‘Now you’re really being stupid!’ he snapped. ‘It’s not all about kids!’

‘It is if you want a child like I did. Something to care for and nurture’

  ‘Get a dog.’

‘This is the only thing I have that proves I was married other than the divorce documents.’

  ‘Don’t forget the alimony.’

  ‘You obviously haven’t!’

‘Seems pretty sad your situation,’ he said sympathetically. ‘Maybe you really have some mental health problems.’

‘Give me back the picture,’ she moaned and sat on the bed looking up at him, suddenly feeling deflated. ‘I know I should’ve destroyed it. Please let this go and I’ll leave your room. I promise you won’t see or hear from me ever again. I’ll even bow out of Eleanor’s party.’

‘Then she’ll only think I’ve upset you,’ Richard scowled. ‘Here, take your silly snap shot.’

He held it out and Lily took it out of his hand then looked at the smiling faces of two people she missed. As she put the picture firmly back into the hiding place in her wallet, Richard sat next to her.

‘You’ll meet someone,’ he said reassuringly. ‘It takes time. You should’ve stuck it out with Will. Actually no, he was all wrong for you.’

  ‘What?’

‘Not the age difference but he wasn’t the one, I knew that from when you started knocking about with him.’

‘Oh, when you forced him to split with me,’ she hissed.

‘I never forced him. He did it all on his lonesome,’ smiled Richard. ‘Be honest Lily, were you happy?’

‘Yes,’ she said taking in a deep breath.

‘Happier than when you were with me?’

‘Considering I wasn’t with you for much of the time, I can’t make comparisons, can I? Anyway, he’d have resented me sooner or later even more than you do now.’

‘Then be with a man who doesn’t want kids,’ he said, matter of fact before frowning heavily. ‘Someone like me.’

  ‘Like you?’ she partially stuttered.

‘Why do you sound repulsed by that comment?’

‘When I laid eyes on you I was thirty seven years old. I’d never met someone like you before and it was a shock.’

‘Love at first sight you said,’ he smiled.

‘I talk bollocks sometimes,’ she said avoiding eye contact. ‘You were incredibly gorgeous, successful and you liked me, sort of.’

  ‘I’ve always liked you.’

‘If you liked me that much you shouldn’t have married me and broke my heart in the process,’ she said calmly. ‘Especially when you never loved me.’

‘Not this again,’ he groaned before burying his head in his hands.

‘You picked on a vulnerable person. You could’ve gone for a younger woman and-.’

‘At the time I thought you’d be less troublesome and-.’

Lily noticed he was trying to find the words.

‘Shall I help you with that sentence?’ she said turning to him. ‘Grateful.’

‘Yeah well, that was the logic.’

‘And my feelings wouldn’t matter because I was older and you’d have married me, therefore dumping me would be fine.’ Lily felt her cheeks become flushed as she noticed he was trying not to smile. ‘Men like you are, how shall I put it, very rare. I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing.’ She stood up. ‘I’m not going to get a nasty letter from Bentley demanding I destroy the picture, am I?’

‘Nah,’ he said and smiled up at her. ‘I’ll let you off.’

‘See you around Rich,’ Lily sighed and took her stuff off the bed before heading towards the door once again, dying to get out of the room.

‘Lily,’ Richard called out again and she stopped just as she was going to open the door.

‘Yes,’ she said glancing over her shoulder, watching him walk slowly towards her.

  ‘One more thing.’

He stopped in front of her.

  ‘Another question?’

She forced a smile and looked up, anxiously wanting to leave.

  ‘Sort of.’

  ‘What is it?’

‘I don’t believe you were ever really in love with Will,’ he said lightly.

  ‘What?’

  Lily felt her stomach squeeze.

‘You know I spoke to Will about you after your split?’

  ‘I don’t care.’

‘You know what he said?’ Richard walked towards her and smiled.

‘You were comparing notes?’ she said through gritted teeth. ‘You could put all that information on a back of a stamp.’

‘He said you ended the relationship on a stupid excuse.’

‘It wasn’t a stupid excuse! I couldn’t give him kids,’ she replied defensively.

‘But the real reason is you weren’t over me.’

‘Don’t make me laugh,’ Lily gulped. ‘You’re really conceited Richard. Nothing changes.’

‘Is it true? Are you still in love with me? Now I see the picture of us is still in your wallet, it makes perfect sense.’

‘I’m not in love with you,’ Lily replied and felt like she was gagging. ‘And a picture is just a picture.’

‘That’s why you wouldn’t tear it up?’

‘Go to hell Richard!’ she said and stormed towards the door. ‘Who was I trying to kid about us getting on? You still resent me in one way or another and you’re still a vain bastard!’

‘You think?’ Richard said running towards her and grabbed her right wrist, before turning her around and snatching the other one.

‘Let go,’ she said squirming, trying to get out of his grip. Lily tried to wrestle him off but was met with a wide smile. ‘You’re hurting me.’

‘No I’m not,’ he laughed and pulled her arms around him. ‘You’re still a funny so and so.’

‘You’re bigger and stronger so if you want to wrestle at least cut me some slack,’ she said struggling with him.

‘I’ve cut you a massive lot of slack over the years, Ms Warner.’

‘Go away,’ Lily snapped pulling her head away from his body.

‘Never,’ he said leaning over before covering her mouth with his and kissing her gently, making her gut do somersaults. Lily looked at him staring back at her as he pulled away slowly, still holding on to her wrists. She couldn’t speak for a moment. ‘Can I ask you a question?’

‘What?’ she said trying to get to grips with the current situation and control her breathing.

‘What were you thinking about when you were sitting in the garden?’

  ‘What garden?’

‘The garden downstairs. You were all alone, deep in thought and then, for one moment, I thought you were going to cry, then you frowned and laughed.’

‘You saw me!’ she said frantically trying to get out of his grip. ‘And then you had the nerve to make out you didn’t know I was here? You bloody sod!’

‘I work with actors, I pick up techniques,’ he laughed.

‘What do you want?’ she said feeling confused and gulping hard.

‘You,’ he grinned letting out a deep sigh.

‘Well you’re three years too late!’

‘Tell me what was going through your mind,’ Richard whispered in her ear.

‘I was thinking about Will,’ she said and watched him raise an eyebrow.

‘That’s obviously when you were going to cry.’

‘Then I saw some lilies and thought of you.’

‘Ah, the frown,’ he said nodding his head as if it was an interesting discovery. ‘And then you laughed because you were reminiscing old times and remembered you’re still in love with me.’

  ‘You conceited son of a-.’

Richard lunged forward and kissed her so passionately her head span out of control before she put him in a head lock and dragged him to the ground.

‘Just like old times!’ he laughed as she realised what happened and pushed him away but he’d shoved his groin right into hers and she was shocked.

Both from the closeness and what was in his jeans.

‘Enough!’ she hissed as he smiled before ravaging her neck. ‘Did you hear me?’

‘I heard you alright and the little groan you let out said it all,’ he mumbled and she felt his hand grab her arse.

Lily realised she’d have to talk her way out of the situation.

  ‘I need to go.’

  ‘No you don’t.’

  ‘I have to.’

‘I know what you need,’ he said before placing another lingering kiss on her lips.

This time Lily was starting to waver more but just before she could repeat herself, her hands started to tug on his clothing and it was her trying to get fresh with him. Rich laughed as he pushed up her dress quickly and pulled off her knickers before he kissed her hard and she grabbed on to his back.

‘Oh god, don’t stop!’ she said and tried to her hardest to push off his jeans.

‘You’re going to garrotte me if you don’t undo the fly,’ he groaned but she didn’t have the patience as he pulled them down.

Lily gasped for a moment as he squeezed her breast but she was the one who couldn’t be bothered with the foreplay as she grabbed his favourite thing in the world as he grinned.

They stopped for a moment and looked at each other.

Something stirred in her gut as the kisses turned gentle but she got a bit of shock when Rich Quick’s dick managed to make her shudder with only three thrusts.

‘Oh my lord!’ she said. ‘Have you had surgery to make it bigger.’

‘You’re starting to shrink from lack of use and I know how wet you get with just kisses,’ he laughed. ‘And another thing. We’re having sex. It’s not a relationship and I’m certainly not in love with you.’ Lily smiled up at him as he gently pushed her hair away from her face. ‘Do you understand?’

‘Yes, I’m not that stupid naïve woman you met all those years back. I’ve matured,’ she grinned as he started to move slowly and she gulped hard. ‘Yes.’

‘Yes you understand or yes, you want more.’

‘Both,’ she said feeling his girth inside her as she glanced into his eyes and he kissed her gently before his tongue glided in between her lips, pretty much like his dick was doing below her waist.

‘Oh god Rich, I love your dick,’ she moaned feeling the intensity building up in her fanny, knowing she was close to having an orgasm.

‘As long as that’s all you love,’ he panted into her cheek while starting to hump her furiously, making her come for the first time in years.

  Get Rich Quik

  The beginning

Chapter One – six years earlier…

‘Who’s that?’ asked Lily standing on her tip toes to stare.

‘What?’ Dominic mumbled pushing her out of the way. ‘Him?’

‘Yes,’ Lily sighed, smiling at the tall and incredibly handsome thirty something man standing on the other side of the room and felt 5’ 3” was not a good height to observe a love god.

‘Don’t go speaking to anyone else,’ Dominic pleaded ruffling up his messy blonde hair.

Lily glanced around at some of Dominic’s actor friends and sighed.

‘I mean what a life? They spend half their time sucking up to people and when they find out you can’t give them a leg up or a leg over, they ignore you.’

‘That’s not true but calling them ‘performing farts’ is not a good idea,’ Dominic grimaced. ‘Why do I bring you out with me again?’

‘Because I’m funny and so well grounded-.’

  ‘Well rounded?’

‘Cheeky monkey,’ she sniggered and pinched his bum. ‘And I’m your only friend.’

‘I have other friends you know,’ he grinned knocking her glass of wine with his beer bottle. ‘Honestly you’re like an old sow on heat.’

‘Enough of the old! I’m only thirty seven,’ she hissed and looked over at the gorgeous man before sighing again. ‘If only.’

‘How’s business?’ Dominic asked, she noticed he was trying to distract her with his extra five inches of height. ‘Will you stop being lecherous for a moment and talk to me?’

‘Same old same old,’ she replied positioning herself so she could leer at the man. ‘The bank manager said he’s going to give me a kicking if I don’t start making money.’

‘Best offer you’ve had all year,’ Dominic laughed and knocked back his beer.

‘I know you think it’s a joke but ‘Oh Goody’ is a good idea.’

‘Stuffing bags with gifts for people who can’t be bothered to go shopping themselves? I mean, it’s not one of life’s necessities, is it? And you can get all that stuff on the internet.’

‘Well it’s more of an imaginative present than the ones you give me?’

‘What’s wrong with my presents?’ he said slightly insulted.

‘A vibrator every Christmas,’ she whispered, ‘and wrinkle cream for my birthday… where’s the imagination there, Dominic?’

‘They’re very practical presents and I know you need them both,’ he sniggered as Lily frowned at his cheeky little face and shook her head in dismay. ‘Your bag idea won’t give you a hard and fast return whereas my presents, particularly my carefully chosen Christmas one, will give you both!’

‘For the hundredth time,’ she sighed deciding to ignore his comment and focussing on the gorgeous man. ‘My idea is a great. I can cater for companies, events, one off presents and I have the website to back it all up. When I get more business I can then focus on opening a small gift shop and utilising my merchandising skills.’

‘And this is from the person whose only retail experience was as a Saturday assistant in Boots about twenty years ago?’ Dominic laughed out loudly which infuriated Lily. ‘And now your ambition is to work in a shop?’

‘My main ambition is to bag a gorgeous man who’s good in the sack and makes me laugh, but that’s not on the cards,’ she grinned at Dominic as he pouted.

‘That’s because you’ve got to change the way you look at things.’

‘Why is it, as you get older, you’re expected to settle for second best? Why should I go out with men I wouldn’t have even looked at in my twenties?’

‘Because you’re getting desperate and need glasses?’

‘And why,’ she said beginning to whisper. ‘Are the men really dull and shit in bed?’

‘It could be you?’ grinned Dominic.

‘Listen, I’m good,’ she said pointing to herself before glancing at the hunk on the other side of the room.

  ‘Who said?’

‘I know,’ she said confidently. ‘Am I asking for too much to want to find someone who can satisfy my needs, be fun to go out with and doesn’t care about the marriage and kids thing?’

‘Lily, you’re only saying that because the chances are looking grim for you,’ Dominic seriously said and Lily instantly wanted to punch him in the stomach.

‘Yes,’ she said hiding her clenched fist. ‘You have a point but as I’ve no chance in hell in finding what I want I’m better off concentrating on my business, aren’t I?’

‘Your mates got married, knocked up and left you to sit on the shelf all on your own,’ Dominic sniped then gently elbowed her in the ribs. ‘They’re not nice women.’

‘My female friends have all found Mr Right and here I am with Mr So Very Wrong.’

‘We’ve known each other longer than some marriages have lasted.’

‘Twelve bloody years,’ she said pretending to look miserable.

‘I could’ve had a great male friend but oh no,’ he said repeating the same old story. ‘You had to go out with him and then he dumps you and me in the process.’

‘It wasn’t my fault when I threw the Eaton Mess over his head because he was being a prick, you’d laugh so loudly he got the arse and evicted us from the party,’ she smirked innocently. ‘What a waste of cream!’

‘I wonder what happened to dear Phil?’ Dominic smirked as they clinked glasses.

‘I don’t care! I’m just interested in him.’

She breathed in deeply as she stared at the man and gently squeezed Dominic’s arm before smiling over.

‘Close your mouth, you’re drooling,’ whispered Dominic as he filled her glass. ‘And he’s way out of your league, though I hear he likes the exotic so you may have a teeny, tiny chance.’

Dominic stroked her shiny brown skin.

‘Who are you calling exotic? Just because I’m a nice shade of chocolate and come from West London doesn’t make me exotic,’ sniffed Lily pulling her arm away. ‘I’m near Shepherds Bush which doesn’t mean it’s a tropical place you know.’

‘I try and give you a compliment and-.’

‘Ha, you never give me a compliment unless you want something,’ she smiled. ‘Anyway as a best friend, by default, you should be building up my very fragile confidence. He’s bloody gorgeous Dom!’

‘Look, that’s Richard Hayden-Quik,’ announced Dominic. Lily could tell by the expression on his face Dominic expected her to know who he was. ‘You haven’t got a bloody clue, have you?’

‘Should I?’ she replied, tilting her head to take a glimpse of Richard. ‘He’s cute.’

‘He’s a bloody good film maker and he’s been called a ‘visionary’.’

‘I could seriously vision him naked in bed,’ she sighed, feeling very lustful and sucking hard on her ice cube she’d put in the wine to cool it down. ‘I bet he knows a thing or two.’

  ‘Dream on Lily Butt!’

‘What film has he directed,’ she asked sipping her wine. ‘Have I seen it on TV?’

‘He mainly does the Brit flicks and edgy TV dramas but he’s in the verge of making it big. I hear he’s working on a major project at the moment.’

‘That’s nice,’ Lily smiled then saw Dominic roll his blue eyes in astonishment. ‘I can make films you know. Home movies from holidays and stuff, we have plenty in common.’

‘Sure you have,’ Dominic snorted. ‘He wins BAFTAs and you can’t even get your stuff on ‘You’ve Been Framed’ because it’s rubbish.’ He looked at his bottle then whispered. ‘Please don’t tell anyone you send things off.’

‘I’m not interested in his credentials, just the way he looks which is lovely. Is he married?’
