It had taken several days before Jordan had decided that he was going to spend his time attending the various classes that would help him become the ranger that he had wanted to be for the longest time. Eliza had known all about the kind of classes that Jordan would eventually be taking, but there had been one thing that had proven to be very different from the way that she had taken the classes throughout the entire time that she had been in high school and college with Sarah all those many years earlier. Eliza knew that Sarah had loved all of the classes that she had taken throughout that time and there had been so many different things that she had thought would be happening once Sarah had started making the attempt to help Jordan because of her friendship with Eliza. There had been a number of times that Sarah had been talking to Eliza about Jeremiah and his friendship with Jordan as well as the different things that they had often been doing whenever they had been together. Sarah had seemed to understand that Jordan was struggling with several things and it was because of these struggles that trouble had often seemed to be happening. Deep down Sarah knew that Eliza did not need any of these problems, but there had been things happening that had made Sarah wonder if Jordan had realized how much trouble his anger and jealousy might have been causing for the longest time. Trouble that Sarah had hoped to stop when she had understood everything that had happened right from the moment that they had returned to this particular time period. Jordan had often spent his time talking to Jeremiah about anger and jealousy in the hopes that he would be able to convince Jeremiah that these things had been the reason that he had been struggling with certain things that had happened during his relationship with Sarah and the terrible things that he knew had been entirely his fault depending on the reason that he had often done all of these things. Now Jordan was doing all of these things and acting as if his jealousy had not been putting an end to the relationship that he had with Eliza. A relationship that Jordan had wanted for as long as he could possibly remember. If you could honestly say that he was remembering all of these things at different times. Jordan had never talked about these things mainly because he had often said that there was nothing that other people could have been doing in order to help him with whatever he had been doing throughout that entire time. Jordan might have thought that he had nowhere to turn but in the end there were other things happening that he had never really expected for the longest time. There had been so many different things that Jordan had struggled with that nobody had ever known about and that had included the reason that his attitude had seemed to change so drastically. This was something that Sarah had noticed almost from the moment that he had returned from his own time period with Eliza and the different members of their families. Jordan had sometimes wondered if there was something else about Sarah that had been rather special, but this was something he was not exactly sure would come out during the amount of time that he had been back in this particular time period. Even with the help that Sarah had offered him when these things were happening, Jordan could not help feeling that there was more happening than he had ever been told about the entire situation. It was because of some of these things that Jordan had found himself letting his anger get so out of hand, especially when Eliza was spending her time with Sarah and his jealousy had ended up becoming a bigger problem than he had really been expecting throughout that entire time. Jealousy that he would be dealing with every time certain things had not gone the way that he had honestly wanted after he had started attending a variety of classes that he had felt were needed to help him with the job that he was currently doing. A job that he had started to appreciate more and more after a certain amount of time when he had realized that he would have the time to spend with his friends throughout that entire time. A time that he had never wanted until he had found out about the things he could do after the portal had eventually been closed.

  Chapter 13: College and Romance

  A short time after Sarah had attempted to mention the different classes that Jordan would take online which would eventually help him to not only continue working at the fort, but it would also help him with the education that he had so desperately wanted and needed. Jeremiah had done whatever he could to show Jordan how easy it was to take these classes, but at certain times it was harder for him to understand the things that had been happening throughout that entire time. Jordan had heard so many stories about these online high schools and colleges and yet there had been different things happening that had told him that these things might have been better for him if he could just learn to trust the things that were eventually happening. Eventually Jordan had made the decision that he would start taking the high school classes that had been made available through Penn Foster high school hoping that he would be able to continue the education that he had always wanted. Deep down Jordan knew that he would need help when it came to figuring certain things out, especially once you had considered the fact that he was from a time period where computers and various other electronics had never been heard of or used for whatever reason. Jordan had learned how to use certain things when it came to the computers that were at the front desk in the Willett Building, but there was always some question as to whether it would be enough for when he had decided that he would be taking those classes that he was interested in for quite some time. Jordan had eventually found himself asking Jeremiah for the help that he had needed, especially during those long hours that he would be studying as well as spending his time working with his closest and dearest friends. Friends that had literally dropped everything so that they could help him through all of the struggles that he would be dealing with after these classes had officially started. Classes that Jordan had found interesting in a very special way that had made things even more interesting for Jordan than he had honestly been prepared for throughout that entire time. Either way, Sarah and Eliza were pretty sure that Jordan would walk away with an education that he had always wanted and a reason to remain in a time period that he had honestly seemed to be afraid of for quite some time. Even though Jordan had spent time in this time period before there had still been those times when he had seen things that had terrified him for different reasons. Jeremiah had known that the times that he had found himself fighting in the war that Jordan had witnessed different things that were considered to be rather frightening. He had seen people being killed in ways that would scare anybody, even the most innocent of people, in the most terrifying ways. Deep down Jeremiah was never sure how he would feel if Jordan had not been with him during the times that people had been dying left and right because of injuries or even the various illnesses that had been taking place throughout the time that Jeremiah had been searching for ways to get Jordan to come with him to make Sarah stay with him after everything that he had done throughout their relationship. A relationship that had come so close to ending before Jeremiah had completely understood the reason that these artifacts had been glowing so mysteriously. This had been something that Jeremiah had been glad had been happening, especially since he had met his best friend right from the moment that he had gone back into the past. Now that Jordan was in the same time period as Jeremiah it had seemed that he was going to have to stay there permanently and getting used to the time period that he was in was something that was growing increasingly difficult. Jeremiah knew that for someone that had grown up in this particular time period everything was rather easy to deal with, but for someone like Jordan these things were going to be rather difficult to handle once certain things had started taking place. Jordan would eventually get used to all of these things once he had started getting used to the classes that he was taking and the fact that he was making a few new friends that he could eventually spend time with whenever he had not been working at the fort.

  Over the short amount of time that Jeremiah and Jordan had been working at the fort together it was becoming obvious that there were things happening that Jordan was gradually starting to get used to throughout that entire time. All of the work that Jordan had seemed to be doing throughout the time that he was expected to learn something about the computers that were always being used when he was working at the Willett Building was something that had honestly seemed to be helping him during the time that he was attending the high school and college classes that he was going to need after he had made the decision that this was something he had wanted to do for a variety of different reasons. Jordan had struggled with a few of his classes at first, but he had often found himself turning to Jeremiah or Sarah when it came to the different ways that he was expected to know about fractions and algebra once certain things had honestly been taking place. Jeremiah had done everything that he could think of in order to prepare Jordan for the things that he would eventually be expected to be doing whenever he was taking many of these classes. Classes that Jordan had hoped would help him just a little bit more when it came to the job that he had been doing since he had returned to the same time as his best friend. A friend that had been there for him for as long as Jordan could honestly remember. Jeremiah had been doing everything that he could to help Jordan with his schoolwork when he had noticed that there were quite a few things that Jordan had been thinking about and one of these things had been about Eliza and their current relationship after all of the anger and jealousy had been used when Jordan had been trying to help Jeremiah deal with the things that he had struggled with when it came to his relationship with Sarah. No matter what was happening Jeremiah and Jordan had seemed to remain the best of friends despite everything that was happening throughout that entire time. A time that Jeremiah had hoped Jordan would remember for a rather long time, even after his high school and college classes had come to an end a couple of years later.

  No matter what had been happening over the next couple of years it was obvious that Jeremiah was not the only one that had been rather happy to have his best friend back in his life. Sarah had missed Eliza so much after she had left and returned to her own time knowing that the war was still going on despite the things that she had witnessed throughout the entire time that she had been spending with her best friend. Eliza had often wanted to help Jordan through everything that he was currently dealing with when it came to facing the different challenges that he was facing when it came to using a computer for the classes that he was taking, especially since this was all things that he had never done when he had been fighting the war during the 1700s. Now that Jordan was not having to deal with all of this fighting that had been happening during the time period that he was originally from throughout that entire time. Sarah had understood all of these things only because of the different things that she had talked about whenever they had all been spending their time together. Eliza had never mentioned the way that she had felt about the war and the things that she had been doing throughout that entire time. Her father had been fighting during that time just like Jordan had been doing, and it was difficult for Eliza to not worry about him after everything that had seemed to be taking place throughout that entire time. It had been easier for Eliza when she had not had to worry about all of these things, especially during the time that she was able to spend her time with Sarah and their rather small group of friends. Friends who had absolutely no idea that Eliza was a bit more different than any of them had honestly realized throughout that entire time. Sarah had kept Eliza’s secret mainly because Eliza had always been her best friend right from the moment that they had met each other during the time that they had been in the fourth grade. That was the year of the field trip that had eventually led to Sarah becoming the person that she currently was. Eliza had been acting like she was completely innocent during the time that they were spending their time together, long before they had attended the college classes and started working at Fort Stanwix. Now that all of those things had been proof of the reason that Sarah and Eliza had always been the best of friends things were definitely going to be extremely different. At least that was what Sarah had been thinking during that entire time. Either way, Sarah was pretty sure that things were going to be completely different after Jordan had officially graduated from the classes that he was taking during that entire time.

  Throughout the entire time that Sarah and Eliza had been spending time together it had become obvious that there were different things happening that would eventually cause the girls to end up helping Jordan with the things that he was doing in order to make sure that he had gotten the education that he had honestly needed for the longest time. Sarah and Eliza had done everything that they possibly could to help Jordan throughout the entire time that he had been working on his homework that was from the classes that he had been taking during the many times that he had not been working at the fort or spending his time with Jeremiah at different times. Times that he had always seemed to be thinking about the things that would be better for himself as well as for Eliza for the many months that he was working on everything that had seemed to honestly mean the world to himself and Eliza over the years. Jordan had never stopped to think about the fact that Eliza only wanted him to be happy and if that meant that he would eventually want to return to a time where he was fighting in the Revolutionary War in the hopes that he would be able to help get the freedom that they had both been living with the minute that they had come back to this time where they were often spending their time with their closest and dearest friends. Friends that had always been close to them almost from the moment that certain things had started taking place, things that Eliza and Jordan had never seemed to understand at different times. Sarah had known that after Eliza had come back to the time period that she had escaped to that she would definitely need the time to deal with everything that had been happening that had caused so many of these changes and that had included the things that so many different people had seemed to be dealing with because of Jordan and the lies that he had told the first time that he had come into this particular time period. Eliza knew that Sarah had never said much when it came to the things that she had learned about where Eliza had originally come from, but the truth was that these were things that so many different people were struggling to believe, even when they were told the truth about everything that had been happening whenever Eliza had been around and dealing with things that had never happened in the time that she was originally from whenever she was doing certain things with her best friend and the people that they were often spending time with at different times. Either way, Eliza knew that she was going to have to deal with these problems before Jordan had ended up finding out that people were going to find out about the terrible things that were happening in the time that they were originally from when they had first started coming back into the same time that Sarah and Jeremiah were from right from the first time that they had first met Eliza and Jordan in the very beginning.

  Jordan had been thinking about the different times that he had been spending time with Jeremiah, especially after he had seemed to be struggling with a variety of different things that had seemed to be happening when Jeremiah was having problems with Sarah and their relationship had seemed to come to an end because of the terrible things that had happened because of Jeremiah’s anger and jealousy. Jordan had done everything that he could to help Jeremiah with all of these things, but the truth was that he had taken all of that jealousy and anger away from Jeremiah so that it would eventually save the relationship that he had been in with Sarah throughout the entire friendship that she had always had when she had first met Eliza during the time that they were in the fourth grade. Eliza and Sarah had often talked about a variety of different things when Jordan had done certain things that would eventually help Jeremiah more than anything else that had been done whenever his jealousy had seemed to take complete control. The problem was that Jordan had absolutely no idea what would happen the minute that people had started to see the changes that had been taking place the minute that he had been attending all of these classes and Jeremiah had seemed to become everything that Jordan had once been all those many years earlier. The fact that Jordan had managed to get the anger and jealousy that Jeremiah had once had was something that Jordan had known would start quite a bit of trouble, especially after he had done these things to help Jeremiah with his own relationship that he had been dealing with when it came to Eliza and the way that he honestly felt about her throughout that entire time. Eliza had known that there was obviously something happening that Jordan had never told her about and that there was definitely something happening that Jordan had never exactly told her about throughout the time that they were spending their time in the same time period as Jeremiah and Sarah in the hopes that all of these things had honestly seemed to help them for whatever reason. Jordan, however, was dealing with certain things that even Eliza had never known anything about whenever he had been doing whatever he could to help Jeremiah with everything that was honestly happening during that entire time. Even though there were times when it had become obvious that Jordan was becoming rather snappy after he had started helping Jeremiah with a few things, Eliza had been doing everything that she could honestly think of that would help her boyfriend deal with the mountains of things that he had been struggling with after Jeremiah’s jealousy had seemed to disappear completely.
