It was several months later when Sarah and Jeremiah had found themselves attending the biggest event of their entire lives. With the help of different members of their families and their friends Eliza and Jeremiah had managed to get their wedding planned in a rather short amount of time and it had seemed that with everything going on Sarah and Eliza were still spending time together. Jordan had known that sooner or later things were going to change and it would prove to be rather difficult for Sarah and Eliza to spend all of their time together, which had been part of the reason that he had stayed as quiet as he did and just let everything happen in the way that it did. Somehow he had even convinced Jeremiah that leaving the girls alone was something that Sarah would thank him for later considering everything that would be happening after the wedding had taken place. In some ways Jeremiah had seemed to understand some of the things that were happening, but even he had to admit that Sarah and Eliza would have their own special ways that they could spend their time together and even if Jordan had not realized it during that time that things would not be all that different between the two best friends. The girls had been the best of friends since they had been in elementary school and nothing that Jordan and Jeremiah had ever attempted to do throughout that entire time was ever going to put a stop to the things that they would eventually be doing after they had all been working at the fort and eventually made certain decisions for themselves. This wedding was definitely not going to change the things that were happening throughout that entire time.

  Long after Eliza and Jordan had gotten married Jeremiah could see that they had remained the best of friends and his girlfriend could not keep from thinking about a time when she would eventually be planning her own wedding. She knew that this was something that would not be happening for quite some time, but it was something that she had been looking forward to for quite some time. Jeremiah could almost tell what Sarah was thinking about throughout that entire time and deep down he knew that whatever had happened he would want to get the approval of Sarah’s parents before he had made the attempt to ask Sarah to take that next step in their current relationship. A relationship that had been extremely serious right from the moment that Jordan had first come into their time period where he could spend his time with Sarah and Jeremiah during those hours that they had been working together at different times. Even after Jordan had married Eliza it had seemed that certain things had remained the same between them just like they had seemed to be when Sarah and Eliza had been spending their entire time together depending on the things that had been taking place after Jeremiah and Sarah had realized that there was definitely a chance that they could find themselves in the same situation once certain things had officially been done. Throughout the entire time that Jeremiah and Sarah had been thinking about the wedding that they had attended during that time Jeremiah had been doing whatever he possibly could to get the approval of Sarah’s parents, despite the fact that there were different things that her parents had often had problems with the things that Jeremiah had honestly represented at different times. Jeremiah had spent quite some time talking to Sarah’s parents hoping that he would be able to figure out the different ways that he would be able to change the things that he had been doing that had caused her parents to think that he had never exactly been the right person for Sarah throughout that entire time. A time when everything had seemed to change for certain people in his life and it had never seemed to really change for him. At least that was how it had seemed for quite some time after his relationship had started getting even more serious than even Sarah’s parents had honestly seemed to realize over the last few years. Sarah had still spent as much time as she could with Eliza, but she had also found herself discussing different things with Jeremiah after it had become obvious that Eliza and Jordan’s wedding had completely changed the way that Jeremiah had honestly been seeing things throughout that entire time. All that Sarah could hope for during that time was that her parents would start to see things differently compared to what had happened in previous years. Eventually Sarah had found herself having to take the time to talk to her parents and get them to understand the things that she was dealing with simply because they had refused to accept that she had loved Jeremiah right from the moment that she had met him, and that as far as she was concerned, there had only been one person that had seemed to understand her feelings for Jeremiah and that had been her best friend. A best friend that had understood everything about Sarah almost from the moment that they had met all those many years ago when they had been in elementary school with each other and had gone on every field trip together right from the very beginning.

  After a while it had seemed that Sarah’s parents had started to understand the complete hell that they had put their daughter through simply by not accepting the one guy that had been a big part of her life right from the moment that she had met him at Fort Stanwix. Deep down they had seemed to realize that there were several things that they should have honestly been doing once they had learned the truth about Jeremiah and the current relationship that Sarah had seemed to have throughout that entire time. It was during that time that Sarah’s parents had honestly started to understand just how much all of these things were drastically changing and that it was because of her love for Jeremiah that they were going to have to accept all of these things whether they had wanted to or not throughout that entire time. The one thing that had seemed to happen during that time was the fact that Sarah had taken it upon herself to discuss these things with her parents, especially during a time when they were never willing to give Jeremiah the chance that he had rightfully deserved after all of these years. Sarah knew that Jeremiah had never exactly wanted her to have to deal with his problems that he was having with her parents, but at the same time it had seemed that Sarah had realized that her parents were never exactly going to understand unless she had taken the chance to discuss these things with them during the time that Jeremiah had seemed to be attempting to get their approval so that he could eventually do the things that he had honestly been planning after the wedding had taken place. Jordan had talked to Jeremiah about these things and knew that Jeremiah had been feeling rather nervous after certain things had happened, but Jeremiah had at least known that there was someone out there that he could turn to once everything was said and done. Jeremiah knew that by the time he was able to show Sarah’s parents that he was in fact the right person for their daughter despite how they had felt about everything that was eventually taking place during that first year that Jordan and Eliza had been married. Either way, Jordan knew that this was something that would be important to Jeremiah once he had decided to take that next step.

  It was a short time after Sarah had talked to her parents and tried to get them to understand the things that she had been going through that Jeremiah had decided that it was time for him to make the attempt to talk to Sarah’s parents after the last time that they had told him that there was absolutely no way, in Heaven or Hell, that they would ever accept the fact that he would one day be married to their daughter. Jeremiah had not mentioned everything about this last discussion to Sarah simply because she would know that her parents would see to it that certain things would not happen. At least if they had felt that it was something that was not for the best for her and if she was being honest, her parents had lost sight of these things right from the first time that certain things had taken place. Sarah, however, knew that she could be just as stubborn as her parents and if it was going to take that stubbornness to get her parents to understand all of these things then that was exactly what was going to have to happen. Jeremiah was determined to do the things that Sarah had honestly wanted and that had included the fact that she had wanted to get married and eventually have children of her own when the time was right. A time that she would always remember once her parents had realized after everything had started to happen right from the moment that Jeremiah had realized what Sarah had done after her parents had made it obvious how they had felt about this entire relationship that she had always had with Jeremiah from the very beginning.

  Chapter 14: Sarah’s Engagement

  For several months Sarah had seemed to be thinking about everything that her parents had seemed to be telling her when it came to Jeremiah and the way that she had always seemed to love him despite everything that her parents had seemed to be thinking about everything that had taken place throughout that entire time. Sarah knew that her parents would eventually have to think about the things that were happening, especially when it came to her daughter and the feelings that she had seemed to have for Jeremiah almost from the moment that they had met. It had seemed that there were things happening that her parents were struggling to deal with after they had learned about her relationship and how everything had happened after Sarah had met Jeremiah all those years earlier. Sarah had never really mentioned these things to her parents, but it had seemed that she was always talking to Eliza about everything that she had been going through at different times. Jeremiah knew that Sarah was always talking to Eliza about everything that she had been going through regardless of whether it had something to do with her parents or even with the stupid things that he had done at the very beginning. Jordan had been the one that had attempted to help Jeremiah through all of these things and that had included the times that Jeremiah had been using his anger and jealousy through everything that he had honestly been doing. Gradually Jeremiah had started to realize that Sarah would not exactly tolerate the things that were happening every time that he had decided that he was going to be using his jealousy to get Sarah to do whatever he had wanted her to do right from the very beginning. Either way, Jeremiah knew that he was just starting to understand the reason that his jealousy was something that had considered to be a bad idea. Deep down Jeremiah had been rather happy that he had been able to turn to Jordan throughout the entire time that certain things would eventually be happening.

  It had taken quite a while before Jordan had realized everything that had taken place throughout the entire time that Jeremiah had been dating Sarah for the longest time. Jordan had known that Jeremiah had always had different issues throughout the entire time that he had been attempting to get Sarah’s parents to understand the things that he was honestly going through when it came to eventually getting their approval after certain things had seemed to be happening. Talking to Sarah’s parents was something that Jeremiah had always wanted throughout that entire time. The hardest things that Jeremiah had seemed to be dealing with during that time was that Sarah’s parents had been judging him simply because of the things that he had done when he had first met their daughter and his jealousy had been taking complete control of the things that were taking place even before Jordan had seemed to return to this particular time period with Eliza and the different members of their families. Jordan knew that his family would be struggling with the changes that had taken place long after the war had been fought and everything else had been happening throughout that entire time. Jordan had often talked about his experiences but he had always seemed to wait for a time when he knew that he would be around those people that would understand everything that he had honestly been through for the longest time. Even Jeremiah knew that talking about the things he had done in the past was something that Jordan would struggle with whenever he was working since this was obviously one of those places where his past experiences would make things rather interesting, as long as he did not mention that he was actually from that same time period when the Revolutionary War had actually been taking place. Jeremiah and Jordan had been relatively certain that there was nobody out there that would believe that Jordan was from the 1700s, but even if someone had believed these things there was no way that Jordan could get that person to agree to keep all of these things a secret so that he could eventually be kept safe. Jordan had been sick of keeping his true identity a secret, but at the same time he had often wondered what certain people would have said and done if they had learned the truth about who he was and the real reason that he had been doing certain things when he had been in a completely different time period. In certain ways Jordan and Eliza knew that their secret would remain safe after they had gotten married, especially with as long as they had remained friends with Sarah and Jeremiah.

  After a while it had been Jordan that had ended up giving Jeremiah the help that he had needed when it came to getting the approval of Sarah’s parents after certain things had been said and done. For reasons that Jeremiah had been unable to understand Jordan had ended up being trusted more by Sarah’s parents more than he had ever been. Jeremiah had tried for quite some time to get Sarah’s parents to understand the reason that he had been interested in their daughter and the reason their relationship had honestly seemed to last for as long as it did, but for whatever reason it had seemed that Sarah’s parents had not seemed to understand or approve anything that Sarah had wanted right from the very beginning. Sooner or later Jeremiah knew that Sarah’s parents would have to accept this relationship regardless of how serious this relationship had been throughout that entire time. Jeremiah was pretty sure that Sarah and Eliza had been talking about all these things, especially during the time that Sarah had hoped that she would find herself planning her own wedding depending on the different things that had taken place throughout that entire time. Eliza had seemed to understand everything that Sarah was dealing with regardless of the different things that were happening with Sarah had her parents throughout the entire time that Jeremiah had been attempting to get Sarah’s parents to approve of him and the relationship that he had always had with their daughter. Between Eliza and Sarah it was becoming increasingly obvious that Sarah’s parents had enjoyed giving Jeremiah the hardest time simply because they had felt that there was always something about Jeremiah that had never been quite right about their relationship and it had always seemed to have something to do with Jeremiah’s anger and jealousy. Anger and jealousy that Jeremiah had always made the attempt to put aside whenever he was spending his time talking to Sarah’s parents about what he would have to do in order to get their approval and hope that they would give him the chance to show them that all he had wanted was what was for the best for Sarah without losing her completely. Jeremiah had hoped that Sarah’s parents would give him the chance, but there was honestly no way of knowing whether Sarah’s parents would understand everything that he had gone through when it had become increasingly obvious that there was a few different things that they had not liked him regardless of the fact that Jeremiah was madly in love with Sarah and would do just about anything to keep her in his life the way that she was throughout that entire time.

  Deep down Sarah knew that Jeremiah was doing everything that he could to get her parents to realize he was not as bad of a person as they had honestly believed that he was. The problem was that her parents had never exactly seemed to see Jeremiah in the same way that Sarah had always seemed to see him despite all of the jealousy that he had been using for the longest period of time. Sarah knew that it was mainly because of this jealousy that her parents had seemed to be giving Jeremiah a rather hard time. Jeremiah had known that this was something that would continue to happen until he was able to prove to Sarah’s parents that he really had been struggling with keeping that jealousy under control until after certain things had always been taking place. He knew that there were going to be different things happening that would eventually get Sarah’s parents to understand the reason that all of these things had happened and had eventually led to him being with Sarah in the way that he had always wanted to happen for the longest time. Gradually it had become obvious that Sarah had found different ways to get her parents to understand the reason that Jeremiah had seemed to want his approval when it came to the things that were happening throughout the time that he had been a big part of her life despite everything that her parents had not really seemed to fully understand when they had first learned about the relationship that Sarah and Jeremiah had always seemed to have for the longest time. Eliza had known all about this relationship ever since the day that they had all started working together at Fort Stanwix and it had become obvious that things were going to be getting better almost from the moment that they had seemed to be starting. Eliza had often heard about the different ways that Sarah’s parents had been complaining about everything that had to do with Jeremiah, but throughout that entire time Sarah’s parents would have never admitted that this was something that they had been wrong about, especially when it came to the current relationship that their daughter had seemed to have right from the very beginning. All that Eliza could do was hope that there would be something happening that would eventually get Sarah’s parents to open their eyes and realize that this was something that would eventually make their daughter very happy. The truth was that Jeremiah was a big part of Sarah’s life and it would definitely help Sarah knowing that her parents were going to support her regardless of who this relationship was with throughout that entire time.

  Over the next few years Sarah, Eliza, Jordan, and Jeremiah had literally done everything that they could to get Sarah’s parents to realize that Jeremiah was going to be a part of Sarah’s life and it just might help matters if they had taken the chance to understand everything that their daughter was currently going through, even if it was something that they had never exactly seemed to approve of throughout that entire time. Sarah had done everything that she could think of to prove to her parents that there had been certain things that had honestly made Sarah’s life better, even if they had not seemed to approve of the things that their daughter had been doing right from the moment that she had started attending the local college. After Sarah had started her job at the fort it was becoming even more obvious that her parents were developing problems about the things that she had honestly chosen to do with her life regardless of the things that were happening throughout the entire time that she was not around them. Fort Stanwix had been the one place that Sarah was always interested in and sooner or later it was obvious that she would be getting her dream job whether it was something her parents had approved of throughout that entire time or not. Now the things that Sarah had been interested in had been completely different and Jeremiah was pretty sure that Sarah’s parents would not be happy about it unless Sarah had found a way for him to get the approval that he had needed from her parents during the time that they had been dating. This was definitely something that would be rather important, long before Jeremiah had followed through with his plans to ask Sarah to marry him in the most romantic setting that he could honestly think of. By the time that some of these things had seemed to be happening it had been getting closer to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Sarah knew that when the time was right there was no way that she was going to get married as quickly as Eliza and Jordan had many months earlier. Sarah knew that this was definitely something that her parents would not completely understand regardless of how they had seemed to feel about certain things that were happening almost from the moment that they had learned about Jeremiah and the things that had been taking place between them during the time that Sarah and Eliza had first become the best of friends. No matter what Sarah had been dealing with during that particular time it had become increasingly obvious that Eliza was the one person that Sarah had honestly felt that she could turn to whenever there had been different things that were taking place for the longest time.
