The minute that Elizabeth and her family had been transported into the future it had seemed that there were things that were going to be happening that would lead to Elizabeth and her family keeping certain secrets. Elizabeth had started to understand that she would be doing different things that would have led to people asking questions about where she was from and what the reason was that she was in a certain area. Elizabeth knew that she could not exactly tell people that she was from the 1700s when many people were fighting for the freedom that they had all seemed to have many years into the future. Eventually Elizabeth had found herself explaining these things to her parents and older brothers that they were bound to never understand completely until after certain things had ended up taking place that had shown how safe they would all be once they had all gotten settled throughout that entire time. A time that Elizabeth had known would become a rather important event in their lives. The one thing that Elizabeth had not realized during that time was that there had been people watching that had seen Elizabeth and her family disappear from where they were stationed at the fort making it almost impossible for people to start to realize that this would be the one thing that could keep them safe from the terrible things that had happened for quite some time. Elizabeth had never thought that there was that slight chance that one of the people that had seen this amazing disappearance had been Jordan and he would spend quite some time attempting to figure out exactly why these things had happened and why it had been Elizabeth and her family that had disappeared. Jordan had seemed to realize that this would be changing so many different things, especially since he had found himself thinking about the mysterious light that had happened the day that Elizabeth and her family had disappeared from the fort the day before they were supposed to be preparing to join the fighting that had been taking place throughout that entire time. Jordan had no idea what Elizabeth would be doing or even where she was after she had disappeared with her parents and older brothers, but he knew that this was something that had obviously been extremely important to Elizabeth even if she had never told him the reason that all of these things were happening. He would not figure out exactly what had happened until years later when a young man named Jeremiah would somehow find his way into the past after his jealousy had led to things happening that had cost him the relationship that he had treasured for the longest time and had needed the advice of someone that had been through these things after finding out that they had lost the person that they had loved during that entire time.

  The first time that Jordan had seen Jeremiah had been shortly after Elizabeth and her family had disappeared. Jordan had been doing whatever he possibly could to find Elizabeth and her family, but nothing had seemed to be helping in the slightest way. The next thing that Jordan knew there was a mysterious light and Jeremigh had been standing in the same area where Elizabeth had mysteriously disappeared. This had made Jordan start to realize that Jeremiah just might have come from wherever Elizabeth and her parents had gone when they had disappeared. Deep down Jordan knew that the only way he was going to find out about these things was if he had taken the chance to talk to Jeremiah and make sure that Jeremiah had gotten some kind of help regardless of how strangely he had seemed to be dressed throughout that entire time. It was shortly after Jeremiah had been brought into the fort for his own safety that Jordan had found out that Jeremiah had been brought into a different time hoping to learn where the mysterious glowing around the different artifacts that he had been working around had been coming from. Jordan had been rather surprised when Jeremiah had mentioned these things to him and about everything that was happening in the time period that he was originally from. The last thing that Jordan had honestly expected during that time was that Jeremiah would be dealing with quite a few problems that had stemmed from the jealousy and anger that he was often feeling when his girlfriend had been spending her time with her friends and family. Jordan had gone through these things himself when he had learned that he was expected to marry Elizabeth after the war was over, but that was something that would not happen since Elizabeth and her family had disappeared and seemed to never exactly return. Now that Jeremiah had seemed to come into this time period in the same way that Elizabeth had disappeared, Jordan had found himself becoming even more curious about the different things that were eventually taking place. It had been during that time that Jordan and Jeremiah had seemed to do everything that they could to help each other and that had included providing whatever information that they could about the different things that had been happening during the different time periods. In many ways Jordan knew that he should not have wanted to know about the things that would be happening after the war had been fought, but at the same time he had felt that knowing about these things might be able to help him learn the truth about the things that were currently happening for him throughout the 1700s. Either way, this was something that Jordan would later find out would be rather important, not only to Elizabeth but to other people that had been a big part of her life.

  Jordan had known from the moment that he had met Jeremiah that there had been different things happening that would lead to Jeremiah asking Jordan to go with him to the time that he was originally from. At first Jordan was not sure if this was something that he honestly should be doing, especially when there were members of his family that had honestly been counting on him for a number of different reasons. Reasons that Jeremiah would have never seemed to understand throughout that entire time. It had taken several days before Jordan had decided that he would do whatever he could to help Jeremiah, and if that meant going to the future then that was exactly what he was going to do. His parents and other members of his family would understand after they had realized what had been taking place and that had included the fact that he had figured out a way to possibly bring Elizabeth and her family back to the time that they had honestly belonged in throughout that entire time. Jordan was determined to make sure that nobody knew about the way that he was going to be doing these things and Jeremiah would be the one person that could honestly help him depending on the way that things had worked out throughout that entire time. Either way Jordan knew that he would have to keep his real plans a secret and Jeremiah would have to be led to believe that Jordan would be determined to stay in the same time that he would be bringing him to regardless of the things that would be happening once these things had eventually taken place. Until that happened Jordan would find himself biding his time and hoping that his secret would not be coming out after a short amount of time.

  Sarah had been preparing to talk to Jeremiah about everything that she had heard from Eliza about the different times that he had threatened her when she had seen Jordan and noticed that he was coming out of the office where the majority of the interviews had taken place when a new job had opened up. Eliza had seemed to be rather nervous when she had seen Jordan and Sarah could not exactly understand the reason why. It was obvious that whatever the reason was Eliza was going to have to face Jordan in a way that nobody would ever be expecting. In the meantime Sarah had something very important she had to deal with and this time Jeremiah was going to have to face the fact that he might have destroyed whatever chance that he had seemed to have with her after the terrible things that he had said to her best friend. Right from the moment that Sarah had approached Jeremiah he could tell that he was definitely in all kinds of trouble. He knew that they would still be working together but now it had seemed that he was losing any chance of repairing the relationship that he had been in with Sarah, and it was all because Eliza could not keep her mouth shut about the fact that he had been threatening her throughout that entire time. Jeremiah had known that once certain things had taken place that he would have to deal with all of these problems, and this had not been the first time that his jealousy had ended up getting him into some rather serious trouble. Jeremiah knew that Sarah had trusted him with certain things, but now that it had become obvious that he had not only followed her to Eliza’s house that weekend but he had also been spending quite some time threatening her best friend just because there had been several different things that he had not approved of for whatever reason. Now it was up to Sarah to decide exactly what was important to her throughout that entire time. Either way, Jeremiah was sure that Sarah was not exactly going to let him get away with everything that he had been doing throughout the time that she had found out what he had been doing.

  For several days when Jeremiah had been watching Sarah and Eliza talking and spending time together it had seemed that he had been attempting to figure out how he was going to explain the reason that he was doing these things. No matter what was happening Jeremiah knew that Sarah was not about to accept any of the excuses that he would be using to explain the reason that he was following her around throughout the weekend that she had learned about the threats and the things that Elizahad been keeping rather quiet about for many different reasons. Jeremiah knew that Eliza would be the one that Sarah would trust more than anybody else, and no matter how much Jeremiah had told Sarah at different times there was no way she would believe anything that he was attempting to tell her. Even the different lies that he had thought about during the time that he had found out that Sarah was going to find out about the different things that had been taking place throughout the entire time that Jeremiah had been not only threatening Eliza but had been spending his time lying to Sarah about everything that he had been doing right from the very beginning. Lies that Jeremiah knew Sarah would never tolerate since it was obvious that Jeremiah was still struggling with the jealousy he had been using for the longest time. Jordan had done everything that he could to get Jeremiah to realize that he was approaching this entire situation in the wrong way and that the minute he had decided to lie about everything he had been doing, was the minute that he had put his relationship with Sarah in some rather severe danger. Once Sarah had made the decision that it was time to discuss these things with Jeremiah and make sure that he had realized how disappointed that she was that he had decided that the best thing for him was to lie to her about the things that had taken place, Jeremiah had started to realize that Jordan had been right about all of the things that were happening throughout that entire time. By the time that these things had started happening Jordan had been preparing for certain things that he had eventually planned so that he could make the attempt to not only talk to Eliza but convince her to eventually return to their own time with him once he had figured out a way that he would be going back where he had truly belonged throughout that entire time. Jordan was pretty sure that this was something that Eliza would not be willing to do unless Jordan could get her to understand how important it was for her to return to the time that she was originally from regardless of how much danger she would be in the minute that all the fighting had been happening.

  That day when Sarah and Eliza had been talking and spending time together during their lunch hour it was completely obvious that Jeremiah had been told to stay away from Eliza no matter how much he had wanted to talk to and spend time with Sarah while they had been able to have the chance. Jordan had seemed to notice these things when he had been spending time with Sarah and Eliza knowing that these things had been done simply because of Jeremiah’s jealousy and constant hatred toward Sarah’s best friend. Jordan had eventually started to notice certain things about Jeremiah that had caused the majority of the problems that he had seemed to be having when it came to his current relationship with Sarah. No matter what had happened Jordan knew that Jeremiah was going to get his jealousy under control if he did not want to lose the woman that he had honestly and truly seemed to love throughout that entire time. A time that Sarah had seemed to know that Jeremiah would need time to see the kind of things that he was causing throughout the time that Sarah was refusing to speak to him after the last discussion that they had ended up having about everything that Jeremiah had eventually done out of pure jealousy. Jealousy that had eventually proven to be nothing but trouble when it came to the relationship that they had been in since they had first started working together during the previous year. Eliza had known that this had been something that was completely necessary and even then she had wondered what would happen once Jeremiah had seen that he was about to lose his best friend as well as his girlfriend at the same time.

  Chapter 10: Playing Matchmaker

  For weeks Jordan had been spending the majority of his time working with Sarah and Eliza while watching the way that Jeremiah was becoming even more upset about everything that had started happening and that had included the things that he had witnessed the minute that Sarah had found out about everything that Eliza had been keeping from her over the years. Jordan had known to never interfere with a friendship that had lasted for as long as the friendship between Sarah and Eliza had seemed to last before Jeremiah had come into their lives. Jeremiah had not seemed to really understand the kind of friendship Sarah and Eliza had always seemed to have but either way this was something that Jordan knew he would have to deal with regardless of the different things that Jeremiah had been using during the different times that he had decided that he would be using all of his jealousy over something that he just never could control in any kind of way. Throughout the entire time that Sarah was spending her time with Eliza knowing that she was able to stay away from the terrible things that Jeremiah had been doing it had definitely seemed that she was happier than she had been in a rather long time. Sarah was pretty sure that Jeremiah had not understood any of these things, but it was something that Eliza and Jordan had seemed to understand simply because Jordan had been through these things ever since the day that Jordan had found out about the arranged marriage that had been set up when his parents and Eliza’s parents had been spending so much of their time together. Sarah had not seemed to realize that there had been a rather special connection between Eliza and Jordan until after they had started spending time together and talking about a few things that had been happening at Fort Stanwix over the more recent years. Years that Jordan had only learned about from Jeremiah during the times that they had attempted to help each other at different times. Now Jordan had been refusing to talk to Jeremiah and it had all had to do with the different things that Jeremiah had done that had made Jordan realize that Jeremiah was not exactly the kind of person that would ever make a good friend throughout that entire time. There had been several times when Jeremiah had attempted to talk to Sarah about the things that he had done, but something had always kept Sarah from speaking to him after she had found out the truth about the things that he had eventually done during that time. Sooner or later Jeremiah knew that his only hope was to talk to Jordan and hope that he would find it in his heart to honestly help with everything that was happening during that time.

  Sarah and Eliza had both known that Jeremiah was starting to see that he was completely alone. He had not only lost Sarah and Eliza during that time, but he had also lost Jordan who had started to see through the lies that Jeremiah had been telling him during that time. Sarah had told Jordan that she had hated doing these things, but she did not know what else to do since Jeremiah honestly needed to learn to get his anger and jealousy under control and realize that he was not always going to have things his own way because of the amount of time that he had wanted to spend with her outside of where they were all working. Sarah had been the first one to admit that when she had first met Jeremiah he had been completely different. He had always seemed to understand the reason that Sarah had been spending her time with her parents and other members of her family. He had also seemed to realize that the time she was spending with her friends had been just as important as the time that she would be spending with him, whether they had been working together during that time or not. There had been several times when Jordan had seen the way that Jeremiah had often been acting throughout the entire time that he had seemed to see the way that Sarah had seemed to be enjoying certain things when he was not around for many different reasons. There had been several times when Jeremiah had mentioned wanting to talk to Sarah about everything that had been happening when they had first gotten together, but it was completely obvious that Sarah wanted nothing to do with Jeremiah as long as he was letting his jealousy get in the way of his true feelings for Sarah after everything that they had been through when he had first started working with her at the fort and knew how important her friendship with Eliza had actually been throughout that entire time. Jordan knew that it would take a long time before Sarah had felt that she could trust Jeremiah, and he had done everything that he could to get Jeremiah to understand all of these things. Even during those hours that they had been working together it had honestly seemed that Jeremiah had his own ideas about what would eventually be happening when he would get the chance to talk to Sarah about everything that had taken place after Eliza had admitted the truth to Sarah about the threats and several other things that had been taking place. Either way, Jordan had made it a point to tell Jeremiah that Sarah had just needed time after she had felt betrayed from all of the lies that had been told during the past year. A year that she could have spent trusting Jeremiah if he had only taken the time to be completely honest with her right from the very beginning.
