For some reason my mind snapped to Terra. She and I had written to each other five or six times now. Even though I didn’t know what she looked like I imagined her joining this little hen party and having a blast. I’d have to remember to tell her about it in tonight's letter.
I looked over at Sam smirk at me.
“Really?”
Carlie grimaced. “It kind of snowballed.”
“You think?”
“But, here’s my idea. You find some of the girls that are good dancers. Ones that Drea won’t try to kill. We arrange times for them to give us lessons when the bar is closed. We pay them for their time. Your girls can make some cash under the table, we can learn to groove sexy for our men and get a workout all at the same time.”
“Well. Actually, it sounds like a good plan. One big problem. Drea wants to kill everyone. She’s still pissed at me that I broke up with her in the seventh grade and took some other chick to the fall dance. You notice I said some other chick. It’s been so fucking long I don’t know who the girl was. Drea could tell you. She is fucking nuts.” I saw Sam nodding his head behind Carlie. “You can’t hinge this on Drea. And you have to keep a leash on her mouth or my girls will claw her face off. Anyway. I’ll put some feelers out here and at the other clubs we have. I’ll ask our best girls if they want in. I’m sure at least a few of them will do it. Maybe have a different one here occasionally, get a different perspective. All of them dance different after all.”
Carlie and I had been watching the dancers on the three stages downstairs as we spoke.
“How do you mean, they all dance different?”
“Well, over there to the right. That’s Monique. She’s more athletic. Does stunts and acrobatics on the pole more than anything. In the middle, that’s Barbie. I swear, that’s actually her name. She’s more of a crawl around on the floor tit shaker than acrobatic.” I pointed to the third girl who was just coming out on the floor. “On the small stage over on the left is Candace. That girl dances even when there’s no music on. She just grooves all the time. She does some acrobatics, she shakes her ass, her tits, crawls around on the floor looking hot. The whole package.”
“Oh, okay. I see what you mean. So, let’s say we have a few lessons with one like Monique. Learn the pole stuff. Some time with Candace to give us some rhythm and moves. A little time with Barbie to get the sexy walk Marilyn Monroe thing down that she’s got going for her.” Carlie turned to me and nodded her head. “This will be fucking awesome. So much better than going to the gym.”
“If you say so, sweetheart.” I took a swig of my beer as I turned my chair to face Carlie and Sam. “When do we want to start this little adventure?”
“We’ve got a lot of club stuff going on pretty soon. We’ve got our hands full getting everything prepared. How about sometime in the fall?”
I nodded at her and picked up my phone to add some items to my calendar.
“I’ve got sometimes set up for mid-September to remind me to get some girls lined out. Get with your girls and find a weekday or two that they can arrange this around their work schedules. None of my girls come to work until 5. Do this while their kids are in school, they make a little extra money on the side, don’t have to pay a sitter. Everyone’s happy.”
“You’re the shit, Kale.”
“I know, babe. I know. That’s what all the girls say.”
Kale,
I was so happy to see your letter. I forgot to ask you last time, what color are your birds? Are they the little parakeets that twitter or are you really a pirate with a big parrot on your shoulder?
I am pretty sure that Starburst has no redeeming qualities as an actual fruit. Ask your dentist. I bet he knows for sure. My favorite fruits are oranges and pineapple. I haven’t had fresh slices of either of those in ten years now.
Yes, I like steak. From a cow. But, especially from a deer. I’m from Alaska. I started hunting with my father when I was really young. He was an outdoors kind of guy until my Mom got sick and we moved closer to family. It was a culture shock to move from our home in the woods to a city. People here were not very accepting of us at all and it made things difficult. I just wanted to go home but my Mom had good doctors here, so it was worth all the problems.
My Mom, Dad, brother and me all lived with my Aunt and Uncle until I ended up here. I miss all of them.
Riding on your motorcycle sounds like heaven. Sunshine, wind, freedom. You know what I miss most about the free world? Rain. I miss sitting on the porch of our cabin watching the rain fall down through the trees. If I close my eyes I can almost smell the wet dirt, the moisture in the air, making everything clean again. Then I open my eyes and the smell of 3000 nasty damn women along with cafeteria slop and Pine Sol rushes back in. Ick. I want to play in the rain.
Do you like to read? I do. Of course. I work it into my busy social schedule every single chance I get. So, I read a lot. Favorite author is Tom Clancy right now. Most of the girls like the romance novels we get in, but I really don’t. I’ve never had romance, but then again, I’ve never been involved in international espionage either. Maybe I should read them and see what I should expect in a relationship.
What are your pets’ names? It will tell me a lot about you when I find out what you call your animals. Maybe I can figure out what kind of dogs they are just by their names. We’ll see.
Lisa said you come over all the time to see the baby. I can’t wait to hold her. Will you give her a smooch from me, please? Tell her I said, “Hello.”
I will write more tomorrow. I’m in a funk today. I should be happy. Only 136 days left!
Time is crawling by and it makes me grumpy.
“You know your voice is kind of nice when your mouth isn’t screwing it up.” - Goonies
Terra
Grumpy girl,
136 days is better than 136 months. Well I guess now it’s really 132. By the time you get this it will be down into the 120’s. See, just look at it like that. I understand grumpy. I’m an asshole so you’re still a notch or two above me on your worst day.
My dogs are named Leon and Rolo. The birds are Scarlett and Merlin. The cat is just asshole. I’m serious. She appeared at my door one night and I thought she was kind of cute and fluffy. I picked her up and the little shit bit me. She’s lucky I feed her. You name her.
Deer steak is damn good. You were raised as a hunter? An outdoor girl? Oh, prison is probably ten times harder for you. The smell of the rain is the best and you probably haven’t touched any in years.
So, Alaska wouldn’t work for me. I’m not a big fan of cold weather.
Tom Clancy is the shit. Have you read all the books? Honestly, if I could meet a famous person it would be Clancy. I have so many questions to ask him about his characters and why they did this or that. What famous person would you meet?
My sister is our little Princess. She’s going through a tough time right now and nothing we do can pull her out of it. I’m afraid I was too pushy on an issue we had a while back and she did something she is going to regret because of me. We are all trying to help her through it. I miss her smile.
Brighten is doing good. She’s starting to lift her head up and look at me sometimes. She smiled but Lisa said it was gas. I don’t smile when I fart unless I am aiming it at one of my brothers. I think it was a real smile and Lisa is just pissed that I got the first one.
Work sucks. The accountant can’t seem to explain anything to me that makes sense. I know I’m not the smartest kid in the class but damn, there’s got to be a way. I’m beginning to think he’s hiding something.
So, you’ve never had romance? Those boys in Alaska and Utah don’t know how to woo their girls? I’ll have to tell my brothers that if they move up there they can use their charm and the women won’t know what hit them. Might be the only way they can find a woman.
Hell, even I can romance a woman if I put my mind to it. It’s helped me out quite a bit in my life. I can be charming when the mood strikes.
I’ll write again soon. Probably tomorrow when I am at my desk trying to figure out the books the sweaty little weasel is keeping. You should come work for us when you get out. Think about it.
Answer me some questions: Metallica / Lynrd Skynrd? Coke / Pepsi? Chocolate / vanilla? Hot / mild salsa? Snickers / Butterfinger? When is your birthday?
By the way, Lifesavers should be a food group.

“Everyone’s current on their dues, bills are paid so the lights will stay on. Daughtry got an estimate from a plumber and tile guy to redo the showers upstairs in each room. Will need each of you to kick in a portion when your room is done. New tile, fixtures, all the shit. We’ll start on Bird’s room and move down the list from there.” Hank leaned back in his chair, his update for the week over.
“Bear, the prospect, he’s got some history with construction shit. Did anyone talk to him?” Clem was the brother that knew information about everyone in the club. He was the kind of guy anyone could talk to and he soaked their information in like a sponge. “Talk to him first. Get some input.”
“That I can do.” Daughtry made a note on the pad in front of him.
“Okay, so we’re all caught up on bullshit. Let’s move on to the rest. Nobody’s been sniffing around about the truck girls they found at the rest stop. Cops say some man went ape shit and shot his wife and his employees at a trucking company outside of town. Sad situation when someone goes off the rails that way.” Bird smiled at the table in general and a few of the men slapped the table like applause. “The rest of the information we got from our guests when they stayed downstairs is being looked into. One of the kids said that the man in charge is in Lubbock now, from Mexico originally. Says the name is Salazar, which fits. Chan and Grunt are making some inquiries. If any of you have any ideas on who else to talk to and what trees to shake, put them out there. If not today, then find me this week. Grunt. Tell us about the protection gig you were approached on.”
“Need four men. Two each on twelve-hour shifts. Got a man whose brother is coming to town for a few weeks. Guy’s famous or some shit and wants local protection. He’s coming in under the radar and wants it to stay that way. I was thinking Lout and Fain in one crew, John and Mattie in another. Questions, guys?”
All four of the men in the spotlight shook their heads.
“Job starts next Sunday night. I’ll get the details about his flight and all that shit to you. Will need to have all four of you clear of jobs for a while. That’s all I got.”
“Cops got a guy, a fucking kid really, who OD’d at the park last night. He had some horse on him and it was laced with some really rough shit. He took a small hit and was foaming at the mouth within seconds.” Lout passed around a driver’s license photo of the guy who had died. I looked at it before I passed it on and saw that he looked fresh out of high school. “Cops got another kid in the ER with the same shit. Same little baggie on that kid. Had a four-leaf clover stamped on the bags from both kids. Never seen that. Neither kid has a connection to each other, no one around them has any idea where they got their shit.”
“Did you shake down a few dealers, see what they know?” I leaned up in my chair as I looked down the table at Lout. “Maybe someone’s coming in under the radar. Take the patches, the prospects, get out and ask questions.”
“We’ll do that tonight after it gets a little darker outside. I’ll get with the guys over a beer and map out a plan.”
“I have a fresh map of town. Most recent one from the city. Got a friend to make me some copies of it. Came in handy when we were looking for Jenna.” Chandler fiddled with the pen in front of him for a minute. “The wife wants to have all of you, and the prospects, over for a cookout soon. After the problems last time we had a family thing she doesn’t want to come back to the clubhouse for a while.”
“The prospect that did that shit is gone. So is the sweetbutt. You tell her that?” Bird asked Chandler. When Chan nodded, Bird continued. “I understand where she’s coming from, that’s why we have the rules about how everyone behaves during family things. We’ll come to your house. Steph’s been our friend since grade school. I hate that she feels like she can’t come around here, but I appreciate she’ll have us in her home.”
I nodded as did all of the men around the table. “I’ll be there. It’s gonna piss off every one of your fucking neighbors, but we’ll come, brother. She’s our family too.”
Some of the men around the table laughed as Chandler shook his head at my comment.
“That’s all as far as I’ve got.” Bird waited for any comments before he smacked the gavel on the table and started to get up.
“Bird, Clem, Daughtry. Wait a minute. Got family business to discuss before we get out there.” I opened the books in front of me that I had received from the accountant this afternoon. I opened them to the first marker I had put in and turned them to my brothers who were all now seated across the table from me. “I don’t understand, and the fucker can’t give me a straight fucking answer. Need someone to look these over. See why the fat little fucker sounds like a squeak toy every time I ask him a question. That shit keeps up and I’ll give him to my dogs.”
“Fuck. He came highly recommended by Walter before he retired.” Bird pulled the book closer to him and started slowly flipping pages. “I got no fucking clue, man. I don’t even know what I’m looking at.”
“Might have a replacement for him but it will be six months at least.” Bird looked up at me and I saw Clem start to smile.
“The inmate.” Daughtry said simply. “Lisa’s friend.”
“She know this shit?” Bird asked. He didn’t care she was in prison. Hell, two of his own brothers had served time. He didn’t have a problem with ex-cons as long as their shit was straight now.
“Yeah. Lisa mentioned it a while back, and Terra put it in a letter. She has an accounting degree and also business management. She got both inside.”
Daughtry and Clem both nodded. Bird looked down at the books for a minute before he looked back up at me.
“Not sure it can wait six months if he’s fucking us on all fronts. I’ll take these home and look them over, maybe get Brenda to lay some eyes on them. She was always the smartest of us. I’ll see if I can run them over to Walter and get his thoughts. Maybe he can take over until she gets here.”
“Sounds good. I’ll call Monday and make sure that taxes are paid up, permits are in order. Can’t let either of those get fucked up. Day to day money we can take a hit. Any of that shit goes we’re screwed.”
“I’ll sift through his office at the Slipper in the morning when I open. He’s out of town until Thursday. We need some answers by then if we can.” Clem pulled the books in front of him. “I don’t know shit about how to keep books, but I’ve wondered at a few purchases. There was one a month or so ago for Home Depot. I didn’t go there. Don’t think any of you did. I didn’t think odd of it then but now for some reason it sticks out.”
“I’ll tell Walter what you guys are feeling about him. See what he thinks. We can have Chan run some shit on him. See if he’s got some debt we don’t know about. Any habits.” Bird slapped the book closed and picked it up as he stood.
“Now, let’s go join the party.”
O=O=O
I put my hands behind my head as I watched Rachel. I’d had a few drinks downstairs after the meeting before Rachel walked up beside me at the bar. One smile at her and her hand was on my dick. I finished my drink and the conversation with Bear while she rubbed on me through my jeans.
Once we got upstairs to the room she was more than ready. I wasn’t, but it would happen. She was a pro and her mouth was outstanding.
But, outstanding or not, things just wouldn’t work. No matter how much she fondled me or used her mouth, I couldn’t get hard. She’d been working at me for at least twenty minutes with her mouth and I just couldn’t get either head in the game.
Every time I closed my eyes I wondered what Terra’s mouth would feel like on me. Or if her tits would look like Denise’s. Would her nipples be dark against her skin or that peachy color?
What the fuck was wrong with me that I was spending time on a bitch I had never even met. I blamed it on Zeke and Lisa and that baby of theirs. I had never been one to think about family and forever until they started their domestic bliss bullshit.
Finally, I let out a frustrated breath. I reached over and slapped Rachel on her naked ass.
“Not tonight, baby. Good try though. Thanks.”
She took her mouth off of me and smiled. “I can still make things happen, baby. Just give me another minute”
“Not tonight.”
“Why don’t I just lay here with you and snuggle for a little bit. We can play later.” Rachel started to crawl up my body to lay next to me.
“Snuggle? No. Head on out.”
“Awww. Okay. Maybe next time.”
“Yeah, hon. Next time.” I made a mental note to quit bringing Rachel to my room. Seems she is getting ideas.

Kale,
So, I guess you must be a pirate. You didn’t answer my question about your birds so you’re ashamed of the patch and the peg leg, aren’t you? It’s okay, matey.
So, I think Rolo is a weenie dog. Leon is a mutt. Rolo is small, Leon is maybe medium sized. How’d I do on my guesses?
To answer your questions: Metallica, Coke, Chocolate, Mild salsa, Butterfinger and August 31st.
Little fact for you. I’m almost 27 years old. I’ve never had romance or been charmed by a man. Had a few women try, obviously, but I was able to resist. Easily.
I wasn’t allowed to date until I was 16. I was arrested three days after my sixteenth birthday. I’ve never even had a kiss. And no, before you go into that fantasy that it’s a lesbian pussyfest up in here and I had to have gotten some nookie a different way, I have not. The only person to touch my cookie is me. So far. How fucked up is that?
Yeah, Lisa wants to hook you up with a virgin. Don’t kill her. She means well. No pressure, though. I’ve thought about that. Lisa speaks highly of you. I don’t want it to be weird that you think you have to do something just because you don’t want to hurt her feelings or even mine. She made me promise not to tell you what I look like. I’ll honor that. Let’s just say, if you don’t like the way I look when y'all pick me up, then stick your hand out to shake mine. If you don’t melt the butter on my biscuit, I’ll do the same. Doesn’t have to be weird and we can still be pals. Deal?
