If I still haven’t reached the peak level, I could take this chance to stabilize my cultivation base and digest my gains so that I could eliminate as weakness as I can, while I still can, lest those weaknesses become anchors for my cultivation in the future!”
Xin Huo nodded in emphatic agreement and said, “It is true that if your soul increased way too fast, it could lead to an unstable base. You lack a profound understanding of the Rebirth level and it would be great if you were to remain at this level to glean more insights into it.”

But everything had already returned to calm before he was able to get close. As he approached the courtyard, he saw Yu Xuanji and the Qing Long Keep’s Qi Practitioner, Hei Hu, sitting down in front of the courtyard. Other than that, Yu Xuanji looked even paler and seemed to have suffered even heavier injuries than before!
“Brother Xuanji, Brother Hei Hu, what happened?” asked Zhong Yue.
Hei Hu wanted to talk but Yu Xuanji shook his head and signaled something to Hei Hu. Hei Hu immediately got what Yu Xuanji meant and he laughed as he said, “It’s nothing, Xuanji and I were not careful enough and were bitten by some dogs! Haha, when the tiger loses its fangs, even the dogs could harass them….”
Zhong Yue felt confused and he helped the duo up. Suddenly, Hu Qimei and Hu Qingqing could be seen walking towards them quickly and they too, were covered bruises and wounds and Hu Qimei appeared to be in an even worse state than before. It was just as if she was beaten up again before she was able to recover from her initial injuries.
“Brother Xuanji, those guys came looking for trouble as well, right?” Before Hu Qimei even got close to them, she had already shouted angrily.

Zhong Yue’s eyes flashed, his voice was cold and grave, “Qimei, these guys? For what reason were they bullying you all?”
Yu Xuanji glanced over at Hu Qimei, taking the hint, she put up a smile and answered, “Nothing much, just small matters.”
“What small matters?”
Hu Qingqing blurted out rapidly, “These brats took advantage of your heavy injuries and provoked you. Not only that, your injuries were just made worse before you could even recuperate from them! From the way I see it, they are just trying to take your lives!”
Zhong Yue slightly locked his brows, he continued, “What’s going on?”
Yu Xuanji gave a bitter smile, he said, “This has nothing to do with Brother Long Yue, it’s because Hu Qimei and I have become the candidates for saint city lord’s disciple. This naturally didn’t sit well with certain groups of Qi Practitioners, and that’s why they came looking for trouble. This is the saint city lord’s manor, although these brats are rampant, they do not dare to kill us here. It’s only that they keep coming, disrupting me from my recovery. Senior Martial Brother Hei tried to stand up for me, but was injured by their Awakening Qi Practitioners.”

Yu Xuanji hesitated for awhile and he said, “They should be doing all of this under the behest of Heavenly Monster Li Jun’s instructions. Directing the fire upon us so to force Brother Long Yue to step out, all so that he can kill him.”
Zhong Yue pondered for a moment and whispered to them, “Senior Martial Brother Hei, Senior Martial Sister Qing, can you two rush back to your sects and convey this matter to your teachers?”
“Such small matters, this shouldn’t be worth our teachers’ time and energy?”
Hei Hu and Hu Qing Qing gazed at each other, they said, “My teacher is the Keep Master of the Qing Long Keep and Senior Martial Sister’s teacher is the City Lord of Luo Ying City. They both hold high posts and great prestige. This is just merely a power struggle between the disciples, troubling them will be like making a fuss over nothing.”
“This is not a fuss.”
Zhong Yue shook his head and responded, “This is the saint city lord’s manor, who dares to just intrude and simply have their way with the disciple candidates for the saint city lord? Who gave them the guts to do so? Although Heavenly Monster Li Jun’s guts are big and he has a wide circle of acquaintances, those Qi Practitioners aren’t idiots either — if they were to enrage the saint city lord, they would die for sure. And yet, they still dare to find trouble with you, what could all of this mean?”
Hu Qingqing was baffled, “You are saying that?”
“The great saint city lord, had agreed tacitly to all of this.”
Zhong Yue’s face turned solemn, “The【Monster God Ming King Art】can only be cultivated by the members of the saint city lord, and yet, Brother Xuanji and Qimei have learned it. If you two were to be allowed to live, the【Monster God Ming King Art】would no longer remain the exclusive secret technique of the saint city lord. Qimei, Xuanji, which one of you shall come forward to teach me a thing or two?”
Yu Xuanji was furious, he bellowed out in anger, “Meng Xiang, my injuries still haven’t recovered. Would you even dare to fight me after I’ve fully recovered? Taking advantage of my injuries and asking for a battle, what kind of ability is this?”
The two Qi Practitioners had originally cultivated to monster Practitioners from mongooses – their names were Meng Xiang and Meng She, ferocious beasts that hunted and fed on snakes.
“You are the Long Yue from East Ocean? I hear that you are also one of the candidates of the saint city lord’s disciple, you must be stronger than the common riffraff? Are you interested in a duel?”
Meng Xiang measuredly gazed at Zhong Yue and guffawed in disdain, “You can’t possibly be like the useless Yu Xuanji right? In order to become the closed door disciple of the saint city lord, how can you not possess prowess strong enough to convince others? Brother Long Yue, I’m not fond of you, do you care to have a duel with me?”
Yu Xuanji quickly shook his head and said lowly, “Brother Long Yue, don’t fall for it!”
Zhong Yue sneered and he said with nonchalant contempt, “You’re not worth my time, just go back and tell Heavenly Monster Li Jun that I’ll battle with him tomorrow on the city wall! He no longer needs to continue with this pathetic farce”
Meng Xiang and Meng She gazed at each other and saw the sinister smiles in their eyes before turning to leave. Their voices were indifferent, “Challenging the Heavenly Monster? Good ... we will grant you your death wish!”
Hu Qimei was worried, “Brother Long Yue, the Heavenly Monster is very strong….”
“Qimei need not say much, if I don’t answer his call for battle, you would all be pushed to your deaths before your teachers could arrive.”
Zhong Yue lifted his hand and said, “But if I accept his wish for battle, then there wouldn’t be any reason for the monsters to continue to stir trouble with you before his death. The saint city lord will only act again once you leave the saint city. When your teachers arrive, the tense situation now would ease up at least somewhat.”
Yu Xuanji said diffidently, “But the Heavenly Monster Li Jun is strong, really….”
Zhong Yue responded nonchalantly, “Just a little bug, I’ll kill him tomorrow on the city wall.”
Hu Qimei and Yu Xuanji looked at one another, their eyes became filled with worry.
In the garden backyard of the saint city lord’s manor, Heaven Monster Li Jun was smiling warmly. He gently sniffed on the fresh flowers and said, “Long Yue is challenging me? Meng She smiled and said, “Li Jun, why did you have to trouble yourself to kill him? I could’ve just kill that Long Yue brat myself!”
Heaven Monster Li Jun shook his head, he turned around and his lips blossomed into a smile that overshadowed all the flowers in the garden, “I need the name as the closed door disciple, and my reputation must be unmarred by any unsavory specks of dirt. Which is why I want to do it in publicly front of every monster, killing Long Yue fair and square. Also, this is not only my wish, it is also my master’s.”
“The master?”

Meng She and Meng Xiang left, they went for Heavenly Monster Li Jun’s friends to spread the words out.
Heavenly Monster Li Jun had a wide circle of acquaintances, and soon, the word had already spread throughout the entire saint city like an epidemic. The words were all the same, Long Yue of the East Ocean dragon race had challenged the Heavenly Monster Li Jun into a duel for the position of the saint city lord’s closed door disciple. The Heavenly Monster Li Jun was the publicly acknowledged as the most handsome male publicly throughout the whole East Barren, with the consensus also being that he was the strongest expert in the level of Rebirth. While this Long Yue was from the East Ocean dragon race, the dragon race didn’t belong to the monster race; it was a godly saint race that ruled the East Ocean. The fact that a dragon was challenging the Heavenly Monster Li Jun gave rise to exasperations among the monster especially the female monsters, inciting them to unreservedly show their spite towards Long Yue and to adopt him as their greatest foe!
Many female monsters walked the streets, inquiring the identity of this Long Yue and his location, with the strong urge to battle him in place of Heaven Monster Li Jun!
Xian Kong Saint City – in a private on the topmost floor of the Tian Fu Restaurant, Lang Qingyun’s countenance changed slightly. Abruptly, he turned to a man with lofty and steep horns beside him, and asked smilingly, “Brother Ao, who knew we would be met with such an interesting event just right when you’ve arrived at Xian Kong City. As for taking ‘Long’ as a surname ... that is very rare.
