“I’m so telling my brother you want Terra’s vagina.” Jenna jumped away as Brenda swung her arm out to slap at her.

“Leave my cookie out of this, ladies. It’s all for Kale.”

  O=O=O

“I thought I was dying today after lunch. Now, I’m really dying. I’m so relaxed right now I am going to melt into this chair.” I was dressed in a fluffy white robe, leaned back in a large chair that was massaging my back, a mask of some gooey stuff on my face and cucumbers over my eyes. My hair was up in a cap for some deep conditioning, a woman was rubbing my feet for my pedicure and another was working on my hands. “If my crotch wasn’t on fire and I wasn’t straddling a cold pack, I would be just perfect.”

All three girls laughed at me and I was pretty sure the women working on our hands and feet chimed in too.

“I’m going to have to have Sam come down here and carry me up to our room. I’m a noodle right now.” Carlie groaned suddenly and then said something that sounded like, “Oh yeah. Right there.”

“You know what’s funny? It’s like now we know what each of us sounds like while we are having really good sex.” Brenda laughed when Carlie moaned again. “I’m guessing Carlie is the most vocal of the crowd.”

“Well, I for one don’t know what I sound like during sex.” Jenna piped in cheerfully. “Neither does Terra.”

“It’s been so long for me that I have no idea.” Brenda moaned for a second and then continued. “I haven’t had sex in years.”

“You date all the time.” Jenna put in. I had no comments here because I had known these women for less than a day.

“I date. I don’t fuck. I am not ready yet.” I waited for Brenda to say something else to explain but she was silent.

“When does he come home?” Carlie asked softly.

“Kale says they’re not really sure. He’s been good so maybe he won’t have to stay the full term.” Brenda sighed loudly. “He won’t let me visit him. Says he doesn’t want me to wait for him. Refuses to write to me or anything.”

“Oh, honey.” Carlie sounded so sad for Brenda.

“He doesn’t want you to stop your life just because he did.” I knew a little about what he might be feeling, even though there hadn’t been anyone alive who I cared about seeing me. “He doesn’t want you to see him like that. Defenseless, at the mercy of others.”

“Kale said something kind of like that.” Brenda paused for a second. “Was it hard for you to have visitors?”

“The only time I had visitors was when Lisa came up to see me a few months ago. I didn’t have anyone else.”

“No family or anything for ten years?” Carlie asked quietly.

“I’m all alone. My whole family is dead.”

  “Oh, sweetheart. That’s so sad.”

“You have our family now. It’s a big, fucked up, psychotic mess. But, it’s a good family. And you have the club now. And Sam and Zeke’s family. And their club. Shit, you might want to go back inside once you realize how many of us there are for you now.” Jenna laughed a little bit. “My parents. They’re part of that, of course.”

“So, you belong to your Mom and your Dad, but Kale is your half-brother, right?” I asked Jenna.

“Yeah. All of them are my half-brothers. Clem and Kale belong to my Dad. Bird and Daughtry belong to my Mom.” Jenna paused for a second. “Hold on, I think I got that messed up.”

“I think that Clem and Daughtry are your Mom’s and the other two are your Dad’s.” Brenda put in but then paused for a second. “No, that’s not right either.”

“Well, Bird and Clem have the same hair color. Maybe they belong to Martha. Kale’s hair color is the same as Daughtry’s. It’s like Smokey’s.” Carlie sounded just as confused as the other two.

“I know that there are two and two from a letter Kale wrote me, but I don’t think he specified.” I sat there for a second and got my thoughts in order. “You know what amazes me? Jenna, you’re their sister and you have no idea which kid belongs to which parent. Do you know how odd that is? There’s no delineation in the family dynamic. You all just belong together.”

“Wow, big words there, Cookie Monster. But, yeah, we’re just their kids.” Jenna laughed for a second. “Now I’m curious, but I think Carlie is right.”

“You’re lucky to have such a close family, Jenna. So lucky.” Brenda sounded sad again. “I have brothers and sisters that live in the same town as me and I wouldn’t piss in their ear if their brains were on fire.”

I heard the woman who was doing my nails snort and then try and stifle a laugh at Brenda’s comment.

“I’m lucky that they love me, but I know that we aren’t like other families. There are things about us...about all of us. I just...” We were all silent as Jenna tried to find the right words. I heard her sniff a few times and I wanted to reach out to her. “I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”

“Okay then. One of you tell me something embarrassing about Kale.” All three of the women started talking at once. I laughed out loud for a second as they spoke. “Okay, one at a time. Jenna, you go first.”

“We were out riding one time. I was on the back of Bird’s bike; my Mom was on the back of Dad’s bike. The other three were riding alone. We pulled over on this country road because Kale had to pee. So, he gets off his bike and walks away a little bit. Mom and I looked away and then we heard this really loud scream. Dad and the others were running toward Kale. He was on the ground and moving around like he was in pain.” Jenna paused and then Brenda interrupted her.

“Oh, shit! Was it a snake?”

  “It was an electric fence!”

The four of us laughed until our stomach’s hurt as Jenna told the rest of the story through bouts of her own laughter.

I had never in my life been this relaxed or this carefree. I took a deep breath and thought to myself that I should never forget this day. The day I found my people.

“Thank you for coming today. I’ll have our lawyers get official copies of the paperwork to you before the end of the week.” Mr. Michaelson stood up across the table from us and my brothers and I did the same.

My brothers and I had a business meeting with a company here in Salt Lake to talk about selling our custom motorcycles in his showrooms. This business deal was completely legit and could possibly net my family and I millions of dollars. Michaelson had a ‘friend’ here from a television network that had also wanted to talk to us. It would affect his bottom line in selling our custom work if we decided to go with the television exec’s offer too.

“I’d like for you to think about the television offer my associate spoke to you about. It could be beneficial to your club and even your town if it’s something you think you can do.”

Bird spoke up since he was the President of the Texas Kings. “That’s not something we can make a decision about without a club vote. If it’s that good of an opportunity it can stew a bit while we talk it through.”

Mr. Michaelson nodded his head and moved around the table toward the door. “Things move fast in that business, so I wouldn’t let it stew too long. It was a pleasure to meet the four of you, and I look forward to our business in the future.”

We each shook his hand as we walked out of the conference room. All four of us were silent as we followed a little nerdy guy in a suit down the hall and to the elevators. None of us said anything while in the elevator or through the lobby to our motorcycles.

We all silently got on the bikes, started them up and drove away from the curb headed to our hotel. I knew that my brothers were thinking the same thoughts I was. The draw of the money we could make was there, of course, but the repercussions to our club was in the forefront of all our minds.

I decided to put this new development to the back of my mind and concentrate on the evening I had planned with Terra. She should be in the spa right now with the girls, getting her toes painted and relaxing a little bit. Hopefully the things Lisa had planned for today wouldn’t be too much too soon for Terra while she tried to adjust to her newfound freedom.

I had worried about that since Lisa told me her plan, so I had made an effort to calm things down for our evening. It would be just the two of us together tonight. A quiet dinner and some conversation. And, if my dick had his say, we would be naked and fucking before midnight.

No. I was not going to do that. As much as I wanted to, I also wanted Terra to be comfortable with me and her first time to be something she could cherish. I didn’t want to be the guy that pushed her too far too soon.

Terra had shocked me today as we said goodbye. She didn’t ask me what I was doing, only told me to be safe. The fact that she knew I wouldn’t be able to tell her everything I did in my life and was okay with it amazed me.

She’d make a great Old Lady for me.

I let that roll through my mind for a minute or two and realized that the thought didn’t freak me out nearly as much as I thought it should.

Damn. And she was fucking beautiful to go along with it. I needed to keep reminding myself that she needed to find her feet before I did anything I couldn’t take back. I liked the girl. I liked her a whole lot. I didn’t want to hurt her or make her think she was stuck with me. I also didn’t want to hurt her because that would cause Lisa heartache. The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt my friend.

I made a promise to myself not to touch Terra. Okay, well not to touch her without clothes. As long as we keep the clothes on we can kiss and stuff, but no sex. At all.

My jeans were getting damn uncomfortable right now, just thinking about it.

  O=O=O

I said goodbye to my brothers as I pushed the hotel room door open. When I walked in the first thing I noticed were the shopping bags piled on the couch and chairs of the little sitting area. It looked like the girls enjoyed their shopping trip.

On the way through the lobby I asked the concierge if the girls were still in the spa and he called back to check for me. I had about an hour before Terra was finished and that was just enough to shower and call the chef downstairs to check on what I had ordered for this evening.

I moved to the large bathroom and stripped off my clothes as I waited for the water to steam up the room. I laid my knives on the vanity beside my rings and wallet. I looked in the mirror at my reflection and stared for a second. My hair was longer than it had been in a while and right now it was falling into my eyes. I needed to go ahead and shave again so that my face was smooth later when I kissed Terra.

I didn’t want to leave any whisker burn on her beautiful brown skin.

I smiled to myself as I turned to get into the shower. As the door closed behind me, I remembered the look on her face when she realized I didn’t care what her skin color was. In my lifestyle I had encountered all sorts of people. Some bikers didn’t like people of any other color. Hell, there were some men in my own club who might have a problem with Terra just because of her skin.

I realized that I wouldn’t have a problem beating their ass if they said anything disrespectful to her. I looked down at the shower floor as the water ran over my head while I thought of that. I was already putting her before my club. I needed to get that shit in order right now. That couldn’t happen.

I finished my shower quickly and realized I still had quite a bit of time before the girls were finished downstairs. I made a call to the concierge asking them to send someone up for Terra’s new clothes so that they could be laundered for her by tomorrow when it was time for us to check out. They assured me that they would be up to get her things in just a few minutes.

I picked up my cell and called Bird. He answered on the first ring and then hung up when I asked him to come down to my room. I stood at the open door and waited on him to make his way down the hall to me.

“What’s up, brother?” Bird asked as he stepped into the room. “Fuck, those girls can shop, can’t they?”

He looked at all the bags laying around the room and laughed.

“Even I know not to give my card to Jenna, man, but Brenda too? Damn. We’re gonna need to make you a TV star just to pay off this day.”

Bird turned to me when I didn’t comment and realized that there was really something wrong.

  “What?” He was instantly serious.

“There’s some guys in the club. You know they had a problem when Lout prospected for us and we squashed it. Hell, after we patched him in he squashed it himself. But, Terra. What the fuck am I supposed to do if they say some shit about Terra?”

“I’ll kill ‘em. Or you can.”

“I’ve never even thought of choosing someone else over my club. My brothers in the club. Fuck, man. I don’t know how to think about this.”

“You’re looking at it the wrong way, man. What the fuck would Smokey do if someone said some shit about Mama? He’d fucking kill them. Simple as that.” Bird lifted his hands and then dropped them. “Don’t see how that’s a question for you. We’ll deal.”

“Yeah, but Smokey loves her. They’re married.”

“Oh. So that’s the core of this, huh? You don’t know you already love her.”

“I don’t think I have it in me.”

“So, you don’t love Jenna? Or Mama? Or Lisa? Or Brighten? Or me?”

“Well, of course. Except maybe you, fucker.”

“Exactly. You’re just afraid because it’s Terra. This is new ground for you.”

“I’ve never woken up in bed with a woman before.”

“You’ve never had a reason to. It’s scaring the hell out of you.”

I blew out a breath. “Yeah. Kind of.”

“Fucking roll with it, man. She’s fucking hot and funny. Not sure what she went in for, but ten years isn’t something to sneeze at. Apparently, she doesn’t have a problem straddling the line the law draws in the sand. What was she in for, anyway?”

  I shrugged my shoulders.

“You really don’t care, do you?” Bird asked me as he walked to the door. “Lisa loves her. I trust that. I think you do too. Give it a fucking chance, man. Look at all Smokey and Mama went through and look where they are now. I’m not ashamed to say I want that. I want to have a woman I can depend on. One who looks at me like Mama does Smokey.” Bird opened the door. “Now, after saying how much I want that shit, I’m going to go get laid and party at Rocket’s clubhouse again. Show Clem and Daughtry how they do shit up here. Don’t plan on leaving early tomorrow. You remember what happened last time we were here.”

I laughed out loud. “I don’t remember much about that night, but I do remember how out of it you were the next morning. Blueberry boy.”

“Fuck you, man.” Bird flipped me off as he walked out the door.

Just a few minutes later a hotel employee came in. I told her what I needed her to do with the laundry and then I went and sat on the balcony with a beer from the mini bar while she sorted the clothes to take with her.

By the time I came in for another beer the lady was gone and there was only a line of boots and shoes lined up against the back of the couch to show that the girls had gone shopping today. I flopped down on the couch and propped my feet on the coffee table as I sipped my beer.

Look at me, I thought to myself. Just a few weeks ago I tortured a guy to death to get information about him dealing drugs in my town. Now, I’m sitting in a five-star hotel, sipping an outrageously priced beer, waiting on my ex-con girlfriend to get finished with her spa treatment day.

If that didn’t deserve a fucking television show, I couldn’t imagine what would.

  O=O=O

  TERRA

I used the key card that Carlie had given me to get into our room. I opened the door and saw Kale asleep on the couch, a beer in his hand, resting between his long legs.

I turned and slowly closed the door, so I didn’t wake him up from his nap. I realized that none of my shopping bags were here like they should be, but instead of freaking out I went and sat in one of the chairs that faced the couch.

Kale was a beautiful man, but in sleep he looked softer, more approachable. His dark hair hung down in his face and he almost looked like a little boy. When I moved my gaze down his face, I saw his pouty lips and remembered how it felt to kiss him. I squirmed a little bit in my chair at the memory.

Just the thought of the man made me tingle in all the right places. I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if his hands were on me.

Speaking of hands, my gaze moved down to look at them. One was resting on his abs, and those looked delicious too, but for the first time I paid attention to the tattoos on his hands. He was the man in the picture! The one holding Brighten while they napped in the chair. I remembered the pouty lips I had noticed in the profile of the man in the picture. And, the tattoo on his hand was the same.

Lisa sent me a picture of Kale even though she insisted that she didn’t want us to know what the other one looked like. That devious little witch, I thought as I smiled to myself.

My gaze moved down his legs to see the tear in his jeans at his knee. From here I could see that there was a tattoo on the skin just above the rip. I couldn’t make out what it was exactly, but I could see the black edge of the ink peeking out at me.

So, his whole body was covered in tattoos? He had them from his knuckles up to the wrist where his shirt covered. I looked back up at the neck of his shirt and saw ink peeking out there too. I had a tattooed biker who could have walked down the runway next to Marky Mark during his Calvin Klein days sitting on the couch in front of me.

Good Lord in heaven, when I thought about the letter where I told him I would shake his hand if I didn’t think he was attractive, I had wasted ink on that. He was the most attractive man I had ever seen.

But, it wasn’t just that. There was something about his eyes. They were so clear and blue, but they were deep, like they were holding all his secrets.

I looked down at my hands. Secrets. Yeah, I had one of my own. I was pretty sure that if the women I had been with this afternoon knew what it was they wouldn’t have been nearly as open with me. Or, if Kale and his brothers knew what I had done, they might not be so nice to me either.
