”

He turned to Eliseo and his eyes went wild. I took a step back with Eliseo, unsure of what to expect.

“Put him on the table,” the doctor instructed, confident I was going to do what he said.

Looking at each other for confirmation, the boys and I lifted him through all his curses and kicks. Gunner and Reed physically held him down when he started throwing fists, dodging his attempts at stopping them.

I grabbed his face and kissed him firmly, forcing him to concentrate on me and me alone. The tension ever so slowly left his body as his hands threaded through my hair, kissing me back just as passionately.

I ended our liplock, panting, placing my forehead against his. “Please, Eliseo. I need you.”

“Fucking hell, Sili. Dammit!” He slammed the back of his head onto the table and ran a frustrated hand down his face.

The doc shoved me aside rudely and leaned into Eliseo’s ear, whispering something I couldn’t hear. Eliseo glared at him.

“Reed give me something to bite on,” he barked. “Gunner, get me some fucking whiskey.”

The boys did as he ordered, moving around the doctor’s home while I continued to stare at crazy Otis, watching his every move. If he tried anything other than what needed to be done, I would bleed him out alive.

The doctor looked at me with a demented smile before going to his tools gleefully.

I didn’t catch Reed leaving the house, but he reentered through the front door with two belts in hand. He folded one and shoved it in Eliseo’s mouth while creating a tourniquet around Eliseo’s right thigh near his groin, making him groan in pain.

Gunner came back with two bottles of whiskey, one in each hand. When Eliseo spotted him, he spit out the belt and said, “Give me some of that shit.”

“You got it, old man.” Gunner poured a few gulps down Eliseo’s throat before shoving the belt back where it belonged.

Crazy Otis sneered as he grabbed one of the bottles from Gunner’s hand, opened it, and poured it all over the wound. Eliseo screamed bloody murder behind the leather belt, the veins on his temples and neck popping out.

The doc cackled, shoved the bottle back into Gunner’s chest, and grabbed his scalpel to cut around the skin above his knee. My hands grabbed Eliseo’s fist when he tried to throw a punch at the doctor’s head. I kissed his knuckles to calm him down as he threw his other arm over his face to cut off visual from what Otis was doing to him.

The sound of metal clattering on metal made us all jerk our heads as Crazy Otis grabbed a bigger knife to cut through the muscle and tendons still intact around the bone.

“Whiskey,” the doc called out. Gunner handed it to him.

More was poured over the wound, washing away the fresh gush of blood. Eliseo turned his upper torso to hide his face against my belly. I caressed his back, praying it would be over soon… But it was only the beginning as the doc climbed onto the table with a hacksaw, placing the serrated edge against the exposed bone.

“Hold him well, dearie,” he said to me with a psychotic smile right before he began sawing.

Eliseo spit out the leather and screamed in agony. The townspeople who had accumulated around the open doorway of the doctor’s home all screamed with him, some covering their eyes and briskly removing themselves. Why were they here to begin with if they couldn’t handle the sight?

The sound of someone hurling outside made me lift my lip in disgust. I was infuriated by the community wanting to use Eliseo as part of their entertainment. My eyes burned with retribution as I stared at the doctor’s glistening forehead, his arms and entire body putting forth full effort to cut Eliseo’s leg off.

“Get out of here folks, there’s nothing more to see.” Reed tried to corral the remaining crowd away, and I was grateful.

Gunner took a swig of the whiskey, his skin getting pallid as he stared at the doctor’s brutal handiwork.

  Snap!

Eliseo groaned against my stomach and I pulled him in tighter against me.

“Ah, there we are,” the doctor exclaimed before hopping off the table with his bloodied saw, tossing it onto his other table full of tools haphazardly. He wiped his hands over his apron and looked over his shoulder at me with a smirk. “My dear, are you good with a needle? I do hope so, because Eliseo wouldn’t want my hands on him after this.”

I audibly swallowed as I caressed the back of Eliseo’s head before casting my gaze down at him. His body was starting to go slack against me from exhaustion. I was conflicted. I didn’t want to cause him further pain than he had already gone through… but if he passes out, he wouldn't feel it, right?

The sound of glass hitting the counter made my head snap up to see Gunner. “Fitri, do it. I got him.”

I bit my bottom lip and nodded, shakily walking toward the doctor’s table of instruments. Otis came up behind me, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand as he leaned in to whisper, “I have full faith you’ll make it through this. Pain probably arouses you—you seem like the type. If it gets too much, old Otis can take care of non-medical needs, too.”

I frowned and elbowed him away from me, but he dodged, snickering as he walked away with one of the bottles of whiskey.

“What the fuck did he say to you?” Reed growled.

  “Nothing.”

Grabbing the needle and spool of thread, I made my way back to Eliseo on the table. Reed walked over to the counter, grabbed the other bottle, and handed it to me to sanitize the needle.

Taking a deep breath, I pulled one of my knives out and cut the thread. Looking to the guys for courage, they both stood on either side of Eliseo’s upper torso, ready to hold him down.

Leaning over him, the first stitch went smoothly, Eliseo fading into unconsciousness. The smell of his blood close to my nares made my mouth water and I shook my head, endeavoring to stay focused. In and out the needle went, pulling his flesh together to suture the wound around the bone. The doc left enough flesh behind to create a meaty cushion around the bottom of the amputated bone. Toward the end of my sewing, I was drunk on his scent and needed to sit down to regain my bearings. Breathing through my mouth, I tied off the thread and sliced it. Leaning my hands against the table, I tried to catch my breath and slow my heart.

“You alright, Fitri?” Reed asked with worry.

“Hey, we got it, go get some rest,” Gunner added.

Maybe they were right. Maybe I was just tired from our trip. “I-I’ll see you guys later. Let me know if anything changes, or if he wakes up, okay?”

“Yeah, we got it,” Reed answered softly. “Get some rest.”

I nodded and walked toward the small crowd still milling about the front of the doctor’s house.

“Don’t you guys have anything better to do?” I barked out, maddened they were still here. Some of the crowd dispersed with fear in their eyes as I approached them, some stayed with stubborn curiosity.

Shouldering my way past the remnants, I went home. Standing in front of my door, I reached in my hair for a pin, only to realize, I hadn’t worn my hair up since we were gone. Slamming my head against the door, I slowed my breathing, trying to calm myself.

“Fitri!” Gunner’s voice came from behind me.

When his hand touched my shoulder, I turned around and buried my face into his chest, frustrated over everything life threw at us during this journey.

“Hey, it’s alright. Shhh.” He rubbed my back and led me to his house, gently placing me on his couch beside him.

“Wash up. Then rest. I’ll be back to check on you,” he assured me.

“What about you?” He wasn’t looking too good during the surgery, swigging whiskey every twenty minutes. At least his color was coming back.

He smiled gently before standing up and kissing me on the forehead. “I like that you worry about me, but I’m alright.”

I watched as he left the house without looking back or saying another word. I was too tired to attempt to decipher what he meant. Standing up from the couch, I walked to his kitchen and turned the sink on. It sputtered aggressively before finally giving me a steady flow.

My hands were still coated in Eliseo’s blood. My heart pounded as I brought it to the front of my lips, slowly turning it around.

Still drunk on his scent, I stuck a blood-coated finger into my mouth and savored his taste, humming in appreciation. I throbbed between my legs, missing his cock, and I choked back a cry at how messed up this was. I shoved my hands under the running water, scrubbing until the welts on my skin began to bleed, going down the drain with everything else.

Wiping them on my pants to dry, I went back to the couch, kicking off my boots and pants, falling to the side. I buried my hands under my head, letting the exhaustion of the day finally take me over.

  ELISEO

  “Here, let me help you.”

“Fuck this! I don’t need your fucking help. I got it!” I yelled, right before I fell on my ass out of bed.

“You’re such a cranky asshole!” Sili screamed back, rushing toward me to help me back onto the edge of the bed.

I flopped backward and ran a hand down my face, then covered it with my arms. This was exactly why I didn’t want her to do this shit. Why did she have to go and get crazy Otis? He had been dying to cause me misery from the moment I met him.

It was probably why he sent us out on the stupid mission to begin with. He wanted us all to die and never come back for whatever nefarious plans he had. In the end, it was a win-win for him because we did come back—with the shit he requested.

“What am I here for?” Sili sighed. “I’m here for you, you cranky bastard.”

She climbed on top of me and pushed my arms away from my face, rubbing her cute little nose against mine. She melted my damn heart, even when I was being an extra, irate asshole these days.

“You’re just a little frustrated,” she whispered. “I can help with that, too.”

She slowly kissed me and my anger dissipated with every swipe of her lips against mine. Her sexual appetites have elevated lately, and I perceptively questioned why. But the moment it crossed my mind to ask, she had a way of distracting me. Like now. Her hand ran down my chest seductively and into the waist of my pants, stroking me to life.

I groaned at her tease and flipped her over, losing balance a bit since I couldn’t seem to remember I only had one knee.

She chuckled and pushed my pants the rest of the way down, letting my dick spring forth and slap her naked inner thigh. Grinding against her, another groan slipped out over how wet she was. She never did accumulate panties again after our trip, and I was glad for it.

Well, not when we were around the other guys. The hunger in their eyes was a growing irritation, but then I remembered I was just an old bastard with one leg, and she continued to choose to be with me.

Damn this line of thinking. One fucking leg. It was making my dick go soft until she dug her claws into my shoulders, pulled me in, and bit me on the neck. My erection grew at such a high rate, I became lightheaded as the blood rushed through my body into her hungry mouth.

She confessed the smell of my blood got her drunk with need and lust after the guys dropped me off back home post-surgery. Both she and I knew she was evolving again, but it didn’t stop me from protecting her and providing her what she needed. In fact, I swelled with pride.

No one had to know. As long as we kept it to ourselves, everything should go on the way it always did.

“Eliseo,” she moaned against my neck lustfully. “Your blood is like a drug to me. It tastes so damn good and makes me so horny.” My cock strained toward her, wetting her inner thigh with precum.

When her tongue lapped up the puncture wound, she caressed my face, turned it, and shared the taste of blood in my mouth. It was erotic, and I was a sucker for everything that was Fitri. Her other hand grabbed my shaft firmly and shoved it between her legs with ease.

Thrusting slowly inside of her, she gasped in my mouth. “Look at how well you stretch around me, taking my cock.”

I cursed under my breath with the next thrust. I gave her all my passion through our kiss, broadcasting how much she meant to me. But Sili had other plans as she flipped us over with her inhuman strength and rode my cock like we were both going to get executed tomorrow.

“I need to feel you deeper,” she whined, throwing her head back. “I need you so badly.”

“Shit, Sili. You can have whatever the fuck you want, especially if it’s my dick inside of you.”

I grabbed her hips to slow her down, but she was too strong when she was lost like this. Beautiful in her rage and her passion, she ground her clit against me until she cried out in pleasure, clutching my cock with a vice grip and forcing me over the edge with her.

She fell limp on top of me, panting, exhausted, and stretching like a damn feline as her hands continued to roam my body, secretly begging for more.

“Sili, we should get up.” As much as I wanted to lounge around with her, I needed to train with my damn makeshift prosthetic the guys got me.

“Why? I like where I am,” she complained, heavily breathing against my chest.

It appeared during our absence, Ashborne acquired a welder who was able to utilize the extra metal we had lying around to fabricate a false leg with a hinged knee and spring-hinged ankle. A supply run was made on my behalf by the guys to find a mannequin leg they could use to help the project along.

And who would have thought a damn tree lover and gardener would be the one to inform us of a way to acquire natural rubber to coat the inside of fabric to protect my stump?

Sili’s tongue traced the wound on my neck and my dick twitched inside of her. I was conflicted with what needed to be done and what I wanted to do. “Sili, baby, we gotta get up. I want to be buried inside of you everyday, but I need to get used to this leg of mine.”

She made an adorable sad sound and I chuckled, sitting up with her still on my lap with her arms around my neck. Kissing her chastely, I detached us and moved her to the side before reaching over for my prosthetic.

She placed her delicate hand on my chest as she bent over and grabbed it for me, teasing me with the sight of her glistening, swollen pussy lips. Slapping her on the ass, she yelped and handed it over with a mischievous smile.

“Get your ass ready for training. Stop trying to tempt me to stay here,” I snapped with pseudo agitation.

“That’s what I’m doing!” She laughed and walked to the other side of the room to find her pants and boots, bending at the waist seductively in front of me.

“Dammit woman,” I growled in frustration, debating whether I should stay here and fuck the bratiness out of her.

We miraculously made it out of the house after another quick fuck over the arm of the couch, emerging in time for the community to start their day. With the additional residents we accumulated during our mission away, the mornings were louder than what they used to be with people hustling and bustling in the center of Ashborne.

Fitri walked a step ahead of me, bracing for any accidents as I descended the steps of my front porch. I had fallen a few times, but not lately. I appreciated her caution nonetheless. She was good for my cranky old soul. Honestly, I was surprised she put up with me on bad days.

“Eliseo! You down to train today?” Gunner called out, walking beside Samuel and Hannah.

Fitri waved shyly at Hannah, who enthusiastically squealed and ran toward her. My lips twitched in a suppressed smile. Hannah had taken to Sili since our return, glad her man made it back home alive and intact—unlike myself.

“Hey…” Sili said weakly and I nudged her. “Hey.”

“Hey, girl!” Hannah yelled over, causing some of the residents nearby to turn and look.

Sili was wary about the friendship at first, but was slowly getting used to the idea. Hannah still didn't know all the details about her extra abilities, and we let Sili decide when it was the right time to expose her secrets. Margaret, the old lady Sili saved while she was running from Samuel, had also become one of her friends, gracing us with extra vegetables on our doorstep on random mornings.

“Fitri! I heard the last run was a trade and they got some new livestock. Did you see the baby lamb born the other week? It’s so cute! Come on, let’s go.” Hannah pulled her away as Sili gave me a ‘save me’ look I ignored.
