How hard, and difficult was the battle between Zhong Yue and King Teng. Not to mention the fact that Heavenly Monster Li Jun’s cultivation base and prowess were all stronger than King Teng, he was the strongest expert in the Rebirth level in the saint city!
Furthermore, Heavenly Monster Li Jun was shrewd, he had started to build up his momentum before the battle, utilizing the support of the crowd to form an indomitable auric field, giving him a greater confidence to crush Zhong Yue. In everyone’s heart, the battle between Heavenly Monster Li Jun and Zhong Yue should have been a complete landslide!
And it was indeed, a landslide. Heavenly Monster Li Jun had orchestrated the battle, enlivening the whole city in anticipation and attracting innumerable monsters to witness his grand victory. He then prevaricate to make Zhong Yue wait bittery on the city wall to erode his fighting spirit, all so his grand debut would make a greater impact.
He had invested such effort into his meticulous arrangements so that he can crush and kill Zhong Yue with a single strike. Yet, in the end, who would have foreseen that all his petty schemes would simply be floating clouds against Zhong Yue’s absolute strength, blown away to nothingness in but a fleeting moment!
All of a sudden, all the advantages he had accrued for his battle with Zhong Yue turned to mist, and he found himself helpless against Zhong Yue’s overwhelming and unstoppable aura. He was like a withered branch breaking from a tree, struck dead within one strike!
“What a spectacular battle this was….”
The Xian Kong Saint City, in the resplendent jade buildings and restaurants, with the older generations of the monster race were all surprised. They cast their gazes over at the youngster who killed Heavenly Monster Li Jun and was standing still in mid-air after. One of them, whose prowess were equivalent to the level of an elder, mumbled lowly, “All these years, it’s really hard to come by such an intense and spectacular battle among the young ones! The brutality of direct combat where life and death can be decided in a split second. Whether it was their gumption, fighting spirit, experience, … it was all of the highest calibre!”
“If the city lord chose this dragon, he’ll have a qualified successor that is no lesser than any of his other disciples! This dragon as city lord’s closed door disciple would be destined to shine with unprecedented glory!”
In one of the jade rooms, Lang Qingyun frowned, it was out of his expectations for Heavenly Monster Li Jun to have been defeated so abruptly, and to die so quickly!
Logically speaking, Heavenly Monster Li Jun had been cultivating the【Monster God Ming King Art】since birth, his cultivation base had also reached the extreme peak of Rebirth. Only one out of a million cultivators would be able to defeat him in the Rebirth level, not even the celestials and dragons would be able to surpass him by much.
And yet, the scene here had proven otherwise – Heavenly Monster Li Jun was defeated, and not only defeated, but also battered to death. It was just too hard for him to accept the fact.
However, regardless of whether he accepted the truth or not, the fact of the matter was that Heavenly Monster Li Jun was defeated, and his death played out right before the eyes of the public in broad daylight!
“Heavenly Moster Li Jun, he valued intelligence and auric field too much.”

Lang Qingyun nodded and responded, “He was indeed blinded by vanity. Brother Fenglou is very astute. Now that Heavenly Monster is dead, he would have no more chance to rectify such a flaw in his character.”
“Bunch of idiots, can’t even withstand a single strike!”
In the air, Zhong Yue turned and walked down from the city wall, gently shaking his head, “Trying to forge the unstoppable aura of unity through a bunch of idiots? You may have thought that was invincible, but in truth, if it were to be broken, it would’ve just been an expedited road to death. I once thought that, I would’ve had the privilege to a hard fought battle with you But who knew, that you were so weak….”
“He killed Li Jun….” one of the female monsters said shudderingly.
Her words sparked a wave of shuddering and quivering in the bodies of the other monsters, the wave spread like a virus, and their rose eventually rose to an impassioned clamor, “He killed Li Jun!”
“This dragon, he killed Heavenly Monster Li Jun!”
“Avenge Li Jun!”
“Kill him, and avenge Li Jun!”
“Slice him into pieces and feed him to the dogs!”
A female Qi Practitioner shot up into the air, her beautiful countenance was now dreadful and ferocious and her eyes were blood-red. Lost in her insanity, she yelled loudly and manipulated her soul weapon to slash at Zhong Yue.
Zhong Yue frowned, he tilted his body and evaded the soul weapon before flipping his palm down and slamming it over in retaliation —Pu!— the female Qi Practitioner’s head was slammed into her chest.
The female Qi Practitioner’s chest blasted out and crushed bones splattered everywhere like bullets. Her corpse lifelessly fell down from the sky. But there were more monster Qi Practitioners that came from below, blasting all their soul weapons, skills and arts right at him!
“It seems that all of you are seeking death! Very well then.”
Zhong Yue’s body suddenly plummeted down and his body became enveloped in revolving shield carvings that blocked the heavy rain of soul weapons and skills, shield carvings revolved around him blocking down the dense like heavy rain soul weapons and skills. He bolted into the crowd of monster Qi Practitioners and extended out the eight arms!
There was a tiger-headed Qi Practitioner that came into his proximity, opening out his broad mouth and gnawing over. Zhong Yue did not even deign to look over, raising his arm and punching a fist its head —Pang— the victim’s head caved and the forced pulverized the bones of its neck. The shattered bone fragments then continued to shred through the tissue of his throat and blood vessels like shrapnel. Blood spewed up a dozen feet high like a water fountain.
Another Qi Practitioner morphed into a giant python, python-headed with a goddess-like human countenance. Zhong Yue reached his hand out and grabbed onto the python’s weak spot, heavily crushing before doing the same with her head, before indifferently flinging it away.
One after another, soul weapons slashed over at him, and Zhong Yue’s eight arms met their onslaught. He snatched one of the soul weapons and launched it behind, sending it piercing into the eye socket of a big black bear behind his back. The soul weapon’s spiked end penetrated out from the back of the black bear’s head!
While another arm of his clenched onto an axe-like soul weapon, chopping it down into the head of a female monster that was assaulting him in his face, the axe caught her full across her head all the way down to her chest.
Throwing away the axe, his other arms grabbed onto all kinds of soul weapons; snatching a saber and dismembering the monsters into halves from their waists. He hoisted a long spear and threw it out —Chi— a monster Qi Practitioner was then nailed onto the ground. grabbing over the swords and bolting them away, thrusting them into the monsters’ foreheads!
“He killed Li Jun, avenge Li Jun!”
More and more monster Qi Practitioners joined the fray, but this only serve to enforce Zhong Yue’s killing intent. Dong! He landed on the ground and shed off allp pretenses of restraint — sword, saber, hammer, whip, shields and hook swords then emerged in the hands of the hundred and eighty feet tall Yuan Shen. The sword and saber danced in the air like a bladed hurricane, and hook swords clawed at the throats of the monsters. The whip lashed out and wrapped itself on bodies, and the shields fended off the attacks, with the hammer smashing down onto their heads!
This long and grand street that was previously bustling with monsters had now became a fierce battlefield. An army of impassioned monsters flitting over Zhong Yue’s lone figure.Blood sprinkled like rain and severed limbs and decapitated heads splattered about like confetti. The scene soon became a collection of severed legs and crushed hands that flew against one another in the hair.!
“Kill!”
“Kill him, kill this dragon!”
All of a sudden, the stone slab beneath Zhong Yue cracked, and a giant monster extruded out along with many soul weapons. Zhong Yue raised his feet and stomped down heavily, a deep and muffled sound of explosion could be heard, the street floor sank down for dozens of feet, and just when the giant monster was halfway above the ground, its lower body was crushed to dust by the ground!
Another Rebirth Qi Practitioner charged forward, bellowing in anger while he waved down the saber in his hands. Zhong Yue was surrounded by enemies, coming at him from all domains. Due to a slight second of inattentiveness, he took a blow to his back, and a bleeding wound was created.
“I’ll fulfill your death wish!”
Zhong Yue endured the soul weapon on his back and rammed backwards heavily, the saber blade sunk in another inch deeper into his meat before stopping —Chi— the hilt of the saber crashed heavily on the Qi Practitioner and shot out from the chest!
Zhong Yue reached out his palm, grabbed onto the Qi Practitioner’s head and lunged it forward, smashing over at the head of another Qi Practitioner coming from the front, the two heads exploded from the collision!
“Kill!”
The monsters stepped into the breach to replace their fallen comrades, advancing forward wave upon wave. Behind Zhong Yue, the eight-armed Yuan Shen flung and slashed the weapons, casting the【Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array】. Heads continued to fly and ground soon flooded with blood and littered with bodies that lifelessly piled on top of each other.
Chi-chi-chi! Sword Qi flitted out one after another from his hand, dancing around in the air along with the severed limbs, while the blood streamed like freshet.
On the sides of the street were the jade buildings and restaurants, within which, the monster elders were looking down onto the brutal scene. Innumerable monsters billowed to street and relentless attacking Zhong Yue. Every second, the pile of bodies would rise higher and higher as an increasing number of heads became detached from their respective bodies. The fallen monsters would only continued to be replaced by additional monsters that continued to stream in..
Clearly, Zhong Yue had enraged the crowd by killing Heavenly Monster Li Jun, they were not hell-bent on killing him vent their anger.
The scenery was too horrifying to look at. Zhong Yue and his Yuan Shen held all kinds of weapons in their hands, killing and slaughtering the monsters like a blender, eviscerating all without obstruction. He forged through the army of monsters, leaving behind a path of corpses in his wake, with none of them completely intact.
All of a sudden, prismatic rays shone through the air, an Awakening Qi Practitioner that had opened the Wu Xing Wheel rammed over, shoving away the monster Qi Practitioners in his path. The Wu Xing Wheel emerged behind his Yuan Shen abruptly before smashing down at Zhong Yue. He yelled, “Repressing you with the five elements, and refine you to death!”
Zhong Yue jumped backwards to evade the Wu Xing Wheel, but he only collided with the monsters due to that. But he could not evade it even after cramming the packed crowds behind him which eventually squeezed two monsters to death.

The Wu Xing Wheel smashed down and looped him. Zhong Yue could feel his mortal body and Yuan Shen threatening to disintegrate, while the Wu Xing Wheel Qi Practitioner bellowed out and strode forwards.
Behind Zhong Yue, his Yuan Shen’s third divine eye opened abruptly — the sun pupil. Encircling around the jet black pupil was a miniature sun, and in the sun, was a three-legged winged celestial being. A bright golden ray blasted out from within, it was the Yin Qi from the Yin Yang Dual Qi, harvesting the Yin Qi as the ray and manifested it as the Pure Yin Sword Qi, slashing it down at the Wu Xing Wheel Qi Practitioner!
The Qi Practitioner never thought that Zhong Yue would be so decisive and strong-minded, he did not defend and ward off the Wu Xing Wheel before it repressed and refined him, but instead, he launch an attack of his own, jettisoning any efforts of defence, and opting to combat offense with offense!
Chi——
How strong, how sharp and how quick was the Pure Yang Sword Qi that shot out from Zhong Yue’s divine eye? The Qi Practitioner was bolting over, and he had no time to react, all he could do was to tilt his head away while the Pure Yang Sword Qi slashed over along his shoulder , severing his arm!
The severed body parts were instantly burnt in a blazing fire, incinerated to ashes by the Pure Yang Sword Qi!
So strong? Casting such a strong strike must come with its own immensely high consumption, he wouldn’t not be able to give out the second strike within a short period of time!
The one-armed Qi Practitioner lunged over, and it was this moment where Zhong Yue’s Yuen Shen’s divine eye winked, and as it reopened, changing into the moon pupil. A bright moon encircling the jet back pupil with a three-legged six-eyed celestial being in it, blasting out a silver light ray!
The silver colored light ray was the Pure Yin Sword Qi, —Chi— horizontally separating the Awakening Qi Practitioner who has opened the Wu Xing Wheel into half from the middle. The clefted corpse fell onto the ground and melted into a pool of pus water!
His death would naturally lead to the destruction of the Wu Xing Wheel, but even so, after this encounter, Zhong Yue was badly wounded. His meat was charred and flipped inside out at the area of the wound. If it had only continued a little longer, then he would surely be dead already!
After all, he did not have a bizarre mortal body like the ones King Teng had, killing the opponent was the only method he had in facing the Wu Xing Wheel.
But even so, battling against Wu Xing Wheel would instill fear and terror even in the elder monsters. Being able to withstand at the level of Rebirth could only attest to the incredible strength of Zhong Yue’s mortal body!
“Is this forcing me to kill all of you?”
Zhong Yue killed the Wu Xing Wheel Qi Practitioner, the nerves in his body were incessantly transmitting sensations of pain to his brain. Just within that short period of time where he was preoccupied with dealing with the Wu Xing Wheel Qi Practitioner, countless monster Qi Practitioners seized the chance to litter his body with additional wounds.
And this ... drove him to madness!
Chapter 142: A City Soaked in Blood |
On the lengthy street of Xian Kong Saint City, the bloody battle was still ongoing. Zhong Yue’s Yuan Shen cast the【Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array】while his mortal body clenched seven Sword Qi in each arm leaving an extra arm to batter the coming monsters to death!
The【Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array】cast by the Yuan Shen was even more lethal, the monster Qi Practitioners that entered the slaughtering array would all be dismembered without even being able to put up a fight, and died bitterly!
While Zhong Yue clenched the seven Sword Qi in his hands, killing every single existence that obstructed his path like an unstoppable god of war.
But even so, there were too many monsters, and their attacks were all strange and versatile, each differing from one another. Some attacked in the form of sonic waves, some splashed over with streams of water, some blasted with light rays. There were claws, paws, teeth, tails and also all sorts of blunt weapons; attacks would come from the underground and the others descending from above — all this led to wounds mounting on his body!
However, the monsters that died in his hands were even more numerous. The monsters behind were advancing over endlessly, pushing and stepping on the bodies just to reach Zhong Yue. This led to their visions being obstructed by the monsters before them, leaving them oblivious to the tragic fate of their brethren only so that they would suffer it themselves when it was too late to realize
They all wanted to avenge Heavenly Monster Li Jun, but when they found themselves standing before Zhong Yue, they would be killed before they could ever launch out an attack. The death of these monsters would give way to the next batch of monsters to have their lives reaped, and this process would seemingly continue ad infinitum!
“Who’s going to stop them?”
On top of one of the jade buildings, a monster elder’s countenance changed drastically upon seeing how quickly the situation below was devolving into a gory slaughter. The formerly boisterous street had now become a macabre abattoir. He stomped his feet incessantly and said unsettlingly, “This can’t go on anymore. If the younger generation continues to die like this, the future of the monster race would be placed in jeopardy!”
There were around over hundreds of monster Qi Practitioners that had died under Zhong Yue’s hand. Their remains piled up on the street to form mountains, as both sides continued their furious battle. The only things that could be seen and heard were the flying corpses and the gruesome sounds of death. Even the buildings on the sides of the streets swayed violently from the repercussions of the skills and soul weapons. Some buildings were even sent crumbling down to ruins!
The monsters partaking in the battle were unable to see such things on the ground, but the scene entered into the eyes of the experts on the top of the jade buildings as clear as day. It was too disastrous, the sea of monsters advancing forward wave upon wave, one after another. If this continued on, the number of monsters that would die today would be uncountable!
In a jade building beside, an elder shook his head, “Long Yue of the East Ocean dragon race has killed Heaven Monster Li Jun and enraged the crowd. And yet, before the battle, Heaven Monster Li Jun had piqued the crowds, galvanizing their spirits into a fanatic unity. And as he was killed, the collective will that he commanded from the monsters was all transmuted into an undying impulse to avenge his death. What could possibly be done to awaken them from their madness?”
